Good question.

I've met some of the people I know online. On more than one occasion there was a certain amount of disappointment involved because of disparities between the descriptions given and the reality...

...but that doesn't happen often. I think meeting people online is easier than in real because there's less initial embarrasment. You never feel "Ohh s/he's never talk to me, s/he's too good looking" etc etc etc, you just wade in with the conversation and see what develops.

Also, people on line are generally speaking better at sex than those who just hang around in bars. Maybe we try harder. Or read more and experiment more.

Or maybe I've just been really, really lucky.
