How Do LW Readers Feel About Taboo?

So, I'm working on a story for the Tis the Season for Conception challenge that I'm thinking will find its way into the Loving Wives category. Like many stories, it could probably fit in a few places, but I honestly want to try my hand at LW.

It centers a lesbian married couple seeking a natural pregnancy after a difficult experience that they relate to IVF. They settled on their longtime friend's 21-year-old son, whom they've known since he was a boy, as the donor. He calls them both Aunty because of their pre-existing relationship. I could easily lean into this taboo or dispel it in a couple of sentences.

I have to be honest: I enjoy transgressive sex in my fiction, so I like taboo. But I also have a lot of actual incest stories in the works, so it's not the end of the world if I don't include it in this one story. I don't want to needlessly alienate/antagonize the reader base when I already think a lesbian couple as the primary couple is an oddity in that category.

I'm casting out a net and hoping for the opinions of those who know and post in that area. Thanks!
How is that a "Loving Wives" story (other than the fact the two women are married)?

There's no cheating involved if they both are aware and want the pregnancy. So, for that alone, you'll alienate part of the audience.

The fact you are focused on advertising that it's lesbian, taboo, and mature (May/December sex), shows that you seem to be trolling for a negative reaction. Do you intend to decry later that the LW audience is full of misogynistic incel trolls when they react poorly to a story which included so many other tropes (other than merely extra-marital sex or cheating spouse)?

In choosing a category, look at the prevailing sexual themes which dominate the story to decide which audience might BEST appreciate it.

EDIT: And BTW, don't naively believe that your story might TEACH the LW haters anything. They (like almost everyone else) know what they know, and you'll not change any minds by shoving an "In You FACE" story at them. If you merely want to troll for a negative reaction, then by all means, have fun. Just don't complain later about getting what you asked for.

EDIT2: If you want to see how a lesbian relationship story goes over in LW, read my latest below "That Look of Yours". It's about a wife who developed feelings for her best friend, and the two women acted on it. It's rated 3.02/190 with 24K views.

The tagline for LW is "Married extra-marital fun: swinging, sharing & more" which my story 100% falls under. For the record. I did neglect to mention the strong cuckquean element I'm planning on with one of the wives. Freely admit that was my oversite.

Unnecessarily hostile and rude, with wild assumptions about a question I was asking in good faith. I like taboo, but I can take or leave it in this particular story, so I wanted to ask people with more experience whether including it would alienate that audience, so I can leave it on the writing room floor.

So, more accusations and assumptions about my intent, followed by an attempt to give me advice and to tell me to read your story? Kindly, fuck off, you twat lol

LOL. You miss my point with your whole rant!

You asked for advice on how the LW audience would react. I have 53 stories published in LW, and I am telling you from YEARS of experience reading LW stories how they'll react!!!

The Mature (son of their friends) aspect has little to no impact on the prevailing "extra-marital sex" aspect of LW stories. If you make the son a closer relative for Taboo, you'll be told by commenters it should go into the Taboo category. And the same goes for the Lesbian couple, which will probably be far less than just a momentary side note as to their relationship!

So, your whole story premise and saying you want to post it in LW screams "I want to stick it in their faces, what do you think about that?"

Now, re-read my post and take it in the spirit intended. It's a warning that you'll get a very negative reaction due to the number of other tropes you plan to inject! But if you want to do it for the fun of fucking with that audiences' minds, then do it! I've done the same with some of my own stories to fuck with them! (NOTE: And I don't complain, but rather take pride in my low scores and negative feedback!)

I threw in that last suggestion of one of my stories about a lesbian affair, in case that was the primary reason you wanted with your story and only used the pregnancy thing as the reason for why one of them would have PIV sex.

EDIT: If your reaction to my advice is any indicator, I'd suggest that you are not ready for the REST of the LW audiences' reactions which will be far less kind!

I mean, a 3.02 isn't a bad score.

I asked how the LW crowd would respond to taboo, not if my story fit in the category. Despite that, plenty of people in this thread have turned their answers to the latter, which was fine, and I took it without offense because no one else was a dick for no reason. Just like with comments on stories, I can judge the merit of an individual's response to a thread and whether to heed what someone says or not. I even said in my second comment that it could fit in another category, but I'm attracted to LW because even with its reputation for factionalism and review bombing, it also has a thoughtful readership willing to give an actual critical eye to what they're reading.

You accused me of using my creative endeavors to fuck with people and then planning to play the victim, and I'm supposed to be open to your advice? Literally think to yourself, why would I do that after you were so antagonistic out of the gate?

You don't know me or my intentions, but you've decided I'm a bad actor from the jump. Sincerely, have a nice evening, but I don't feel the need to further engage with you in particular.

And that's all she wrote.

Threads in this Author's Hangout attract "experts" opinions, and that was what you were asking. Many of those experts might have just one or two stories posted there in LW. And many authors here will give their expertise, even after having stated in other threads that they NEVER read any of the LW stories because they KNOW those stories are ALL misogynistic incel garbage! (having never read one!)

There are two or three authors who have done exactly what I warned (and suspected of your intent), in that they wanted to post at least ONE story to LW. to prove how bad that audience is

One of those authors posted a story which I suspect even the most ardent fan of BDSM category might be hard pressed to find any "love" in the wife's behavior. And yet that trolling author posts on these AH threads their "expert" opinion because they have PROOF in that one story!

I write to the LW category almost exclusively to gauge their reactions to an ever widening variety of scenarios. (It's my hobby.)

So, if you are intent on posting to LW and want an informed opinion, then be careful whose advice you take. Authors such as NoTalentHack have several well written stories posted there, and regularly comment on the stories of others. There's an opinion to respect from the swinger/sharing lovers faction's POV. Alternatively, if you want the "monogamy-only" faction's POV on you proposed story, 26thNC regularly trashes LW stories with negative comments, and hangs out here in the AH using another login ID. But 26thNC will sometimes use that login to opine here with their opinion to answer a question.

Sigh, LW always brings out the most diversion. @Lifestyle66 is right, if you hit the tropes used on commercial cuckold stories, you're going to get hammered on both the comments and the votes. It doesn't matter what your intent is, what the LW was designed to be, hit cheating tropes hard, and a majority are going to fight back.

I think the OP isn't merely looking for tropes, but rather to poke the LW audience. And I've seen that several times before from those who post a trolling story there, then come to the AH aghast at the vitriolic responses they receive, claiming innocence for just posting their "normal" story.

And you know me, I love poking that audience with my stories! Heck, I encourage and appreciate the negative responses I get there when I'm deliberately poking them! (And again, thanks for your idea on my troll story! They just didn't react as badly as we expected.)

But if my first comment here in the AH triggers a negative reaction from that author, watch out! The Op stated they were " hoping for the opinions of those who know and post in that area."

I try to warn, in Loving Wives : "Here there be dragons!"
