Water is a lousy lubricant and it washes away the natural lubrication your GF produces. It's not nearly as much fun as authors and movie makers make sound.

Underwater sex isn't likely to be physically harmful, but can increase the risk of things like yeast infections.

If water (particularly water that's "contaminated" with chlorine, soap, microorganisms, etc.) is pushed up inside the vagina, through the cervix and into the uterus and even fallopian tubes by the force of thrusting (the vagina can create enough of a seal around the cock/dildo to propel the water), it can cause serious infections, and is even thought to be a cause of endometriosis.

The vagina isn't particularly wild about soap, dirt, chlorine or bacteria, either, and is pretty likely to react with a yeast, or other infection, as Harold said. Some women are more sensitive to this kind of thing than others, but just like it's not advisable to douche or use anything but plain old water for vaginal/vulvar cleansing unless a doctor tells one to do so, it's unwise to get contaminated water in there.

So, no, it's not a good idea to have sex underwater. Grab some silicone lube and have fun with external stimulation and other foreplay activities, but get out of the water for penetration and/or stick to having sex in the shower.

As readers of my posts will know, I'm into pretty much anything. But here I agree that it can lead to all sorts of infections. Hav eyour fun underwater, we do it at the beach as well as in a spa bath, but get out for the actual penetration. Having "done it" in the water before I knew better, I'd say it pretty much is the pits. It feels more like you're rubbing on a thick rubber condom than a nice slick woman.

About the only upside to the whole thing was the rather kinky positions we seemed to accidentally get into while nearly drowning each other. By the time I came, it was relief to be done for both of us. I'd probably rate it as the second worst sex I ever had.

Even if it was safe, I'd recommend against it.

This is about how it was from my perspective, too. We did it before we knew better, but we didn't even get very far because the lube situation was so dire.

Depends on why you do it

I whole heartedly agree with SweetErica and Weird Harold about water being a lousy lubricant and a harbor for an infection. I have to be ready and it's just not the right combo of slipperiness and friction to give me an orgasm.

But...

Let's say you are in the hotel pool late ate night, or in a spot you can't really by seen, it is quite nice to have your SO inside you for the sheer pleasure of knowing what you are doing. Okay as a girl.... I did it once and it was AMAZING!!! It didnt hurt or anything, I didnt get any infections, and we could do some crazy things with the buoyancy.

Mid January, 1980. Two other friends and I went to a Frat party and got falling down drunk. Somehow, we made it back to the dorm about three in the morning, probably staggering the entire way. I have no idea how I hooked up with her, or the specifics of how she came back to my room with me.

I woke up with this pounding headache. It was the first thing that I noticed. The second thing I noticed was that there was a woman riding me.
