UK Online Directory. v9.

Morning from Denmark as well.. well, soon noon. 😂

We are packing and packing, now wth the additional list from from "Vejdirektoratet" and "Beredskabsstyrelsen".

Driving from our lovely island to a bigger island apparently warrants these items in the car:
Normal safety equipment.
A shovel.
Warm blankets.
Extra food and water.
Fully charged mobile phones.
..
And so on.

Sigh, there is no way around it - School starts Monday, we have to get back to the capital today (waiting until tomorrow would not make any sense.. it is only going to snow even more.)

❄️❄️❄️🚙❄️❄️❄️
Safe home sweetheart ❤️

Yes! I actually drove in heavy snow for the first time today. It wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. I have winter tyres on my car.
Snow in quite forgiving if you have the right set of tires. A bit more slippery than gravel I think, but you can drive faster than you think. But it's always better to be on the safe side as usual.
But if it gets too deep it becomes a problem. That is the biggest problem were I live. The drifting snow builds up and gets so deep that you are at risk of getting stuck. And if one gets stuck, it will soon look like this. The pic is from last year 30 km from were I live.

I hope you got home safe.
The weather on this side of the strait is no good for the traffic. The highway between Malmö and Helsingborg has just open again after several accidents.
But it is beautiful and lights up the darkness. I love the snow! :)
And it's fun to drive in when there is no one around.......

We got home safe, it took longer than normal.. but while it was okay'ish some places, then other areas were like driving on soap.

- Alexandrines bridge, that was pretty slippery. And then again the Hovedstadsområdet and København, where the roads were rather awful. Too cold, too much snow.. the salting of the streets were almost just making it worse, black ice under the slush.. ugh.

Oh well, we are home, unpacked.. and with a ton of laundry! 😆

We saw quite a few cars.. Laying on their roof, wheels in the air.. there was even a sneplov - stuck in the snow!

Well, we laughed, talked, drove slowly and carefully, luckily the car is a decently comfortable model, and everyone was dressed as if we were on our way over the strait for some skiing! 😂❄️❤️

But something I seriously love about the snow, actually I love almost everything about it 🙈 but the silence!!! The city becomes so quiet and tranquil. ❄️🥰❄️

(Beredskabsstyrelsen og Trafikstyrelsen anbefaler at man undgår unødig udkørsel 😅)

Yup.. good tires are essential.. up here you will get a hefty find if your tires are unsuitable for the weather (several thousand kroner per tire).

But, if the snow gets too deep, or if it freezes to ice.. well, then even the softest and most deeply profiled tires will not do you any good.
(We have snow "socks" and chains in the trunk, and have used them when going to Sweden. The socks (for the tires) would probably have been a good idea when we reached the capital.)

That photo.. you could have taken that here in Denmark today.

I'm glad you got safely home.

Same here. Between 1/12 and 31/3 you must have winter tires if the weather is......well, winter.

We have one car with studded tires and the other with all weather tires for nordic purpose. And chains in the trunk.

I haven't been out on the roads today, so I don't know how bad it is, but the traffic radio did interrupt all the time about the conditions.

That was a year ago. But the wind in combination with the snow can often be a problem here.

... Well... Sometimes you need to get to your destination. 😂

Also:

Goodnight and sweet dreams. ✨❄️😴

Yes I get that but surely sometimes you look at the snow and think it’s best to park up?

Glad you got back safe and hope the Smurfs and cat shared their journey ok
