J, I deleted around 20 PMs, so there should be plenty of room now.

Zuke, I think the limit is 100 but I'm not sure. I was very shocked to find one day that I had 90-something PMs because in my inbox there were only 30. Then I looked at sent items, and there were tons there.

I've tried to get myself drunk, to see where my limit is, but to be honest, I still don't know. Theoretically, I should be able to drink a LOT before falling, because my mother can drink plenty and my dad is... well, rather phenomenal when it comes to this kind of thing. He doesn't drink too often, but he's regularly challenged in China to drinking competitions. Last time, two seasoned drinkers challenged him, and lost. Now, not only did they lose, but they lost having taken tablets (more than recommended amount) to restrict the effect of alcohol. I think my dad's limit is something like one whole bottle of strong Chinese stuff (50%). not sure how much one bottle is, but I'd say it's about the same size as a regular bottle of red wine.

"How much" you can drink has a lot of variables, of course, one of which is "how much before what?" Before you can't drive safely? Before you can't sit on a bar stool safely? Before you pass out?

A typical adult male weighing 160 to 180 pounds can drink one drink (12 oz beer, 5 oz wine, 1.5 oz hard liquor) every hour and keep his blood alcohol level below 0.08%, which is the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle in many jurisdictions. Someone who weighs less can drink less before reaching that limit in a pretty much straight-line corelation. If you start with a full stomach, you can delay the rate at which alcohol is absorbed at first, but if you're going to be drinking all night long that won't keep helping.

Some people have better coordination to begin with, and some keep their coordination and reaction times at somewhat higher blood alcohol levels, but that 0.08% limit is pretty consistant across populations. What does seem to vary a lot from one person to another is how high a blood-alcohol level they can have without falling asleep. Some people go from very drunk to dead from alcohol poisening without passing out.

yeah i think thats what it was called, i'm a complete light weight so i wouldn't last that long. Where about in the states are you, went to boston and ny a few years back, Boston was amazing, went swimming in this lake, it was such a great day and there were fishes that were swimming around us... unfortunately was allergic to something and my eyes started to puff up a bit but apart from that it was cool.

well a few things that aren't really that interesting... looking for a job etc.
talking obout bands, goin to the roadhouse (manchester) to see a friends band in a few weeks. The 5,6,7,8's (japanese girl band: soundtrack to kill bill) are playin there on the 26th of this month if anyone's interested, it should be good.... if you can get tickets, at £7 its reasonable

A movie I want to watch real bad at the moment: Batman Begins. Yes, I know it hasn't finished filming, but I still want to see it!

they are a cool band. I'm sure they are a 1 hit wonder over here though. Very clever though. A 12 bar blues would normally be laughed at but not when it's played by attractive asian girls. Manchester's a bit far to go just to drool though.

The Bourne supremacy wasn't very good i'm afraid. Like the first one, it pretended to be more complicated than it was. Ok though but the ends didn't quite tie up with the first one.

Batman begins looks amazing though. I downloaded a trailer and Christian bale will make a perfect hero.

Chronicles of Riddick was good. If only for the Arnie factor. (a muscley guy saying cheesey lines and hitting people).

Totally agree about batman begins, looks cool. Bourne ... the first one, was cooool, esp the martial arts, very realistic... my ignorant mind thought. Haven't seen the sequel. No-one has mentioned Aliens vs Predator, looks aaammmaaazzzin

As for Bourne Supremacy its depends whether you have seen the first film, which I will not say is awesome, but works very well, because you the viewer is just as confused as the character potrayed.

BS is a continutation of the same story, and spends time filling the story out for those who did'nt see the first film, so I dont know what the film is like ( because I saw the first film). but surely the story line in whaaaay better than Mission Impossible ( MI story line simply to complicated, MI2 jus plain pathetic)

But ofcourse everyone has their own opinion regarding this crop of "spy" thrillers.

Tarantino shamelessly uses other directors' cool moments (especially the siren--which I believe is from an old TV show) and hashes them all together to make his movies.

And phar, I knew they were the 5678s, that's why I mentioned it. My favourite bits of music (I don't have the soundtrack, so I can't name stuff) are: from the bit where she rides past Sophie Fatale in the motorbike up to when O-ren has just entered the dinner room in House of Blue Leaves, and also the end credits song (which is now conveniently stuck in my head--better than the Rayearth opening song at least. Okay, Rayearth is also stuck in my head now. Damn those catchy tunes!)

I'm scared of Aliens Vs Predator. In my mind it will be amazing. Two classic monsters and proven format with the comic book and game. In reality I can't escape the feeling that it's ringing the last drips out of the classic films. I could go into lots of points about it but for a start, I don't like the thought of having empathy with one of them. I think that will lose their impact and itwill happen as it is human nature when 2 are pitted against each other. Also, and probably the most important part, the directors credits include 2 fast, 2 furious.

I know he does like to emulate films and scenes he likes but for me, it was a shame. As a geek I liked spotting the references but it does annoy when people hold it up as amazingly original film making.

If it helps, bobbyrock, Harry Knowles claimed it was the least shitty of PT Anderson's flicks.

Personally, I like both the MI movies, but MI1 was better in terms of filmmaking and plot, MI2 better in terms of Tom Cruise's hair.

Kill Bill, I think, is a very cool movie, though originality can't be claimed. Tarantino knows how to hit that 'cool' note somehow, the same way anime/manga artists regularly do.

Has anybody here seen 'Equilibrium' (with Christian Bale)? I for one liked it, though it got bad reviews when it came out. Quite matrix-y, and the special effects were wanting, but I liked the overall tale (again, no originality scores, but I enjoyed it.)
