Volleyball Drills

Savannah was nervous about what her coach was going to say. She knew that she had been out of line and quite feisty with him. With anyone else, it may have been on the line or even acceptable, but he was her coach. Coaches went by the same "rules" that teachers did at her school and were expected to be treated with as much respect. She bit her full lower lip, tugging at a wet strand of hair that had fallen into her face. Why did he have to look so sexy when he was angry? His face was set in neither a smile or a frown and she couldn't stop staring at his mouth and his white scar.

"That sounds really good. I didn't really want to talk about practice," she replied nervously, listening to what he had to say next. "That might be true...but you're my coach and I'm supposed to listen to you, respect you, and not talk back. Ever." she tilted her head to the side, "No matter what either of us deems acceptable outside of school or teacher/student relationships, you're basically my teacher and I'm supposed to treat you like one."

She watched him bend over and pick up his whistle and found herself looking at his tight butt. "God Savannah, gross!"she said to herself, shaking her head. "Nope, nowhere to be." she smiled widely, sitting down next to him, straddling the bleacher. "Anything for you, coach." she went on, biting back a laugh.

As Savannah joined him on the bleachers, Logan leaned back until his back was pressing against the next row, his legs stretched out in front of him, crossed at the ankles. For some reason, desite everything, he actually felt comfortable talking to Savannah, though somewhere in the back of his mind, a little voice was asking what someone might think if they walked into the gym right then, as he sat without his shirt on, the gorgeous young teen sitting next to him, with no one else around.

"Okay, so we're agreed that we don't want to talk about practice," he said, his head swiveling toward the teenager. "So what should we talk about? The weather? Movies? Do you have anymore questions about me? Is there anything you've wanted to know about me, but been afraid to ask, not that I can imagine you being afraid of much."

Savannah stared at her coach, wondering if he had any idea what she was thinking about him, or if he had noticed her blatantly checking out his hot body. How could a guy like this settle down?! He must have had ALL the ladies after him in highschool and college. He was a god. Truly. She'd been around him a lot, of course. But rarely had they ever sat down together alone like this, and given Savannah a chance to really look at him. She cleared her throat, realizing she was again staring at him...and not at his face.

"Uh, I dunno. I think I know way more about you than you know about me." she smiled lightly, "Anything YOU are curious about?" she glanced around the gym, "Seems like we're alone here." she winked and scooted closer to him, "Just you and me, so nobody here to judge you."

"And there's a lot I'm afraid of." she added, quietly. "A lot more than you'd know."

It had taken Logan a few moments to notice that the teenage girl was looking at his chest and abs, but by the time she started to respond, he was sure she was. He was surprised. Not that he wasn't used to the occasionally flattering look from women, but he'd never really noticed any of the high school girls checking him out. Of course he didn't usually make a habit of taking his shirt off around high school girls. Probably my imagination, he told himself, dismissing it.

"Anything YOU are curious about?" Savannah asked, glancing around the gym as if to make sure there was no one else around, "Seems like we're alone here. Just you and me, so nobody here to judge you."

Logan did a double take when he realized that the teen had not only winked at him, but scooted closer to him. Was she seriously flirting with him? Savannah, the girl he was pretty sure couldn't stand him? He couldn't help but wonder if he was on some local version of Punked or Candid Camera. At any moment, Ashton Kutcher or Carson Daly was going to come from around the corner, laughing at him.

"Are you flirting with me?" Logan asked before he could stop himself.

It was in that moment that Savannah knew that Logan was fully aware of her having checked him out. Maybe not the first time, but definitely the second time. How could she not? How had she never noticed how gorgeous his body was? How did his wife ever let him leave the house?! On that note, Savannah's mind wandered briefly into her coach's bedroom...wondering if he and his wife had sex often.

"EW!" she thought to herself, "I'm such a pervert!"She looked up at him again. Savannah had been on the volleyball team for almost four years now. Coach Reardon had been teaching her for the past three years, since she was sixteen. Now eighteen, Savannah realized she had never even really taken the time to give him the time of day. So of course she hadn't taken the time to check him out and realize what a goddamn babe he was.

What was wrong with her?!?! She wondered, quite ashamed of herself. This was her coach. Not only was he off limits because he was a "teacher", he was married and had a KID! And she didn't like him! She reminded herself.

