lol, I'm a pretty big eater but that's in my family for some reason. My biggest vice is crisps. If it wasn't for them I eat pretty healthily. I'm a pretty decent cook as well (even if I do say so myself), there's not really much to do with english cooking. and besides, you can always just follow a recipe. i love spicy food though, I make a pretty mean chilli con carne, most people would probably breathe fire after I make them. to give you an idea of spice level, I find phall curries mild. (phall is the hottest curry you can have, much hotter than a vindaloo). I could never be a vegetarian though. Its not like I don't understand the point of view of vegetarians, but I justify my eating of meat because it tastes nice. Make a veggie burger that tastes as good as a normal hamburger and I'll eat it but not before. I don't mean to sound cold or anything but I'm just honest with myself about my reasons. lol, mind you i've managed to convert my brother who was a veggie. Using plans B, (bacon sandwich) and D (doner kebab). lol

I own final fantasy 6, 7 and 8 as well as Zelda: a link to the past (snes version), Zelda: ocarina of time (n64 version), Zelda (number 1, pc emulation) and Zelda: The windwaker (Gamecube). I love the series, especially the music. Not fond of the latest one though. I dislike cell shading on games. Makes them look too kiddy.

I've got and like some of the Zelda games.. the original on the gameboy, Ocarna of Time on N64 and the other 2 they brough out on Gameboy Advanced.

Hope you 2 have a good talk cos Im off to bed, getting up early tomorrow.

Have a good night when you go :)

I used to eat more than I do now. Nowadays, I eat much, much less, but I am still regularly given the 'how do you eat that much?' question and look. I think the time when you eat the most is at the outbreak of puberty. Heh, then, I was able to eat 20 sausages in one sitting (plus some chips, cucumber etc.). Nowadays, I could easily do 10 but I rarely eat that much (especially sausages) because I get so thirsty afterwards and drink so much water I feel bloated. Generally, men eat more than women, but among women, I think I probably count as a big eater, definitely.
wow, thats a lot. I haven't ever eated that many sausages in one sitting...... but i recon i could, eventhough i might feel sick afterwards, not because of the quantity, just the sausages. I've had a thing called a "mega buster" in The all night diner in brighton. It has (if memory serves me correct), 2x sausages, 2xburgers, 2xeggs, 2x black pudding (urrrgggh), chips, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes... i think thats it.

Man, I love spicy food! I don't know how much I can take exactly but recently I've been quite literally bombarding my tongue with the stuff (and subsequently killing off taste buds--the more chilli you eat, the more you can stand it). There's nothing I like more than to set my mouth on fire. It's just so much fun, and it tastes great too. I love curry, any kind. I love chilli con carne too. In fact, I love all food. Apart from brussell sprouts. The only way I eat them is to cut them into tiny pieces and add lots of chilli.

Oh, and I'm sure I could manage the 'mega buster'. Of course, I'd feel really sick afterwards, but I could manage. Thing is, I have a 'don't want to waste food' mentality. If I buy it, I force myself to eat all of it.

Yeah I know what you eman about the 'starvation mode'

I do eat on a regual basis but no matter how few calories I eat I still gain weight :(

I used to be anorexic looking before I was a teen then puberty made me pile on the pounds and here I stand.

Enjoy eating Marsipanne ;)

thats tough, i had a friend who went through anorexia, it was.... don't know what to say, i wish she had more support than she had

Evening all, (says it in traditional british coppers voice)
what a day eh? rain sun rain sun and finally rain again god dont you just love the british summer!!
phar- thanks for the advice, the gym is somewhere i should spend more time in anyway so i know your right, swimming is one of the things i had planned to get into first so i'll just take it steady. The challenge is accepted by the way if we ever get to a meet your on:D
I would have to agree with the consensus on vegetarianism too, i just love meat too much, a nice thick juicy fillet steak mmm...
Marsi- i'll say one thing, chocolate mmmmm.
No thunder or lightening round here but then im usually a sound sleeper, in fact when i was younger and still living with my parents the family next door came home from the pub put the deep fat fryer on for some chips then fell asleep and set the place on fire, sirens, blue flashing lights and general noise and who slept through all of it? yep me.
Plasma- you consider a phall to be mild? man i thought my stomach was made of cast iron but yours has to pure titanium, i take my hat off to you!
I'm not a big fan of the modern FF games, prefer the old skool forms, they seem to be a bit of style over substance but thats just my opinion.
Zelda Wind Waker i actually like the cel shaded look, it gives far more expression to the face in my opinion (again), just out of interest the new game due out next year see's a return to the realistic look of the Ocarina of Time, i have to admit the footage i've seen looks breathtaking. I also agree with you on the music (see we do agree on somethings) its absolutely amazing, it gives so much gravity to what is "just" a game.
Marsi- Goldeneye, now theres another blast from the past, that and its sequel perfect dark were totally ahead of their time, just about every FPS since has taken some parts of those two games, even now after how ever many years it is i still play perfect dark with my girlfriend, shes almost as good at it as me sometimes she kicks my butt and wont let me forget it.
WOW how long have i been rambling on for? got work tomorrow so i'll say goodnight all and dont have nightmares.

