In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes. When you pulled on the ropes the mattress tightened, making the bed firmer to sleep on. Hence the phrase "goodnight, sleep tight."

The biggest, boldest and most defiant signature on the Declaration of Independence was by John Hancock. So completely did it overshadow the autographs of the other founding fathers that the term 'John Hancock' has become synonymous with a 'signature' and each of us at the one time or another has most likely spoken of 'putting his 'John Hancock' at the bottom of a document.
 
hate to do this to the chocolate lovers but...

The average chocolate bar has 8 insect legs in it.

Oh well, I guess it adds a bit of protein ;)

Hang on! come to think of it.... finding an insect leg has got to be far worse than finding a whole insect :D

The are more different kinds of insects in existence today than the total of all kinds of other animals put together.