"I'm sorry, is my being friendly bothering you?" she noticed a bead of sweat on his upper lip, and licked her own, wishing she could kiss it off. On that note, she mentally smacked herself. In all of a few minutes, she'd gone from simply apologizing to the guy to having to grip the bleachers to stop herself from jumping his bones! She hoped he couldn't read minds, because she should be in detention for what she was thinking.

Logan couldn't quite read the expression that flashed across Savannah's face, but he was sure, for a moment at least, that she had been embarrassed. Of course, that could mean that he had been right and she was embarrassed that he had brought it up so blatantly, or it could just as easily mean that he was totally off base and she was embarrassed that he would even suggest it.

As he waited for her to respond, Logan found himself admiring just how beautiful she was. And noticing just how close she was. He couldn't help but glance down at her chest, if briefly. He was sure that her breasts were perfect, just like the rest of her, and found it hard to pull his eyes back up.

"I'm sorry, is my being friendly bothering you?" she asked, her voice almost a challenge.

"Did I say it was bothering me?" he replied, smiling wryly. "I guess I'd rather have you...being friendly, then fighting with me. If there are so many things that you're afraid of, name one."

As the coach stared at her, she realized her face was probably flushed. He'd embarrassed her and he knew it! Dammit! She shouldn't have sat down to chat with him. It was too late now. But as she sat there, she noticed HE was staring at her! More specifically, her chest. She had to bite back a smirk! So it wasn't only her noticing something she liked. She tugged at her shirt, almost self-consciously. Was it too revealing?

"You didn't. I think you liked imagining I was flirting with you." she said, almost cockily. "Who wouldn't?" she laughed, realizing how full of herself she sounded. "I mean...a highschool girl...not me. I..." she trailed off, happy that she had a question to answer.

"I'm afraid of..." she paused, thinking of all the things she was really afraid of, but instead answering with a shallow answer, "spiders. Bees. Wasps. What are YOU afraid of?"

"I'm afraid of looking back at my life in twenty years and having regrets that I won't be able to get over," he answered, his voice thicker and rougher than he intended as he turned his eyes down to the gym floor. "I'm afraid of letting people down, including myself. I'm afraid of making a mistake that I won't be able to live with."

"I'm also afraid we're going to get crushed in our first match," he joked, his voice lighter. "and I'm afraid of smart mouthed teenage girls who are too pretty for their own good...oh, yeah, and spiders too."

Savannah nodded, and looked at Logan empathetically as he explained the true fears he had. The kinds of things she'd been too afraid to tell him about. He was brave. She couldn't blame him for that. The things he was afraid of made sense. Everyone was scared of things like that, even her.

Her eyes widened in shock, "Too pretty? Um? For my own good? Smart mouthed?" He thought she was pretty? And he was admitting it? What had just happened here, "Uh..." she stared downwards, her eyes finding his hard stomach once again, and following the evil V lines to the top of his shorts, wondering if he was as hard underneath.

"OH my god." she said out loud, flushing bright red. "I'm so sorry." she said, even though he had no idea what she had been thinking.

Logan watched as Savannah seemed to struggle with what he'd said. Had he said too much? Surely she knew how beautiful she was, and he seriously doubted that he was the first one to tell her that she had a smart mouth. In fact, it wasn't the first time he'd told her that.

He saw her look down and wondered if he really had gone too far, until he realized that her eyes were once again glued to his body, although lower than before, maybe on his abs now...then she was apologizing for some reason, apologizing and blushing crimson.

"What are you sorry for?" the coach asked, reaching out and putting his hand on her knee. "Did you do something wrong?"

Savannah looked down at her coach's hand on her knee. "Not exactly. But I think I should go home now. It's...getting dark. I have to be up early tomorrow for school." His hand was warm. Too warm. And it was still there, on her knee. She waited. Still there. What was wrong with him?

She stood up, letting his hand slide down and off her leg. "Really, it was good talking with you. We made some progress." she gave two sarcastic thumbs up, and turned and left before he could say anything else.

After Savannah left, Logan sat quietly, trying to make sense of the brief encounter with the teen. The more he thought about it, the more it began to eat at him. One minute Savannah had been flirtatious and friendly, even ogling his bare chest and abs, the next minute she was pulling away from him and responding to him with sarcasm. The look on her face as she had held two thumbs up in front of her, the way she said "we made some progress"...it made him feel...foolish. Some how, Savannah seemed to have a knack for making him feel foolish.

