Except for the prices of plastic, gas, and drugs.....you're so correct.Aside from a rise in oil prices, the U.S. is the country least affected by the close of the Strait of Hormuz - it accounts for about 2% of total U.S. petroleum consumption and 7% of U.S. crude imports. Many other countries are entirely dependent on the Strait being open - China and Japan get over 90% of their oil from there. Th3ey have a fuckuva lot more at stake than we do.
Yeah, we could legitimately use some help clearing mines, but we'll get by just fine. Trump thinks the nations with the most to lose should be pitching in, but as usual, they count on the Americans to do what's necessary.