Yeah, I have read Memoirs of a Geisha - it's a good book, I hope that they do it justice if they make a film out of it.

Morning everyone,

Hope you had a goodnight, finally stopped raining here :)

Boy im tired tho, really need to start sleeping more when im getting up at 7am, lol

Hope you all have a good day and i'll see you later

when it comes to food i can be a real human dustbin. I've got the stomache of a goat so even tin cans aren' a bother to me, although they do cut my gums up pretty bad lol. I do find phalls mild though, that's why I always use faaaar too much chilli powder when I make chilli. But I always try to tone it down for anyone else. When i was back in uni I made (what I thought) was a dull and flavourless chilli with almost no spice in it whatsoever. The flatmate I shared it with couldn't finish it because it was too spicy. I guess he just wasn't used to it. wuss. lol. he did have a good collection of Transformers DVDs though. Ah, the memories. lol, they should re-show the original Transformers series.

sorry marsipanne, never even heard of 'Memoirs of a Geisha' but I did see the pics and they are cute ladies. I'm pretty sure that Zhang Ziyi was in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon though. Either that or I know her from somewhere else

anyway, I have koi to feed so I'll speak later.

Hiya, morning all.

Yep, Zhang Ziyi was in Crouching Tiger.

Nem, I got up at 12 am today.. I couldn't get to sleep until about 4am last night. Really sucks.

Hi everyone,

I was up at 7am... and went to bed at 2am Marsipanne.

Hope you all havign a good day so far, the weather has not been bad today, well we had rain but that has since gone.

Have a great evening everyone :)

Well I'm an insomniac so I rarely get to sleep until 1 and I'm always up before 8. I've actually gone 6 days without sleep. You know after a while you start hallucinting? Completely true.

I knew i needed sleep when my shoes told me I looked tired.

6 days without sleep...
...
man, I don't think I'd be able to make it. I can go with 3, 4 hrs sleep and be more energetic than those who've slept 12hrs though. I've a friend who's always sleepy, I swear. She sleeps at 9pm, wakes at 7. I sleep at 1am, wake at 8 and in the morning I'm always lively and she's always 'need sleep, need sleep'.

well insomnia is something you get used to. After all, i've had it for 14 years. I'm usually pretty lively even though i never get any sleep though

At the moment, I'm trying to sort of, spread my wings, go to other boards. Namely, 'General Board', which is, rumour has it, troll-ridden and clique-filled.

Wish me luck.

Good morning everyone....how are you all on this fine english morning, at least its not raining today.

Here's hoping a wonderful day for everyone, and come on Team GB, more golds please.

But.... going to another board? I'm not sure I'm ready yet... I'm too scared! lol, don't worry about it. We're not going to hold a grudge against you marsipanne. Well, not a big one anyway. :D

And as for being a 'fine english morning' I think most of us have lived in england long enough to realise that a 'fine english morning' is one where it doesn't rain until 10. lol, but seriously the weather is fine and i have gardening to do (at least until i either get published, become a game designer, song writer, actor or the King (ah thank ya very much) probably for the best, white and spangly doesn't really suite me)

Anyway, see ya'll later.

Well it wuldn't be england without the rain.Nothing like beautiful green rolling hills and fields, small villages with thatched roofs....as the song says...." in englands green and pleasent land".....oh and can't forget a nice cup of english tea!

Still, i wouldn't mind a few days of sunshine.....please Michael Fish, sort it out!

Hi everyone

Good for you Marsipanne don't worry there are nice boards out there, and Plaster im on about 15 threads, lol there is nothing to be scared of.

Not gonna be on too much today tho, not well, got a cold, headaches and stomach pains.

Have a good day everyone

UK READERS

Hi, sorry to come to this so late but I'm quite new.

I live in Edinburgh and love this site.

Hiya Haldir, I think I've seen you around here and there (the name is recognisable--have a thing for long blond-haired Elves). Welcome to the thread!

I've started Blackwood Farm by Anne Rice. The front cover of it.... Tarquin Blackwood is so pretty. I crushed on him immediately when he described himself as 'too pretty, really'. He is gorgeous, but I definitely prefer Lestat over him. You know, I used to really be obsessed with Lestat. Still am, sorta. ..

Tarquin 'Quinn' Blackwood

Lestat 'Brat Prince' de Lioncourt

That picture isn't very Lestat-ish to be honest, but it's sexy nonetheless.
