I honestly believe that there can be such a thing as a "toxic marriage" or "toxic relationship": one that is not only incompatible, but unhealthy and self-destructive to all parties. The only solution to that is divorce or separation.

Agreed, with the additional observation that like all words and phrases of power, this will eventually be applied to any circumstance and for every reason imaginable. That will not change the fact that some toxic relationships do exist; it will merely mean that anyone bored, annoyed, or tired of attempting to meet his/her responsibilities will also invoke this phrase. By way of comparison, just think of how many things have become "terrorism" in the last four years - or ask if there is anyone or anything that has not yet been described as "dysfunctional" by someone.

I know that some would consider me to be "dysfunctional" and the phrase can be abused, but the situation still exists for some.

Oh yes. That's my point with all of those words. The things do exist; if they didn't, or if they weren't serious, there would be no rush to grab those words and apply their emotional payload in various inappropriate ways. But because they are real and do have a powerful emotional impact, the foolish and self-adoring will hasten to try to attach them to themselves. I offer as exhibit A Donald Trump, who in the past has likened his business reversals to the genital mutiliation of young girls and to the Holocaust.

Donald Trump is an egotist, but that's often what it takes to build large financial empires...and then lead them to bankruptcy, only to rebuild them again....and again...and again.

So why does he persist with that awful comb-over? The girls with him turn a blind eye because of the money - I'd march my hubby to the hairdresser quick smart.

If you're bald, be proud. Smooth skin is nice. :)

I take it that your hubby is a sub? I've gotten the impression that you're a domme.

You're right. It's like an amputation of a fetid, putrescent, gangrenous limb. Only less fun.

True. You don't have to pay the limb alimony. :D

But you have to admire his committment to the process.

Whatever gives you that impression?

Yes, he is - my subby hubby.

I'm nearly bald is that any good ;)

Personally, I'm a hairy guy. I wonder if any girls on this forum like hairy men. I'm guessing that a few do, since there are women in the real world that do. :D

So... you want to us to use the phrase "toxic relationship" in reference to any relationship that was never meant to be?

I'm not sure about THAT, but some people are particularly BAD for each other.

Some of them seem at least reasonably amenable to furry? But then, I'm not a man.
