HUGE: President Trump Considering Scaling Back USAID, Rolling Into State Dept.

By Ward Clark | 11:35 AM on February 01, 2025

On X, one user posted a screenshot of USAID's website, indicating that it was formed by executive order (EO) by President John F. Kennedy, and claiming that what one EP began, another can end. Now, it may not be that simple; President Kennedy's presidency was over 60 years in the past, and it's unclear if that original EO still stands alone.

Part of the exploring that the Trump administration is doing doubtlessly involves determining whether Congress needs to act to shutter USAID.

Great idea it's the biggest rip off of the taxpayer there is.

Well, USAID was created by EO originally, so as the article says....

Makes sense, and brings it under firm Cabinet control.

As long as he doesn't cut funding, it's within his rights

Well, USAID was created by EO originally, so as the article says....
But that EO was a way of carrying out what Congress had authorized.

USAID:

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is an independent agency of the United States government that is primarily responsible for administering civilian foreign aid and development assistance. With a budget of over $50 billion, USAID is one of the largest official aid agencies in the world and accounts for more than half of all U.S. foreign assistance – the highest in the world in absolute dollar terms.

Congress passed the Foreign Assistance Act on September 4, 1961, which reorganized U.S. foreign assistance programs and mandated the creation of an agency to administer economic aid. USAID was subsequently established by the executive order of President John F. Kennedy, who sought to unite several existing foreign assistance organizations and programs under one agency.[4] USAID became the first U.S. foreign assistance organization whose primary focus was long-term socioeconomic development.

USAID's programs are authorized by Congress in the Foreign Assistance Act,[5] which Congress supplements through directions in annual funding appropriation acts and other legislation. As an official component of U.S. foreign policy, USAID operates subject to the guidance of the president, secretary of state, and the National Security Council.[6] USAID has missions in over 100 countries, primarily in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe.

In January 2025, President Donald Trump ordered a near-total freeze on all foreign aid.[7][8] Several days later the secretary of state issued a waiver for humanitarian aid.[9][10] Despite the waiver, there was still much confusion about what agencies should do.[11]

This sounds like Trump does not want to place USAID under State, but to shut it down entirely.

Looks like USAID is gone.....

President Donald Trump shut down the embattled government agency tasked with humanitarian relief overseas after he and Elon Musk agreed the organization was 'beyond repair'. Staff were shocked when they woke up Monday morning to emails instructing them to stay out of the agency's D.C. headquarters. 'It became apparent that it's not an apple with a worm it in,' Musk said of the six-decade U.S. international aid and development agency. 'What we have is just a ball of worms. You've got to basically get rid of the whole thing. It's beyond repair.'

USAID staffers said they tracked 600 employees who reported being locked out of the agency's computer systems overnight. Those still in the system received messages to their work emails saying 'at the direction of Agency leadership' the headquarters building 'will be closed to Agency personnel on Monday, Feb. 3.'

 "Criminal organization"?

Is the Peace Corps next?
Absolutely a criminal organization. Look at what they have done....

We are not even 2 weeks into Trump’s administration, and the USAID is already being purged, and now Elon is openly pointing out the USAID’s role in producing bioweapons like C19 that killed millions. If we continue on this trajectory, Deep State oligarchs and NGOs will be directly implicated in crimes against humanity, and the world will demand justice.

Don't forget, USAID is a major operator in funding the NGOs who sent 20 million "refugees" to crash the border. We have terror cells here because of them. We have Narco terror groups here because of them (same thing). We have hyperviolent rapists and murderers here because of them. USAID is complicit in actively funding all of this.

A criminal organization indeed.

The latest that just dropped is Zelensky saying that Ukraine never received over half the aid that the US claimed to have sent. So where did it all go? If people are saying it was for weapons, they haven't got half the weapons the US committed to deliver either. Seems like even more corruption within the government.

Deep State
You are an idiot.
We have terror cells here because of them.
Lie.
We have Narco terror groups here because of them (same thing).
Not the same thing. And not because of USAID.
We have hyperviolent rapists and murderers here because of them.
Lie.