By the time he reached his house, Logan had managed to convince himself that the beautiful teen had simply been teasing him the whole time, probably laughing at him the whole time. Needless to say, he wasn't in a good mood. His wife avoided him most of the night, sensing that he didn't want to talk, but when he finally made his way to bed, she was waiting for him. They didn't make love, they fucked, and it was rougher than normal, Logan more aggressive, more intense. And this time, when images of Savannah drifted into his mind, he didn't try to dispel them. If anything he welcomed them.

Savannah couldn't believe herself and her behavior. How could she have treated him with such disrespect and rudeness? On top of that, why had she been so flirtatious and gross? He was so much older than her, married, and had a child! He was her coach! She rolled her eyes as she pulled up to her house, getting out of the car and walking into her house. But he was hot... she'd pushed it out of her mind for so long, trying not to look at him. They'd spent so much time alone together, but today had been the first time they'd ever touched on that "line."

Savannah shook her head, deciding to take a warm shower and try to get it off her mind. But as soon as she was naked under the warm flow of water, all she could think about was Logan's hard body in there with there. She touched herself that night, thinking about him, though she felt horrible and guilty about it.

The next morning, she dreaded seeing him. She had considered skipping school and practice, but knew she couldn't.

Despite everything he had told himself after practice the night before, about not blaming Savannah for his own frustrations and personal regrets, when the teenager walked into his class the next day, Logan found it difficult to hide the irritation he felt toward her. He avoided eye contact with her, though when she wasn't looking, he found himself watching her. It was hard to look at her without remembering vividly the fantasies that had gripped him the night before. She seemed to catch him leering at least once, his eyes tracing the curves of her breasts, but considering the sneer on the coach's face, it was doubtful that she would have any clue as to what he had actually been thinking about.

"Don't forget to pick up your homework packet and reading list from my desk if you don't already have them," Logan practically growled to the class as he glanced at his watch. "Class dismissed." It was five minutes early, but he didn't care.

"Jeez, Mr. Reardon was in such a bad mood." Mark Johnson said to one of the girls in their class as the kids filed out, some stopping to grab packets and lists from his desk. "Seriously," a girl named Sarah replied, "He's never seemed that pissy before."

Savannah didn't have her reading list or packet, unfortunately. Although she had caught Logan glaring at her and possibly even checking her out throughout the day, she had to stop at his desk and pick them up. She tried to stare down at the ground and grab them as she went by, but he grabbed her arm. "Hold on a second, please." he hissed at her, noticing that most of the students had already left the room.

"What? I have shit to do. I need to get my books for my next class. You're not my only teacher, Coach."

"Hey, watch your language, little girl," Logan snapped, still holding onto Savannah's arm. "You might not like me, but if you want to be part of my team, you will at least show me a little respect."

His voice was hard and cold, and so was the look on the coach's face. At that moment, there was nothing he wanted more than to turn her over the desk and spank her for acting like a brat. Well, maybe there were a few things he might want to do to her more than that, he admitted as he realized that he was still holding her arm. He finally released her, taking a deep breath.

"The team bus leaves at 5:00, don't be late," Logan said, his voice still like iron as he turned away from Savannah.

"I'm your best player, you wouldn't dare threaten me like that. You know you'd lose every game this year if you kicked me off the team." Despite her strong words, her eyes welled up with tears. He had been so harsh and plain mean! She hadn't done anything to deserve that! What the hell?

But she clutched her packet and list to her chest, rushing out of the room, calling back at him, "I'll be at the bus at 5:00." she rushed off to her locker, on her way to the next class. Logan walked through the hall, and she avoided looking at him.

"Oh hey, gorgeous!" she looked up, seeing the handsome face of the quarterback. He was a senior and was eighteen like she was. "Have you been thinking about the formal at all... because I don't have a date, and I couldn't think of anyone I'd like to go with besides you." Jeremy was a very sexy, smart guy. He'd asked her out before, but they'd never gone anywhere with it. She'd seen him in the locker rooms a few times (not indecently) and he had a great body.
"Um, I hadn't, actually. I've been super busy with volleyball and my classes."
"I can tell." he winked. "You look really great. Well, how about this...you have my number. I'm going to come to your match. Maybe you'll decide to come with me, huh?" he grinned and walked off.

