Treasure Island

yet to pick a name

(ive never played a short person before, or anyone with 'small stature' um, i ussually make my characters my own height, 5'11" but hey im game...make me 5'5" with a pixie looking face and imagine a dark haired native to hawaii, then make her blonde...tada.. there is my character)

they froze too. i contemplated darting away. my eyes were wide as a does (the deer). i was light footed and i had stopped myself on my tiptoes. i frowned to see my dinner got away, but went back to see one of the men moving towards me. i backed up a bit. my eyes wide with curiousity. i felt for the dagger that rested between my breasts (gabriel in 'xena' had one of those!) he kept coming closer so i unsheathed it. i just held it limply in my hand, not as a threat, as a warning, "don't hurt me." is all i said.

OOC... puter problems! *l*

ic.... I tended to Maggie seeing her try to be strong. The best i could do was just hold onto her. I spied Kel retrieving the packs. And managed to reach over and get Maggie's pack and my own. Least we got each other. Trying to make light of the situation I say so waht did you pack for your trip to this tropical island. We just about started to rummage through our bags when a small what appeared to be a young native woman came out of the woods. And a shocking unsettleness set in the group as we froze and starred at this wonder from the forrest..

Robert Phoenix

As Robert rejoined all the others, they were ll standing dead still. Intrigued, he turned to see what they were all looking at.

And then he saw the young woman. She was quite beatiful, but there was great apprehension in her eyes.
For a few long moments, nobody moved.
Then, seeing that the alternative would be to stand still until dommsday, Robert put his guitar on the ground and started walking towards her.

Suddenly she stepped back and held a dagger in her hand.
"Don't hurt me" she said.

Robert stopped and smiled a soothing smile. At least, he hoped it was soothing.
He usually left the talking to others in situations like this, and the dagger was adding to his nervousness.
"We won't hurt you." he said. "We were stranded here..."
the girl did not speak. Nor did the others do anything.
"Er...I'm Robert. Robert Phoenix."

no name yet

i noticed a man put something down then come towards me. i jumped a bit. and made sure my dagger was firm in my hand. he said they wouldn't hurt me. they were stranded. i just blinked, he introduced himself. i had never heard that name before so i said it outloud, he laughed. i narrowed my eyes at him, why was he mocking me? i stood up straight and looked around. robert asked, "what is your name?" he said it slowly. "my name is gaia (for lack of a better name and one i won't forget.)" he stepped forward a bit more and i jumped back, i stumbled on an upraised root and lost my balance, i landed on my butt with a thud.

Kel

I screwed my face up as Gaia landed on her backside. Sympathy pain.

"Ow. That would have hurt." I muttered under my breath.

This brought a smile to Cassie's face and she reached over and pinched me on the arm.

"Behave." she whispered

I shot a glance in her direction, giving her an exagerrated menacing look, then all of sudden breaking out of character, resorting back to the pouty lips and puppy dog eyes, "I'm-hurt-give-me-some-sympathy" look...

"Ow. That DID hurt." I said, rubbing my arm.

I took a step forward and addressed the group.

"Well... Now that introduction's been made and our little eh... Mexican stand-off's well and truely over, can we start collecting some wood or something? I don't know about young Cassie here, but I for one wouldn't mind getting a nice toasty fire started up so that I can warm my tootsies..." I said, grinning like a child.

Robert Phoenix

Robert stretched out his hand. Gaia looked at it warily, then took it. After pulling her to her feet, he invited her to stay with them. Gaia's eyes narowed again.
"Only if you want to," Robert said hastily. "I mean, it's getting dark, and you might want a fire to keep you warm..."

