Speaking from experience witchie. Trust me, no matter how amazingly good a dancer I am (and trust me, I am (I'm even better with a pole :D)) fat men should NOT dance. lol, its against the law. Its like straight men who go shopping with women, yeah it can happen but its misery for all if it happens.

I go clothes shopping with my wife from time to time -- when she's looking for a party dress or something like. It's only misery when there's nothing good-looking to buy, which does happen. But sometimes I wind up encouraging her to buy something a little flashier than she would be willing to buy on her own; I buck up her confidence in how attractive she looks.

Look, I'm resigned to the fact that you aren't going to pole dance for me. But if you don't stop knocking yourself I will have to get tough !

And for the record, I hate shopping.

OK, I'll let other people do it for me by putting it to a vote.

Should fat men dance?

Yay or nay?

Good morning Plas

 You just don't know when to give in do you ?? :p

Give in? That's something you should do only when every other course of action is denied to you. Sometimes its better to die than to give in, like when you're defending your beliefs or the people you care about.

Is this about calling myself fat?

Yes, it is, like I said, stop putting yourself down. :)

Its an adjective. Would you prefer me to use a more politically correct term? Like chubby or large or stout or big? All means the same thing in the end. Perhaps you'd prefer medical terms? Obese? Overweight? Let me know what's good for you.

I'm not going to put my fingers in my ears, close my eyes and go 'nah nah nah nah nah' and pretend the world doesn't exist and what is, isn't.

Don't assume that because I know I'm fat I think its a bad thing. I know other people don't like fat people, it only takes a look at a perfume ad or a calvin clein poster to see that. I like being a fat guy, weighed up against my options I think its the best choice for me. (no pun intended)

When i say I'm fat I say it because its the truth, the fact is I weigh 19 stone. If I actually didn't like how I was I would just get rid of the weight. I would spar more, run regularly. Its not exactly difficult while I'm unemployed.

I give up

As you should.

After all, I'm right. :D

I'm not going to feel sorry for the fact that I'm fat, and I'm not going to pretend I'm not fat either. But then, I'm also not going to pretend that I think being thin is actually important. Most people I know would look better if they gained a few pounds.

We live in a society where your value as a person is based on what you look like, I don't like it but its how humans are, but then I'm not going to change because everyone says I should.

If someone finds fat people repulsive (like the majority of people in the world) then that's fine with me. I'll just acknowledge you for the small minded little moron that you are and ignore you.

All I want is an easy life, if it means I don't get hassled in a club, then I wont dance. Even better, I'll go to a club where people are judged as individuals and where personality is more important than looks and where your background, race, attitudes and weight are unimportant. Yay for goth clubs and alternative minded people!

All I'm saying is, that's not just who you are. But as you're already a megalomaniac I'll not pamper to your ego and list your other qualities here :p

Never said it was, but its a part of me. like being tall, or having brown hair. And I'm not about to pretend my hair is blonde when it isn't.

Have you seen the way most people treat blondes ??? I wouldn't be a blonde if you paid me.

And yet people dye their hair blonde every day.

Have you seen the way fat people are treated? I can't remember any blondes being insulted by Chavs as they walk along the other side of the road or from cars that drive past.

That's been my experience as a fat person, but I'm happy the way I am and no matter how many fools decide its funny to shout 'fat bastard' from car windows its not going to change my lifestyle. If I want to change I'll do it on my own.

Plas,

Completely without regard to esthetics or dancing or people yelling from cars or whatever, you do need to remember that being overweight isn't healthy in the long run. Probably no big problem for a relative kid like you, but us old farts have enough trouble with our hearts and knees and all those other moving parts; more weight just means more wear-and-tear, and it's tough to undo it when you're 50.... You probably know all that, just like I knew all about the hazards of pickling my grey cells when I was 20. Just keep it mind and get a little bit better about it every year, and you'll live to be a dirty old man like me!

Z.

ps: I thought you had started a career as a greengrocer or something?

Of course, I mean that's the only reason to lose weight at all. Personally i lead a rather healthy lifestyle, I eat healthily, I exercise fairly regularly (it can be coooold outside!!) It takes a lot for me to get worn out and I can kick at head height without injuring myself. I know THIN people who have trouble doing all that. What I weigh is left over from my teens when I essentially just ate crisps.

I don't put on weight, but nor do I get it off. And personally I dont WANT to get it off. I like who i am at the moment. Should the time come when its absolutely vital that I lose the weight then sure, I'll do it but not before.

Just because you're fat it does not automatically mean that you're unhealthy I might add. Diabetes, heart conditions, kidney stones, all are common if you're unhealthy and fat but trust me, I could probably limbo lower than everyone here :D

P.S. nope, worked in a supermarket for the christmas rush, but it was temp staff. Been unemployed since christmas.

Just thought I'd take advantage of the difference in time zones to be the first to wish you all good morning.....
