Ultimate Heroes (OOC)

I soooo know what you mean...

Seeing that hammer...

THE hammer...

I can't describe what I felt.

I've always known a certain part of me never grew up.

I just didn't know, until now, that that certain part had been waiting patiently in another place.....

...a place with great halls and keeps, rolling hills, deer and boar to hunt, and the call of a mighty sentinel who tasks all who should pass across a rainbow bridge...

:: grins softly ::

I kind of whooped a little when I saw it.

There were people a couple rows behind me and I was like, woah, I don't care, this is amazing.

Like, I dunno, a child's first Christmas.

Or, no, the first Christmas in Narnia after an age of ice and snow.

Or maybe just like seeing Narnia itself for the first time.

That's how that hammer made me feel.

Like drawing a sword from a stone and casting a Ring into the fire and stepping through a Wardrobe and standing on the edge of something much too deep.

This is gonna be awesome.

wearing a ring, carrying a hammer, walking through the wardrobe, and pulling the sword from teh stone.. while a blue police box sits nearby.. and HE leans against it. "About time you showed up. I'm late for tea and jam I am."

:: hesitates, glances back over her shoulder through the branches and the coats to the open Wardrobe door, then turns to re-examine him and The Blue Box in the light of The Lamp-Post... ::

"Hey. I thought you didn't believe in magic."

"Oh, nonsense. Did I tell you I was Merlyn once?"

"No you weren't. Not really."

"Well. Sort of."

:: arches an eyebrow ::

:: he smiles that Puckish grin ::

"Tell you what we both believe in, though. T.H. White, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, G.K. Chesterton, J.K. Rowling, all those blokes and birds with two initials and a surname. We believe in a good book."

:: smiles softly ::

"That's no fiction."

"Shall we?"

"Oh, do let's."
