Sounds bigger than my house! Couldn't fit all that lot in... room for a pc with internet?? 😉😉

It's 13.5 metres by 5 roughly 225 square feet in old money, and yes, there will be a desk for my laptop (most workshop manuals are on line nowadays and they are free) and a percolator for the caffeine fix, and an undercounter fridge for when 5 o'clock comes . . . did I mention that there's going to be a shower room with a toilet?

If it does piss it down we are all heading for someones new shed. What goes on/off in the shed, stays in the shed. Unless its summer.

You will be welcome in mine, please help yourself to a cuppa or, if you prefer, there's some cold beer in the fridge under the computer desk.:D

Morning, already roasting here but too far to Bournemouth... what an embarrassing scene that was, makes you proud to be British... not!

Think the old money calculation makes it 750 sq feet or something of that ilk? Makes it ever more impressive! Shower room a boon too, bed in the corner and it's an apartment!

I stand corrected 726 square feet to be more precise . . . . yes it's spacious . . . . no room for a bed in the corner though, but one can probably fit in the loft area:)

That must be costing a small fortune!!!!!! Are you building it yourself?

I would 'like' (dream') of a similar workspace down the garden (overlooks a river).. my idea was a 'large' shed type affair..... ideally to house enough workspace for a good sized computer and 2 large monitors... but then also the floor space to be used for 'small' studio shots... photography// video ... even the idea of having a translucent roof to allow soft light in...

I did look at some ideas / large sheds.. but for something bespoke and to add power etc... I soon realised that i shall be sticking to my current set up... double bedroom space ;) (no bed!) ;)

Bright and warm thanks ☀️
Much better than yesterday thankfully
I can’t go through another night like last night

How are you?

Yesterday was good here... but too hot..
Today similar but not quite as 'oppressive'
I have managed the last two nights.. sleeping on top of the covers / window open only to wake up at 5am ish feeling the chill - but reasonable sleep.

Worst thing is I am busyish stuck in front of an edit system potentially for the next 4 weeks or so!!! But will take 30min breaks and step outside.

I've been waiting for a storm all day and still no sign. I don't know about the rest of you, but I could do with one.

Yes, it's a self build, and for the size of it it's not too expensive; I have a good timber supplier locally, the shiplap, 2 pallets of, cost me 2 grand, the roofing panels 1,700 and the concrete base, including the steel for reinforcement about 2,500, concrete floor paint £190.00.

I kitted the bathroom out with items purchased on eBay. £500.00 all told. Wall insulation and plasterboard another grand, new consumer unit for the electricity and wiring £300.00, also from eBay; lighting (led floodlights) £150.00, heating by infrared ceiling mounted panels £450.00, got these from Bang-Good, remote control roller shutter on one end £1,750 from a local supplier, upcycled residential doors and double glazed windows from "Freegle",

But the most expensive single item, £3,700.00, was 400 square metres of "Ecogrid" for the drive, as currently the ground from the road to the back of my garden is far too soft and gets really soggy between October and March.

Add a couple of hundreds for things like nails, screws, hinges and sundries it worked out at £20.00 per square foot, obviously my labour is free and a couple of friends helping me out they only cost me a couple of sandwiches a day and a few cans of beer, and we are having fun at the same time, We should be done by the end of July, I promise that I will post a couple of pictures of the finished item.

Anyhow, good morning all, hoping for a refreshing thunderstorm overnight, but it never happened, had to change the bed clothing in the middle of the night and turn the mattress over because it was soaked in sweat. Nothing like a refreshing shower at 1am, I surely didn't help matters along by nearly getting sunburned yesterday as I was working on my "project".

Looks like another scorcher of a day for laterz, will need to ask my long suffering SO to spread some factor 100 on my back before I turn into an overdone rump steak.:D

Good morning All, you'll be happy to know it's raining in the lakes....they needed it.

Wet in Yorkshire too, trying to pick the point of the day to fit an hours ride in... 16 miles min needed to keep the average up! Guess I am going to be wet later...

Serious job then!!!! Good skills to have and sounds like an 'enjoyable' and 'rewarding' project.

I think if i were to build my own - the idea crossed my mind ... but i think i would end up describing it as an 'art installation' s opposed to a workspace!!!!

Wish you well with it - will be good to see the end product.

Woken at 3 by pounding rain, plants flat in the garden, lawn long and too wet to mow... damn, must mean more coffee is needed. At least the beaches are less crowded 😊

Afternoon. Cycled 21 miles this morning and literally got all four seasons. My least favourite was about 2 miles from home when bright blue sky before the heavens unleashed their fury for about 4 minutes before the the sunshine returned.

Really appreciated that 😂

What an awful weekend! Horizontal rain on Saturday, drier on Sunday but still gale force wind . . . so couldn't play with my new erection in the back garden.

That was Saturdays ride for me, waited until after 7 last night to pop out for a quick 15 miles and still it blew... and work ride in now, south west wind for me to head into. June has not been great

Hoping it's still standing EL, not a great weekend for getting things up !

Good morning all.. here's to another week of..............

a - Lockdown madness
b - UK'ers abuisng their 'freedoms' !!
c - mixed weather
d - the best storms ever

I'm much happier in these cooler conditions. My house is unbearable when the temperature goes beyond 25C.

Good day UK

Not a lot going on... is it anticipation of this weekends 'release' !!???

Apologises to those form Leicester (local'sih to me!!) who are going thru it all the more at present.

What's happening in leicester is proof that the easing of lockdown measures are implemented too early.
