Robert came out of his daydream. His ears had registered the conversation, but his mind had only taken mild interest, being submersed in thoughts of various nature.

As he watched Kel examine the burn on Gaia's hand, he felt guilty for not expressing his concern. The problem was that it was a bit late now. Then again, he would not have Gaia think that he did not care about her...never would he want her to think that!

"Um...does it hurt much?" he asked rather lamely.

I ran my fingertips lightly over Gaia's outstretched hand. The amount she has been through in life showed in her hands, her skin was rough and harsh in comparison to Cassies' but yet her fingers seemed somewhat delicate...

Out of the corner of my eye, I catch a glimpse of Robert staring at Gaia and I.

"Um...does it hurt much?" he asked rather lamely.

A small smile appeared on the corner of my lips. I thought Robert had a little something for Gaia. Fast worker... I smirked in my head.

I gently re-wrapped Gaia's hand for her with the torn sarong, and explained the situation, at the same time, turning to face Robert.

"Your hand's fine Gaia. The burn's not that deep, so it shouldn't pose much problems. Best thing to do though, might be to get a clean fresh water and give it a quick wash. Soaking the sarong in water before bandaging it up probably will make it hurt less too." I nodded. "SOoooOoo... do you know if there's any fresh water around? Maybe Robert can go find some water with your or something." I said casually.

I smiled as Kel suggested that Robert go with Gaia to find some fresh water. I think he enjoyed playing match maker, even if he didn't want to admit that that's what he was really doing. I slid my arm around his waist, laying my head on his shoulder. I don't think that I had gotten any sleep at all on the hard ground.

As much as I hated admitting it, I kinda enjoyed playing match making. It's wierd how people can still have fun in the most unlikely of circumstances. As Robert pondered through what to say or do next, I felt Cassie slip her arms around my waist and rest her head on my shoulder. I turned to take in the scent of her hair - still peachy from our last shower on the boat.

"How are you doing?" I asked, wrapping my arm tight around her shoulder. "You know what? How about we go for a walk, down towards the beach or something and catch the sunset."

"It'll probably be more comfortable for you to sleep on the sand anyway." I added, smiling knowing how little sleep she must have had last night.

Kel suggested we go for a walk down the beach to catch the sunRISE, and something about it being easier to sleep in the sand. Though I really didn't think he had any intentions of sleeping. I looked over at Gaia.

"Would it be safe?" I ask her.

OOC: SUNSET!!! ~whacks his own forehead~ I think I'm confused. Heh.... that's what I get for neglecting the thread I guess. Anyway... Back on track.

Before Gaia had a chance to answer, I jumped in, playful as ever, teasing Cassie, "What?? You scared of the BOOGEY MAN hon???"

Cassie turned and gave me her glare again, and I grinned... Adopting a slightly more serious tone of voice, I decided to reiterate Cassie's question, after reconsidering Cassie's question, I realized that I too, was concerned. Only a tad though. I think.

"Actually. Gaia, IS it safe?"

OOC: Cassie, NO NO... I was the one who got it wrong. LOL Now I've gotta go back and change the sunrise that I changed into a sunset back to a sunrise cos you changed your sunset into a sunrise cos I got confused! (Hope that made sense.)

And with regards to the treasure bit... well, I don't know how to introduce it. Eh... someone else introduce it. Or let me think about it for a bit...

OOC: Turns out I'm going to be going home for Christmas vacation sooner than planned, and I don't know when (or if) I'll get a chance to participate for the next few weeks. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, feel free to move me about or what ever. If it's any consolation, just think of the withdrawals I'll be going through! I really am sorry for leaving like this though. (guys im going to be gone for a whole week at christmas, Good lord what am I going to do? sigh...oh well...and it is sunrise...lol...)


I felt foolish, "It is just a burn. But we do need water. You may...come with me...if you like...Robert." I said the last part shyly. Never in my life have I been shy, there was no need for it, the emotion surprised me. "As long as you walk near the water, and don't go too far..." I was thinking how my little expedition had caused me to meet these people. "as for fresh food, at my camp, I have bows, spears...and some fresh fruit, I have what you call a garden. Small...." I smiled at Robert. I don't have a clue why, I suddenly felt happy. "In fact, All we have is water until we go to my camp. That is if you all want to go there, i have a large shelter. and...softer places to sleep. There is a small river behind it, you may bathe too. But for now, go for your walk, we can go get water."



