“It goes a long way back, overdue payments with interest, that adds up quite a bit. I would like to continue together without your ex in the back seat. Let's go for a final solution! I am willing to guarantee that you will be adequately compensated.”

"I guess, honestly never expected more then just resuming the payments"

"And yes if anyone is in the back seat it will only be me with you!!"

We finish eating
I wash the dishes real quickly

[Bluntitis]

“Yes, I am ready too! I'm curious how things are going. Maybe Margaret has very different plans with your case.”

There is parking space reserved for us under the building. I accompany you to the door of her office. When you go in I squeeze your arm and wish you luck. Than I walk towards a cup coffee in the center of the town.

“Text me when you are ready!”

I go into the office and wait in the waiting room. After what seems like forever, but really only a couple minutes I am escorted into Margaret's office.
An hour and half later I leave stunned. in my hand a cashiers check for over 100,000. with a guarantee that the payments will start up, and last for 5 years beyond the original end date.

I text you, I'm ready

 

[Bluntitis]

I call you: “Hi Sally, can you tell me, is it good or bad? I come to the office, but want to know what to expect!”

 

[Becaa57]

"It's even better then my wildest dreams!!!! 6 figures!!! I've never held this much money in my hands"

 

[Bluntitis]

“I don’t know what to say! I am speechless. What do you want to do? I can come to pick you up!”

 

[Becaa57]

"God I really have no idea, Margaret told me to just deposit it, and don't do anything with it for a couple weeks, get over the shock."

"Come and pick me up, take me home please!!!"

 

[Bluntitis]

“It will cost me fifteen minutes to pick you up. See you in front of the building.”

The only thing I can think of is champagne. On my way back to Margaret’s office I buy a bottle of Veuve Chlicquot. With the bottle under my arm I walk back to the office. You look more radiant and beautiful as ever.

“So happy it worked out well!! Hope you don’t have to worry anymore. Come let’s go home a nu d enjoy the moment!”

I hand you over the bottle when we take an elevator back to the car.

“I will call Margaret tomorrow to thank her on my behalf!”

"Thanks!!! champagne?? Well maybe a glass.
I wasn't expecting this quick of a solution of this much money.
"Margaret say's she wasn't either, thinking my ex has something going and wanted to this resolved once and for all.
Plus, she kept her fee from the settlement, so we are free and clear!!!"

 

[Bluntitis]

“I already suspected this. Having heard this, I'm even angrier at your ex. He has put you in misery for years while he did have money. How could he do that to his children? They have witnessed a ongoing, though relatively quiet, fight between their parents!! I feel sorry for them.”

I figure out that I have to ask Margaret if I get a refund from her or a refund from Sally for the fees I have paid when she took the case.

"That's the type of man he is, I guess a typical bully causing problems until someone stands up to him, Margaret was able to do that through his attorney. I guess I didn't expect anything really, in fact very surprised he caved so quickly. Margaret told me that she going to keep an eye on him, she suspects something illegal or almost illegal and if so, it would be to my advantage to know about it."

"She has friends or a relationship with a PI firm? She said that they can put him on low key survellance. Just so we won't be blindsided"