gaia

i took his hand.
"thank you" i said meekly.
he offered me the chance to stay. i narrowed my eyes. not sure of his intentions. i looked up towards the sun, it was about 7:00 in the evening, my little flight through the forest began at around noon. i wouldn't make it back in time before the night animals decided to hunt for food. my curiousity and the prospect of not being alone was overwhelming. i noticed he hadn't released my hand. i gingerly pulled away. " if you wouldn't mind, there isn't a chance i would make it home, so i have to take you up on your offer."
he put his hand at the small of my back, leading me towards there 'camp' having never really been around anyone but my brother and my father and when i was little there was another small boy, i wasn't quite sure how to react. i let him lead me. they had chosen a pretty good spot, however they had no shelter. and no fire. i frowned. "i'll be right back." i darted into the woods quickly found a large fallen tree. i struggled for a bit and started to drag it out of the woods. it was heavy. i walked backwards while dragging it and finally got it to where i wanted it, they all just stared at me. i dropped the base of the tree with a thud. i leaned over, my hands on my knees, trying to catch my breath. "we have one hour of daylight left." i pointed to the sun. "you need shelter." i looked at all of them, pale skinned, and soft hands, apparently not from around here. i would ask later. i pulled a knife from my hip, under my sarong and began to cut branches off of the tree. i had an arm full. "burn these. then put the tree on top." i worked quickly, they would get nowhere fast if they kept standing around. there wasn't enough time to build a shelter. they began to work on the fire. "i need someone to help." the man from before, robert i believe his name was, followed me. he paused before we entered the jungle. "hurry, we don't have more than a half hour of light." i laughed when i found the trees i was looking for, i didn't think i would find them so quickly. palm trees. "i don't suppose you know how to climb?" i didn't wait for a response. i began to shimmy up the tree, taking out my knife again, i began the tedious process of breaking it away.

Kel

We all stood there and just stared at each other as Gaia ran off into the jungle, Robert in tow.

"Wow. She's like... crocodile dundee only a foot shorter, blonde and female." I shoke my head and said as I picked up final branch of the cut-offs and tossed it into the pile. I knelt down on one knee and pulled my lighter out of my pocket. Shielding it with my left hand from the wind, I flicked it on, the little blue flame dancing delicately in the soft breeze. The fire picked up reasonably quickly once I had the smaller twigs and dry leaves alight.

Cassie sat by my side, her knees tucked up against her chest, watching the fire with interest. Maggie and Daniel sat together across the fire, seemingly chatting about something or another...

"Hey Dan, you want to give me a hand with throwing this ... eh.. tree... on the fire?" I pointed at the tree dragged in by Gaia.

Cassie

OOC: I thought crocodile Dundee was blonde too... :)

IC: I watch as Kel lights the fire, it catches fairly easily, and I'm relieved to have some kind of comfort. Kel then asks Dan if he'd help him move the tree on to the fire.

"You might want to put some medium sized pieces on first and let it build up a little more, other wise that big ol tree is just going to kill it," I comment.

OOC: Ok, I'm not exactly sure if my character would know much about camping and fires and such, but that was the only thing I could think of to add in. :)

Kel

OOC: Oh yeah. He IS blonde isn't he? Oops.

I stopped dead on my tracks towards the large fallen tree, turned around and gave Cassie a make pretend "fuck-off" look...

"You know what? I've just HAD ENOUGH of your back seat driving. Why don't you get off your ass and give me a hand instead..." I took a step towards her menacingly...

"but then again. You ARE my girlfriend. And I guess it IS your right to nag. And I must say, eventhough your ass IS glued to the ground serving no function other than a cushion, I do have to admit it IS very fine ass."

I grinned and pounced on her, pinning her shoulders back, and straddling her tummy, kneeling over her (but my weight taken fully on my knees). I then proceeded to tickle the living daylights out of her, mercilessly. Cassie squirmed and laughed uncontrollably, trying desperately to grab my roaming hands, and kicking around feebly with her long slender legs.

Cassie

Kicking, giggling and gasping for air as Kel tickles me, I finally yell, "Truce! I give up, I give up!" While still laughing.

Maggie:

I glanced over at Kel and Cassie, and felt kinda left out. I wonder how Brian was doing back home.

I looked up at Daniel again, in a new light this time. I began to notice the similarities he had with Brian.

Robert Phoenix

Robert looked up at Gaia, admiring her skill with the knife.
Then he realized he could see under her sarong, and quickly looked away, blushing.

