US healthcare ranks last

How a private equity firm pillaged a chain of nursing homes and abused the residents. Now they’re using bankruptcy protection to fuck the patients again.

Two lessons from this:
  1. Private equity firms rape and kill every business they touch
  2. The goal of all facets of US healthcare is to bleed every last dollar from the American people

This is true. It’s an opinion piece written by a doctor running for the US Senate from Michigan.

It’s time for Democrats to play offense on healthcare

Medicare For All would be the easiest universal healthcare system to implement in the US.
Legally it would be easy -- because it would only be a matter of removing from existing legislation the language that says you have to be a certain age to qualify for Medicare.

Administratively it would be easy to make it work.

But politically . . . too many gored oxen. The whole private health-insurance industry and all its shareholders.

The only defense for “healthcare” is that it is an incredibly “knowledge & resource intensive sector” - and it can be nasty work in a nasty work environment. (I could say the same about the criminal justice & law enforcement sector).

Also:

With the level of care & treatment the healthcare industry has created (and keeps creating), and thus, the level of care & treatment patients (and their families) expect, it is nearly impossible to “meet the goal”.

It is what it is - unless or until people lessen their demands of / on healthcare and accept a basic universal health plan that doesn’t include extraordinary measures.

Related:

Just because advances in medical science & technology allow for some "miraculous" treatments does NOT mean they are practical or truly beneficial, imho.

And that ^ gets us back to euthanasia laws.

😑

It's very common knowledge, now, that Cuba has a better health-care system than the U.S.

Fucking embarrassing, ain't it?

Stop being lazy and demanding the easy way out because the people who are scamming our current system will figure out a way to scam Medicare For All. So fuck Medicare For All

Every facet of the US healthcare system has a goal to bankrupt Americans.

These Health Centers Are Supposed to Make Care Affordable. One Has Sued Patients for as Little as $59 in Unpaid Bills.

Community health centers like PrairieStar Health, also known as federally qualified health centers, were created to serve as medical safety nets for people who struggle to afford primary care. They were established during the Civil Rights Movement-era “War on Poverty,” when federal officials realized that low-income Americans, overwhelmed by long drives and crowded hospitals, were forgoing medical attention. The health centers receive federal grants in exchange for serving patients regardless of their ability to pay, increasing access across large swaths of the country.

Hopefully "We broke....for like the next fitty years....extra bigly!! So ya'll need to start paying for your own shit." is the only healthcare announcement we get for the next 16 years minimum.

We already have universal healthcare for elderly Americans (Medicare). Unless someone can point to Medicare’s death panels or examples of euthanasia, people need to shut up about it.

It's the Europeans and Canadians who have it.

It's a consern because Democrats are Europhilliac socialist who DESPERATELY wish they were Europeans and had a European HC model. Ya'll are happy to chop babies up as long as the paperwork hasn't yet be filed, why wouldn't you euthanize grandma?
