I've always thought it was because we want idealized heroes and villians that's why the tight spandex for superheroes to show these perfect god-like bodies. It's the same instinct that made Grecian and Roman sculptor make statues of gods and heroes nude and much buffer than they would be in real life, fr33k.

Yes, idealized heroes and villains...I get that, but I just figured there was room for something other. *shrug* Maybe it's just me. And for the record I think those statues are all rather monotonous and boring.