He hoped fervently that she hadn't notied...

gaia

(been out of commision, won't let it happen again SIRS...)

i threw pieces of the palms down. "they are heavy, balance them on your shoulder." i shouted down. i noticed him staring at me. i just shook my head. i had to hop to another tree, as to not kill the one i had been working on. i had about 16 or 17 large palm leaves. he struggled with them. he was strong, a man in the village would never be able to carry that many. i lifted five or six off of him. i took a vine (how convenient eh?) which i spoted a few feet away, and tied two of them together. "put them here." they landed with a thud. "you grab that side, no...go on the inside..." i went next to him, grabbing the other branch. there wasn't much room, i was pressed him to him with him.
"not making you nervous am i?" i mumbled. "pull." we began to pull together. they began to slide behind us. i halted. "what the.." i heard him say. i put a hand over his mouth. "shh." my eyes darted around the forest. "move as quitely and quickly as possible." i whispered. "what is..." i put a hand over his mouth again and pointed to his right. a large feline was standing in the brush. his eyes opened wide with horror. i signaled him to be quiet. "brace yourself against me and we can move quicker." i said refering to his akwardness to being right next to me. he seemed to be afraid to let his arm brush mine. he is a handsome man, i noticed. but i didn't have much time to think. "faster." i said, a bit afraid myself.

Re: Cassie

OOC: Where's Dan gone again?

"Truce? TRUCE?" I laughed, ceasing the tickling and pinning her wrists down on the ground instead. She looked up at me with those baby blue eyes, her blonde hair sprayed across the ground, and I melted, for a moment forgetting the slight predicament that we were in, being stranded on an island and all. I leaned down and playfully rubbed my nose up against her, and kissed her on the lips as I pulled away. As I sat up (with Cassie still pinned down under me), I noticed Maggie staring at us, and Dan no where to be seen. I blushed slightly and stuck my tongue out playfully at her, and apologized for our childishness. Cassie, seeing the tinge developed on my face, looked across at Maggie, and soon enough, a matching tinge appeared on Cassie's face as well. I offered my hand and pulled Cassie back up, and dusted her off, both of us embarassed to the core...

Cassie

For a moment there I'd almost forgotten where we were. Kel got that sweet look on his face and for a moment, everything was perfectly fine. When Kel sat up, he got a tinged look on his face, I looked over to see what was up, and noticed Maggie by her self. We quickly got up, feeling kind of stupid, I wanted to say something to her, but I wasn't sure what the right words would be.

Maggie:

I noticed Cassie looking up at me; she was a pretty little thing. If under better circumstances, I could even imagine the both of us together, in every sense of the word that is.

My thoughts returned to that of survival: how are we supposed to survive on this weird island without shelter or food?

Kel

We sat around the crackling fire as the darkness descending upon us, waiting for Gaia and Robert to return. I wrapped my arm around Cassie's shoulder to keep her warm, caressing her arm, feeling her soft skin on my fingertips. Maggie and Dan sat across from us, the flicker of the fire casting shifting shadows over their faces. The silence was beginning to get to me, and so I decided to start a conversation... But what would be an appropriate discussion topic given the ordeal that we've just been through???

...

...

"Hmmm... soooo... the weather ain't bad is it?"

I frowned and rolled my eyes upwards. Sheesh Kel. What the fuck was that?!?!

Maggie:

Kel tried a vain attempt in breaking the silence. I smiled at him, as he realised the lameness of it.

Still, the group of us could be stuck here for quite some time; it would really help for us to get to know one another better.

'Why don't we get to know one another better? Like just tell everyone something about yourself...'

OOC: That was a pretty out-of-character post, but things do have to get going...

Cassie

I smile at Maggie's idea, if nothing else maybe it will take our minds off the situation.

"Well, ok, I guess you know I'm Cassie Drake, I'm 18, from Australia, and I'm a model." I laugh a little, blushing, "yeah, I know it sounds suspicious, but I really am. Anything else you'd like to know?" I ask, smiling sweetly.

OOC: Sorry about that! Sheesh, where's my head!

Kel

"Suspicious??" I asked, both my eyebrows arched as I gave Cassie and inquisitive look. "You know you are absolutely gorgeous don't you? Well, at least I think so anyway. So what do you mean it's suspicious that you're a model??" I asked, rhetorically.

"Besides, if you weren't absolutely gorgeous, I wouldn't date you." I kidded. Cassie gave me one of her "angry-pouty" looks, and I bursted out laughing, pulling her close, laying her head on my shoulder. "Awwwww sweetie, you know I'm kidding."

I looked over at Maggie and smiled.

"So what about you?"