"Wow!!!!!!! Did he just ask you out?!?!!?" Kelly said, running over towards Savannah,
"Yep. To the formal. Whatever. I gotta book it to class, I can't get in any trouble today."

Savannah was right, again. There was no way he was going to kick her off of the team. He was too competitive to do that, plus it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the team. Nonetheless, the expression on her face, and the tears that tettered at the bottom of her eyelids, threatening to spill down her cheeks gave him a childish sense of satisfaction. He knew it was ridiculous, and he knew that he had been too hard on her, but he still made no attempt to stop the distraught teen as she rushed out of the room.

Cursing himself for his behavior, Logan stalked out of the class room a few minutes later, making his way through the crowded hall towards the teachers' lounge. As he passed by Savannah's locker, he saw her talking with Jeremy Quinton. He turned his attention away, but couldn't help but wonder if they were friends...or more. Logan felt his chest and stomach tighten, but dismissed it as a result of his encounter with the teenage girl.

Stepping into the teachers' lounge, the coach took a deep breath, grateful to be away from the students. He pulled a bottle of water from the fridge and took a seat in one of the comfortable lounge chairs. Martin Caudill, the football coach and History teacher was sitting across the table from him, reading the newspaper.

After taking a few sips of water, Logan looked up at the other coach, "Hey, Martin. How are you?"

"As good as can be expected, I guess," the balding man replied without looking up from his paper.

"Hey, do you know if Jeremy is dating Savannah Waters?"

Coach Caudill looked up, "I don't know. He's the starting quaterback. He pretty much 'dates' whoever he wants. I've lost count of the girls he's been with. He probably has to. Why do you ask?"

"Oh, just wondering if I needed to be worried about my best player losing focus," he responded, turning his attention away from the other coach, who had already gone back to his newspaper.

Savannah went through her classes in a haze. Once she had gotten past the discomfort with the conversation between she and Coach Reardon, she was able to think about the fact that Jeremy had asked her out. Part of her was excited. But he had quitethe reputation, and she didn't know how she felt about being the potential notch on a popular jock's bedpost. She had often wondered if he played out that reputation just to be viewed as a cool football player, or whether he really did sleep around a lot.

"Hey, Carter." Carter appeared next to her, as they walked to their next class together. Her brother's friend Carter was on the football team with Jeremy. Although guys typically protect each other, she and Carter hung out a lot and she pondered on the thought of him actually answering her honestly, "I know you have a man code and everything...but be a big brother for a second. Is Jeremy someone you think I should go out with? I hear he sleeps around... a LOT." They were almost at their class, and she was concerned he'd just blow her off,
"I dunno, honestly. He and I are pretty good friends, but I don't know who he actually sleeps with. He says a lot in the locker room, but I haven't personally seen him with a lot of chicks." he shrugged, "I gotta get to class, girl."

She sat down at her desk, crossing her legs. Her phone buzzed with a text. She glanced down. It was from Jeremy.
"Hey!"
"Hi...I'm in class. :p" she replied,
"I know! I wanted to say hi. I saw you talking to Carter. Were you talking about me? ;)"
"Maybe!" she laughed, and started paying attention to the teacher. Or trying to. She couldn't stop thinking about Coach Reardon and the team and her game...

Savannah Waters was nervous.

Logan's mood only seemed to grow darker as the day went along, partially because each hour that passed brought them closer to time for the team's first match to start, something he was practically dreading at this point. That wasn't the only reason for his foul mood though, he had also had an argument with Julie over the phone during his lunch period about the trip she was planning with her best friend. With money tight, Logan didn't really think she should spend the money associated with a week in Mexico, and he also wasn't looking forward to trying to work and take care of their son by himself for five or six days.

When the final bell of the day rang, the coach let out a short sigh, before quickly reminding himself that he still had the volleyball match to deal with. Finishing up his paperwork, he made his way to the gym. After calling to verify that the team bus would be ready and on time, he grabbed his bag and stepped into the boys locker room to change out of his dress clothes.

Now dressed in the green and white school colors, Logan returned to the gym floor where he met up with Coach Kline. Together they collected towels, water bottles, rosters and stat sheets, along with a handful of other items they might need and began loading them on the bus. By the time they finished packing everything into the bus, the first of the girls began to arrive. Logan checked his watch and saw that they only had twenty minutes before they needed to leave. Pulling out his roster, he began to check off the names of the girls that had already boarded.

