Welcome tintarron, we're a nice bunch so do join in our rather strange discussions (we're so un-lit like at the moment).

Phar, to get an avatar, you need 100 posts.

eta: Shit, Love hina was made into an ANIME! And was translated!! I wonder what sort of time it airs--it's got some pretty perverted stuff in it (stumbling into girls in baths, girls getting undressed, girls touching, a lot of girls. Horny teenage boy fantasy kind of story). Right, there's even Love Hina trading cards. WOAH.

Thanks for the hello, Marsipanne. :) I wonder how long it will take a quiet sort like myself to get to 100 posts.... :/

Just say hello every morning and good evening and add in random stuff and it'll add up pretty quickly. Or you could just ramble endlessly about yourself, what you did today etc. like me.

Welcome tintarron, leeds ugh, might be goin to visit a friend there soon, apparently there is a road with loads of pubs and its impossible to get from one end to the next stopping for a drink in each establishment
umm, have asked before but do people here have msn,

Hi Nemasis E :)

Phar - do you mean the Headingley Mile? I went on a pub crawl down there once back when I didn't drink, ushering drunken mates across roads. Now I do drink I prefer lots and lots of wine and no pubs. yeah I have MSN, what's your nick/email/thing?

Nem mate, you can call me Nem :)

Im in Barnsley so not that far away from you :D

I'm reading essays about shoujo manga and the psychology of it etc. It's very interesting. Quite a lot of it deals with the fact that so many boys are feminised in shoujo. In fact, a very famous manga written in 1974 by Hagio called 'The Heart of Thomas' about a suicidal homosexual boy, was made into a live-action movie. Guess what, the boys were played by girls. I doubt you get manga-pretty boys out there in real life. Actually, Orlando Bloom is manga-pretty. It's why he's so popular.

How to tell if something is shoujo or not in two easy steps: the male protagonist is so gorgeous/cool/tall/beautiful/pretty/handsome/stunning etc. that you can't take your eyes off him.
2: he's in love with the female protagonist.

So, Angel Sanctuary is shoujo, and so is Magic Knights of Rayearth, Wish, Cardcaptors... but Chobits and Love Hina aren't. Gosh, so strange. I mean, Angel Sanctuary has REALLY edgy stuff. Let's start off with the severe violent outbursts from the male protag, then you add up the angst of his passionate love and desire for his beautiful little sister, and then you add up the fact he's being hunted by angels, and that people's heads are exploding. Yup. This goes with Cardcaptors. So odd...

Haha was wondering what to call you. Nice to meet you, Nem, can I add you on Yahoo? Yeah, Barnsley's close but I have no sense of UK geography....barely been around England though I'm actually in the U.S at the moment visiting a friend.

Im still in England and have to be up at 7 am lol

Argh! I hate limited internet access! Grrr! I'm never going to get my avatar on this thing!
OK, I was referring to the mongol invasion that was mainly defeated by the weather.
Marsipanne, I like the current avatar, but if you want to change it, that rei picture semed pretty good.
Imported european anime sucks compared to the stuff japan keeps for itself. My favorite at the moment is "Rouruni Kenshin - Romantic Tales from the Meiji era". Its in japanese but it has subtitles.
Its even inspired me to take up iai jutsu and kendo, been doing it for the past year or so. They're both pretty important because iai jutsu is the drawing and striking in one fluid motion (also battoujutsu) and kendo is the actual wielding the blade once its out. I am such a freak. I even have a set of katanas :D
I can speak japanese but its only been for a couple of months now and I still have trouble when people speak at speed to me. All the words get jumbled up together. I can also speak french and german. Although I cant think of much anime in either french or german. lol

Hi, been reading literotica for a while, but only just found these message boards, seems theres a lot of peeps from the UK. Well better late than never i guess.

I'm on MSN Peng2000ad or Yahoo Peng74, if anyone wants to chat.

Morning all... long time no see:) How's all the regulars, and a warm welcome to the new arrivals:D

I used to have Rorouni Kenshin backgrounds on my desktop. The art-work is nice. You know, ever since I was about six, I've always wanted to do martial arts but I think my parents worried too much about my tomboy-is-ness so I never started anything. I did hold regular fighting tournaments in primary school though, which I always won. I think it's because I drink a lot of milk, so I kick hard.

The only sort of weaponry I've got is a sword, which everybody wants to see because it's pretty and got dragons and phoenixes on it etc. But it's really scary when they go 'wow! This is so cool!' and start swinging it about haphazardly. I really want a samurai sword at the moment.

I speak some French and German too, but nothing really complicated. But, I could survive in France/Germany if I so desired. I think that France has quite a lot of anime; way more than here at any rate.

I think that because of the diversity of anime/manga, the best thing to do is to choose series based upon recommendations and your personal taste. What kind of books do you read/movies do you watch?

Actually, I might stick with Motoko for a while, just a new picture. But, I did find some really beautiful Angel Sanctuary stuff. I was thinking of not having a manga'd up avatar, but I couldn't bear to part with the stuff so.. here's one of the angel sanctuary ones (and I got more Mars ones too). If I ever feel moody, depressed, you'll know, because I'll have the creepy Angel Sanctuary stuff, like this one.

Hello everyone. How are you all? Anything good planned for the weekend?

Marsipanne. Delete some of your pm's. I know you're very popular but it won't let me send my reply through.:)

Does anyone know what the limit on PMs is? I save some (sentiment's sake?) but have no idea whether I'm close to the limit or not.

Tintarron
yeah i think thats what it was called, i'm a complete light weight so i wouldn't last that long. Where about in the states are you, went to boston and ny a few years back, Boston was amazing, went swimming in this lake, it was such a great day and there were fishes that were swimming around us... unfortunately was allergic to something and my eyes started to puff up a bit but apart from that it was cool.

Marsipanne & Plastercaster
its crazy, just about everyone seems to have a katana these days, its all these films that have been coming out from hollywood these past few years. Have to admit i've concidered getting one myself but my brain decided not to as i'll probably end up skewering myself...... which would be bad

Bobbyrock
workin the weekend away.... again, but i really enjoy it's so it cool. And yourself, anything crazy planned??

Hello pop and pengy
