What’s the next step to US oil companies taking control of Venezuela oil reserves?

As Trump said, that is the actual goal:

“return to the United States of America all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us”

By “us” he means oil companies because America itself never owned land or anything else in Venezuela.

The goal WRT Venezuela is regime change. The removal of Maduro and the installation of the duly elected president Edmundo Gonzalez.

Why? Maduro, and Chavez before him, nationalized (confiscated) properties, facilities, and bank accounts of foreign nationals US citizens and companies among them. They gutted their own oil industry by appointing incompetent cronies to oversee operations. As foreign hard capital dried up they turned to drug trafficking and then got in bed with the Chinese, Russians, and Iranians to get aforementioned hard currency. The United States, as a matter of long standing policy, is not going to tolerate any of that.

How? The blockade, which includes taking out the drug boats, is designed to apply an economic stranglehold on the Maduro regime. The drug traffickers are being dealt with rather forcefully and the sanctioned tankers will be arrested and sequestered in US ports. Those vessels not under sanction will be allowed to proceed unmolested. All quite legal. Maduro stays in power by starving and threatening his people by paying off the military and the drug cartels. As his ability to pay diminishes so does the motivation of those people to support him. It’s a waiting game.

Going forward. This is mere conjecture based on high probability outcomes. Maduro will leave power. Either by cutting a deal with the US, or assassinated by his own henchmen. Regardless how or what occurs the US will install Gonzalez. Gonzalez will immediately invite US military ‘advisors’ in to help him stabilize the government and weed out any remaining Chavez/Maduro cronies AND deal with the drug gangs. We will also help facilitate the rebuilding of the Venezuelan economy, obviously with some contractual obligations and conditions. Among those conditions will be the expulsion of the Chinese, Russians, and Iranians.

At the present reports are filtering in of explosions at Miranda airforce base from drone strikes and unconfirmed reports of the criminal president Maduro being captured......

There are millions of Venezuelans who would provide intel on drug labs which could be subject to drone strikes.
