Views to ratings ratio is terrible.

It’s a trade off. I have published 4 stories in Loving Wives with the first being 5/31. They’ve racked up a combined 130600 views with 8000 votes, so 6% and an average of 4.39. The downside to all those views and votes is the absolute shit show in the comment’s section. 579 total comments, 145 average per story and they are f’ing brutal.

I've posted 2 series in the last 18 months or so, both bombed in terms of ratings and comments. For my last 4 submissions, I've literally got 0 comments despite thousands of 'views'. My votes are sometimes over 4.5, but without enough votes to actually get a 'H' (10?). I don't want to blame the community, I'd rather improve, but I've had a grand total of 1 person say anything critical of my work, and that was from 2018.

If I had to write my own feedback, I'd say, my scenes are too long and detailed, and the readership here is after a quick fix with the pacing akin to one of those '< 1000 words' English assignments we got in school. Just look at how many new stories are published every day - I'm actually impressed that readers manage to trawl through them at all. And most the ones I click on are so bad, is the effort going in comparable to a daily Instagram post, along with the motivation for doing so in the first place? It feels like a lot more works are getting published than a few years ago. Is the writing community genuinely getting bigger? Are we feeling the rise of AI (people can slap a trashy story together in under an hour)? It takes me 6-12 months to write something. I'm thinking of moving on, but not even sure where to.
