Say! Instead of hunting the great black-and-white penguin, you could just bundle him up and toss him to Brinnie! Or would that constitute cruel and unusual treatment of a penguin?

Well i've never met this brinnie, is she the one with the eye patch? and if so, i'm game! :-D

Excuse me, if there is going to be an olympic sport of "Pengy Tossing" it is gonna be of the type I am expert at and it will be me winning the gold :D

Most (perhaps all) Olympic sports have separate Men's and Women's competitions. We will consider making Mixed-Doubles a demonstration sport for 2012. (Mixed-Triples are covered in a different Lit thread.) I have little doubt that Mark and Bluefox will make quick work of the qualifying rounds and go on to represent the UK home team at London seven years hence.

Between now and then I would encourage them to practice. Laurels are to be won, not rested upon. In order to keep their penguin-tossing practice moving along efficiently, someone will need to retrieve the penguin and bring it back for the next toss.

Now, in the US we have a term for retrieving golf balls, base balls, tennis balls, frisbees -- whatever -- that have been hit or thrown in practice. It's called 'shagging'. Really. Teenagers get paid to shag golf balls at driving ranges. Coaches shag ground balls at batting practice.

So we need a volunteer to help Mark and Bluefox at practice.

Who wants to shag the penguin?

Penguin Tossing should be open to anyone.

Shaggers might all be female, of course. You can be in charge of applications, interviews, and auditions.

Oh, and yeah, Brinnie's the one who looks like she's been shagging javelins....

Nope, nope, nope! You're the one TOSSING the penguin, you need someone else to retrieve him for you!

Smileys I wish I had

OK, if the powers that be are paying attention:

Besides the dancing zucchini / dancing cucumber smiley, what I really need is a smiley with a flat spot in the middle of the forehead from all the times it's slapped itself. Call it 'doh'. Then one with hunched shoulders. Call it 'dunno'.
