Virginia Peeps

It was a pleasant surprise to find the Virginia thread near the top of the list this evening. Unfortunately, cannot say there has been much going on lately to post about. At least the weekend is almost here. I was over in Luray just before the 4th. Hot day but the caverns were nice and cool.
Gazer, Good to see you again 👍. Yeah those Caverns are pretty cool & amazing. We were up at our sons in Reston for the Holiday. Went to the National Air & Space Museum. A Most Impressive Collection of one of a kind aircraft & such. Laid out really well. Luv the “ Tiger Shark “ P-40 that greets you in the main gallery. Grandkids loved it too👍. Went out for some Irish 🍀 music 🎶 last night. Slainte 🍺

I like to take a little flashlight with me for those tours.....the dark corners are fun

During the smokey days, it was hazy but I never smelled smoke. It is amazing that so much smoke can be generated that it drifts all the way down here. Have had quite the violent storms the last week or so too. All of the rain is making my grass grow when normally it would be mostly dormant this time of year.

lol love to do some people watching, especially in the summer ;)
There were not a lot but there were a few short shorts, short skirts and tight tops which made for some discrete viewing. Have not been to the beach in quite a while but that always makes an enjoyable people watching day.

Heading to Virginia Beach for a few days starting Saturday, kicking off the trip with Rod Stewart concert. Good people watching there!

Wow. Blast from the past! Saw him in California when I was still in high school back in 1975.

Luray is a nice little town. I often stop for lunch at Ollie Cat Cafe when I’m on motorcycle rides in the area. Clean, good food, friendly service, reasonable prices.
That was my first trip to Luray in 30 years I am guessing. I wanted to go to Mount Vernon on July 3rd but the tours were all sold out so we ended up going to the caverns instead. In Colorado they had a cave tour where they gave each person an electric candle as the light source so you got to see what is was like for the original explorers. At one point, they have everyone turn off their candle to experience complete darkness. That was a fun, but more of a rugged tour.

Handbags & Gladrags, Gasoline Alley,An Old Raincoat Won’t Let Ya Down… just 3 of my favorites 👍👍👍
You and ReallyRandy can do some deep dives into Rod Stewart. I have no memory of any of these songs. I remember Do ya think I am sexy and Tonight's the Night. He was not a singer I really followed though. The last concert I went to was a tribute band for The Eagles. The first concert I ever went to was Grand Funk Railroad when I was 15. That was at the Cap Center which is long gone now.

The show was amazing—he still has it at 81! He had a lot of young hotties dancing and singing with him, allowed him to take breaks and rest. So well done. Good for him to know his limitations.
