Actually, AA - I am slaving over a hot Mac at the moment, working on some exhibition graphics, but I've still got time to talk to you . . .
;)

So you've pulled a sicky, Hmm, hehe.

Me well I'm actually waiting for a phone call, (mobile of course with this line tied up), about a job I'm supposed to be doing today, beginning to hope it doesn't arrive, lovely day for a rest.

What's your job by the way?

Under the table . . .

Awww thanx Higher! I didn't mean to imply that anyone was skiving off - I do a lot of my work from home too.
What graphics package do you use BTW? I use Corel 10 at the moment - pretty good stuff if you ask me! :D

Pop - I am a teacher (YR-Y2). Have been signed off work (my GP says till the end of term....that's what she thinks!) due to what she terms, post bereavement depression.
Lost my surrogate Dad last month which was difficult for me and to top it all, went away for a romantic weekend with my man (this weekend just gone) and he up and left me.
Literally.
One minute he was lying on the bed next to me, stroking my face telling me how much he adored me and wanted to spend his life with me, I had a shower and when I came out I found him and his bags gone. Half an hour later I had a text message to say he thought I was lovely but he couldn't see me any more. And that was it. He left me dazed and confused in a strange country....and he left me the hotel bill too.
Goddess, I thought I knew him so well - I am still stunned.
Cannot face the outside world yet, not till I have healed myself...at least a little.

So there you have it, probably more information than you needed or indeed wanted but I am not pulling a sicky!

Oh and in case you are wondering....no he hasn't been in touch to explain. He won't take my calls, answer my texts or anything. I have become Persona Non Grata and I have no idea why.
And it hurts like hell.

Sounds like you need cheering up!

Hello again, AA!

I use mainly Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop, on a G4 Mac - I've never used Corel, but I've heard they've improved it a lot lately . . . :)

Sorry to hear about your weekend - what a bastard! Hey - we'll do our best here to cheer you up a bit - even a cyber shoulder to cry on, if you want . . .

When a teacher closes her eyes, why should it remind her of an empty classroom ?
Because there are no pupils to see !

I know, I know - I'm sorry!!

:D

GROANNNN......terrible joke but hey, it made me smile! Thank you Higher. >hug<

I have the Adobe programs you mentioned and they are both good..in fact I used to prefer them to Corel until last year when I tried Corel 8....immediately upgraded to 10! Don't think I will bother with 11 tho...they probably won't develop anything significant until 13 now! Hehehe!

Do you ever work with animations? I run a web club for some of my older pupils at school - they design the school website - and at the moment I am teaching them to animate.....they adore it!
Actually, when I say at the moment, I naturally mean until last week! But they have enough to be going on with!

How long have you been doing graphics?
Gosh, I am just so nosey....this is all to keep my mind from sinking into oblivion, you understand (plus, I am of course very interested in other people!).

Oh, something I wanted to ask...how do you rate Macs over PCs? (Apart from the obvious aesthetic qualities!) For some time I have been considering changing but I have just built myself a super-PC so it seems a bit wasteful. A lot of my friends that are into design swear by Macs. Are they better than all this Microshite stuff????

Hi all, another new face for the Brits. I usually stay in SRP but I have some time on my hands so I'm branching out a bit.

Pops the kettle on, "Anyone for a cuppa?"

Yeh - one sugar in mine!

Shall we listen to some Pink Floyd while we're waiting? If I'm not mistaken, your signature is from "Pigs On The Wing" from "Animals"?

Haven't listened to Pink Floyd for a while - I'll have to dig the cd's out again.

Anyway, just like to say hi to another Brit in our little family. Come on in - the water's lovely!

;)

Hi all and thanks for the welcome.

Hi Pops, I'm great, thanks for asking.

higherlevel, yep it's Pigs on the Wing Part 1. I got dragged along to see Roger Waters live last year and I've been hooked ever since.

Hey - it's never boring here Pops! We're just so laid back, that's all - we're all just getting to know one another, after all . . .

;)

It's not boring here at all Pops, I'm here so I can chat to a few people on the same time as me. You never know if I hang around here long enough I might get to bed before 1am.

Lady of leisure?

How come you're a lady of leisure then? Or are you doing what I'm doing - and should be working instead?

:D

I'm off sick at the moment, had an op a couple of weeks ago and I'm supposed to off till the middle of next month but I've given up and I'm going back next week. I never ever thought I would be bored at home but you can only do things so many times during the day.

Get well soon, then . . .

I discovered literotica by chance and its been no end of fun for me . Some of the stories are a bit OTT (like the nitewriter) but in the main, a high standard of porn. I'm based in the greater London area Single male White with all my teeth at 50 years old.
I've always had the desire to write so I'll be submitting a story soon. Are you guys writers or just readers?
Regards Tim

Welcome to Lit, Tim! Nice to see more Brits out there joining our party . . .
As far as the reader/writer thing goes, I think we're a mixed bunch as far as I can see - I think there's probably a frustrated writer in all of us, don't you think?

:)

Where are you Miss KitKat?

Well, it's 5.15pm here in Britland and what we all want to know is when the infamous ChocolateHarlot is going to log on . . .

CH, CH, come out to play . . .
