Back in lockdown soon, probably not by 11th but... and there are many who either don't give a toss or who are taking the opportunity... illegal raptor persecution gone up five fold, people with guns shooting on any land they fancy, fly tipping up hugely, people taking diggers into nature reserves to build their own mountain bike jumps, civil disobedience of many norms of our pleasant society, and then we open the pubs.

Makes you proud to be British ? I know there are huge numbers of people doing the right thing but the increase of those doing the wrong thing is frightening

Last week, since the start of the pandemic there were 112 confirmed cases of Covid-19 confirmed in Fenland, today it's 202 . . . 42 of which at the local Princes (formerly Smedley) food canning factory.

I'm glad to see that people have gone the extra mile and helped their communities. I'd like to think that they'll carry on looking after each other in the future.

People at some levels have always looked after the local community and each other.... my 'life' experience is that since many people got 'richer' and earnings got higher... it tends to be at the lower end of the pay scales that this kind of support is given regardless of reason for benefit for themselves....
To see the PM asking for people to 'applaud' fuckin bankers whilst nurses and careers are dying to save lives... for in some cases ridiculously low wages is the kind of thing that defeats me... Shows where those with the power are focused.

Also, like many of you here, I am not at all happy about the easing up of this lockdown. It's too soon. I will be staying in.

Morning all, a happy bunch indeed, and I include myself in there somewhere! Whilst the additional 'freedoms' are nice to see coming back it's hard to feel positive about the virus having gone, or being under control. I don't envy those judging the balance between economic meltdown which could lead to mass unemployment and mental and physical health issues, and the virus lockdown. Hindsight suggests locking down earlier would have been better but isn't hindsight always perfect?

Everyone knew locking down sooner would have helped. China just tried to deny their was a virus, or it was their fault. America has a white supremacist moron as President, and the UK has a bargain basement version who also hasn’t got a clue. In all cases economic reasons were the reason they wouldn’t lock down. As a noted scientist said, “You can fix the economy. We can’t bring people back from the dead though.”

SitRep, the casinos remain open while fitness studios were ordered to close again. Now the owner of a chain of fitness studios tried to sue the governor, which a judge said they cannot do, and everyone is pissed off. Probably headed to the nearest casino as we speak to drown their sorrows and infect everyone there.