(maybe, We all eventually go to my 'camp' in the jungles, maybe, on our way there, we find something....just a thought...)

Robert and Gaia walked to wards the nearest river. After a while, Robert noticed that he was walking quite close to her, almost touching her...he did not step back from her, though.

The walked in silence, apparently both unable to speak first.
Aftter some time, Robert couldn't bear it anymore and said
"So, er...you usually live all by yourself, then?"

I was used to silence, apparently he wasn't but I too felt like something needed to be said. "I have lived her all my life, up until I was sixteen I had my father and brother. Then they passed away. I have been alone since I have been eighteen. It is...lonely." I kicked a small shell. my bare feet sinking into the sand, I closed my eyes and stopped, just enjoying the feeling of the sand between my toes. with my eyes still closed I said, "the river is just a few yards ahead. I could feel his gaze upon me. His body heat rushing over my cool skin. I opened my eyes. "You fascinate me." i said as I narrowed my eyes a bit, a small smirk crossing my lips. The first smile I have smiled in a very long time.

Watching Gaia smile had an electrifying effect on Robert.
He felt how his face grew red as he said
"Uh....thank you. You...you fascinate me as well, Gaia. I've never met anyone like you. And besides, you...you're one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen."

I smiled at him again. I reached up and touched his hair, "so different." I took my fingertips, and all at the same time brushed them over his face, as if memorizing it. An innocent gesture, I didn't know that it wold have an effect on him. He shivered.

Robert shivered at the feel of Gaia's fingers brushing over his face. He suddenly felt...no, afraid was not the right word...mor...nervous...
And yet, he did not want to break eye contact with her, he wanted to keep on gazing into those beautiful, beautiful eyes...
Feeling the heat in his face getting ever stronger, Robert finally pulled himself together.
"Um...w..where can we get the water?"

I kept my fingers lightly brushing over his face, my thumb grazing his cheekbones. I never broke contact. "Over the ridge, half hour walk." I said in a non-paying-attention tone. "I am extremely....warm."

Robert gulped. Gaia's body heat did seem more than usual...then again, she wasn't usually this close to him...

"You're...right...it's rather hotter than yesterday. Or at least it feels so..."
His voice trailed off again, as he kept on staring aat her beautiful face, her glittering eyes, her almost mischievous smile.

I have been on vacation for over a week. Sorry.

(ooc. Yes would love it if this thread would pick up the pace but if any new comers...want to join dunno how but...I am going to continue my character.)

GAIA:

I looked at him, with fascination, curiousity. His eyes seemed, clouded with a look not familiar with me. I watched the contrast of our skins. His handsome light brown, almost peach in comparison to my caramel skin. His face was beginning to pick up the sun, tints of brown glittered here and there. "so...incredibly..." my sentence trailed off, barely audible in the first place. I blushed and looked away, an instinctal thought went through my mind. Well, It wasn't so, "instinctal" (if that isn't a word, now it is). In fact, I had to tear my eyes away. My body flushed. "I...um...." I wanted to tell him I wanted to wrap my arms around him, but in my mind, what use was that? Living alone with my family never gave way to thoughts like this, they weren't needed, or known. I just wanted to.

As Gaia tore her eyes away, Robert had to stop himself from asking her to look at him again. Her skin felt even warmer now, and somehow the air seemed tense, filled with electricity.

Robert noticed that he was breathing heavily.
"Wh..what is it Gaia? You can tell me."

I slowly looked up. Bringing my hand to his face again, I tilted my head a bit in curiosity. My eyes a bit clouded. I ran my thumb over his bottom lip. Staring at his lips intently. "I don't have..much to say." I felt his hand gently touch my bare side, the heat eminating from my air chilled skin, yet I felt so incredibly warm.

Robert swallowed hard as Gaia looked into his eyes, as if exploring him, studying him.
He suddenly realized that his hand was upon her side...but she did not seem to object.
Gaia's fingers began tracing his face again.
Slowly, his heart punding, Robert bend slightly down...until their lips touched.
