To Kill the King.

I really liked Gabby, I was tremendously saddened by that event. Any violence is unacceptable but with the political climate being white hot I half expect something tragic pretty much every day.
It's not as bad as the internet tells you. We see the extremes.

History has shown time and time again that if you're out to kill the king you'd better make damn sure he's dead.

In that regard I think the democrats have made a serious miscalculation. (Does anyone dispute that they aren't trying to put a stake through Trump's heart?) Their problem is almost Shakespearean in nature. "To indict or not to indict, that is the question."

If they indict the underlying affidavit becomes public. And if they don't have an iron clad affidavit and an irrefutable chain of evidence they will ignite a firestorm. If they don't indict then there will also be a firestorm. They have indeed painted themselves into a corner. For those of you that have taken Game Theory courses and bother to map the decision tree out, they have less than a 50% chance of prevailing, actually more on the order of 25%.

In the event they prevail, and there is that possibility, they will attempt to continue on the same path. But what happens if they don't?

It's fairly certain that they are going to lose the House this fall. But they'll still have the Administrative branch and all of it's tools to continue the effort, and that most likely means they'll double down. Given that they've virtually declared nearly half of the population "Enemies of the State" it is certain that others not in their definition will be swept up. Governments are not surgeons, they are clumsy and ham fisted.

I know that many of you here are quite celebratory over the recent turn of events. Fine, that is your choice. But I would caution you to forget your partisan leanings and consider that ALL actions have consequences, often not foreseen.

If you're going to kill the king you better make damn sure he's dead.
Has it occurred to you that Trump may be 100% guilty?

Watching the media is almost like going to a three ring Circus. All vying for that middle ring spotlight. I can't remember when I've heard some much bullshit in such a short time, from everyone. From Fox to CNN, it's hilarious.

And absolutely NOTHING of any factual value, all rumors and innuendo.

Tomorrow the Trump team is going to try to get the affidavit unsealed. Low probability of that happening. You can't blame it on the judge if it's refused, judges very rarely unseal such a document in the absence of a formal charge so I don't have any confidence that we're going to see anything out of that effort.

But it does give me pause to wonder if the Trump team is actually counting on the judge to refuse to unseal the document in whole or in part. To keep it sealed will play right to Trump's political base. So is his legal team running a bluff? If the court does unseal it the contents could put Trump at grave political and legal risk, or quite literally sink the DOJ and FBI. This is high stakes politics at it's best.

Only one pundit that I've heard so far has come up with a plausible rationale behind the raid. Just prior to Trump leaving the White House he ordered ALL documents related to 'Russia Gate' declassified. FBI, CIA, all of them. The bureaucracy being the bureaucracy, the complete formal process was not completed. What if those were the documents they were after? And why would they not want him to have them? If that particular notion has any credibility at all the problem becomes even thornier.

It's a crazy ole world we live in.

All the facts that we know about so far have justified the raid. Your speculation is just that -- speculation.

Why would the FBI plant declassified documents?

Chobhamish has been waiting decades for a savior to spark anarchy in the USA.

Feels good?
Is anarchy a rejection of an administrative state? As far as "savior" goes, Trump may be the spark but he's not the fire. The fire is yet to come.

Enjoy your Soy Boy while you can. :)

History, specifically the history of Republics, instructs us that it always ends in a savior/strongman as it dawns upon the citizens that they can loot the largess of the Treasury and replenish it from the pockets of their fellow citizens. You see it now. The clarion call is to tax the rich, an absurd economic impossibility, the brunt of which falls hardest on the middle-class who, ironically, feel all the more sated for their "belling of the cat."

You have speculation, desires and wishes, none of which amounts to facts, just 24/7 bandwidth reporting.

There it is. Now that it's clear that your right wing philosophy had failed, and rather than just admit that you have actually been one of the "useful idiots" you've bitched about for years, you choose civil war.

You are the enemy of our constitutional republic despite all your blathering about patriotism.

Trump took documents that he wasn't allowed to take.

Trump is incriminating himself.
He's a product of public education.
So are you. And your children. How is that some sort of "insult?"

Again, Why would the FBI plant declassified documents?

This is just another game if Trump Chicken.

He walks up the whatever line you’re not supposed to cross, leans over it and says fuck you.

What he’s supposed to do is not run again and fade away.

But he knows nobody wants to start putting Presidents in jail.

Troll Advantage, Il Duce Trump.

I AM surprised that the judge has ordered the unsealing of the affidavit but it looks like that is going to turn into a creative editing saga in its own right.

I beg to disagree with "Trump Chicken" and the tenor of several posts above. The Left desires very much to lock him up. He stole their act, their spotlight, their insanity and now they want to criminalize politics to get it back. Crazy is their purview. Republicans are supposed to be staid, dignified, in their place and good, even gracious, losers. Just as long as they lose. That's the thing they hate most about Trump. He's a winner and all they have to run is losers under the cover of the Deep State and the Media that controls the narratives in symbiotic partnership. If Trump had been an Ivy-League Democrat buffoon and womanizer in the mold of the Kennedy's, they would have loved every single idiosyncrasy and quirk.

Look for Brian Stelter to become one of the shining lights of the Democrat Party consulting class going forward based on shared values and a burning self-loathing that must be projected upon others.

The judge won’t allow a release of anything that would incriminate him, won’t see anything of substance till actual criminal charges are filed which would justify the judge’s signing of the warrant, till then more speculation till the Nov elections.
