As very northern ice declines the methane enshrouded in Siberia will begin to be released. Leading to more heating and more ice loss. It’s the tipping points we need to be concerned about, there hasn’t been one yet
but we’ve been warned.
I once read an SF story, from the 1930s, in which volcanic eruptions cause all Central America to sink beneath the sea. This disrupts the Gulf Stream and brings an ice age to Europe. One character points out Rome is at the same latitude as New York -- only the Gulf Stream makes it warmer. And then there is the danger posed by the ocean’s Thermohaline circulation being disrupted / shut off due to ocean warming causing the Thwaites glacier, etc to melt.
Ironically, shutting off the ocean’s Thermohaline circulation could plunge the UK and parts of Europe & North America into a severe, long lasting cold spell (disrupting forests, farming & fisheries, etc).

The issue with a lot of that is there is so much guess work in it.

Wait....so there's a NEW kind of "crystal meth"?And then there is this:
Crystalized methane, known as methane hydrate, is found on the ocean floor and can pose a danger as ocean temperatures rise. Warming can cause these hydrates to dissociate, potentially releasing methane, a potent greenhouse gas, into the atmosphere, which could exacerbate climate change.