Over the school day, Savannah found herself constantly feeling nervous and discomforted. Despite all the things right in her life, and all the reasons she should feel satisfied, she felt like something was missing. And no, it wasn't a boyfriend. She was happy being single, she didn't need a guy to complete her. Yet she felt an odd ache when she saw a couple walk down the hall holding hands or kissing between classes. Her brief encounter with Coach Reardon and thinking about him and his wife had made her feel awfully awkward as well.

During her last class, she was deep in thought about the match and Logan and Jeremy as well. When the teacher called on her, she answered half-heartedly, "Uhm, what was the question?" Mr. Pearson just shook his head, "You're lucky you get good grades, Ms. Waters. Your constant disrespect to the teachers and your flippant attitude towards school in general is very aggravating to myself and the other teachers. Even your coach is fed up. I'd give you detention today, save for the fact that you have a match. See me tomorrow after school." he turned to the rest of the class, "Class dismissed."

Cheeks aflame, Savannah ran out of the class and hopped the side gate, walking quickly towards her car. Who the fuck cared if she was rude or didn't pay attention all the time?!?! She got good grades and could apply what she learned. He was a fucking asshole to her, anyways and didn't cut her any slack! She breathed deeply, putting her head against her window as she sat in the driver's seat. She revved the engine and sped off, not even checking behind her as she backed out.

5:11 came along and Savannah finally flew by the bus, her hair flying everywhere, t-shirt tight across her chest and her ass and legs tight in her shorts, bending over slightly to catch her breath. "Hey guys." she said, to the girls, starting to board the bus. She tried to avoid Logan's glance, knowing he probably wanted to punish the hell out of her for being late again.

Every name on Coach Reardon's list was checked off by 5:00, every name except one. Savannah Waters. For some reason, he wasn't surprised. In fact, it wouldn't have surprised him at all to find out that she was late just to piss him off. Not that he would really blame her, he had been a complete jackass to her earlier. Not that he intended to apologize, she already seemed to think he was pathetic, the last thing he was going to do was make it worse.

Checking his watch again, he tried to calculate just how long they could wait before they would have to leave without Savannah. Twenty minutes top, he told himself, as he glanced over his shoulder at the bus full of teenage girls. Well, if she doesn't show up, that will put a cap on another stellar day.

Five minutes went by, then ten, and still no sign of Savannah. Coach Kline was trying to locate Savannah's phone number so she could try to call her, while Logan looked over his roster and tried to decide who he would play in her position if she didn't show.

"There she is," Debbie said, putting her cell phone away as she motioned toward a car that had just arrived. "Fashionably late again, Ms. Winters," Coach Kline said to the brunette as she approached.

Logan didn't say anthing at all, turning and climbing onto the school bus. He took a seat at the front of the bus and did his best not to look pissed, despite how he was actually feeling.

After about ten minutes of being in the bus and getting glares from both Coach Reardon and Coach Kline, Savannah felt bad. None of her teammates cared, because they were mostly friend and she treated them with respect and kindness. As long as they weren't late to a match or practice, they never minded when she was late. Girls understood each other better, anyways.

She sighed, and started to get up. But she was stopped by the blonde that straddled her lap. "HEY, SAVANNAH, IS THIS HOW YOU AND JEREMY ARE GONNA DO IT?" The blonde was Sara, a good friend of hers, but now was not the time. Of course, Sara didn't take notice of the annoyed look on Savannah's face, and started to grind into Savannah's crotch. "Yea baby!" she fake-moaned, pretending to be Jeremy. "You feel so good with my penis in you!" It was the normal loud, obnoxious ruckus that the girls shared on the bus, but it was frustrating and honestly a tease to Savannah.

At that moment, Savannah had no idea what drove her to do so, but she grabbed Sara's hips hard, kissing her deeply. Her left hand slid upwards to grab her tit through her thin t-shirt, before letting go. "Yeah, that's how he's gonna fuck me. 'Sept I'm gonna be on top." Sara's eyes were wide, but she didn't protest and nobody dared to say anything. Everyone was staring at the two girls, and Savannah looked down to notice a small wet spot on Sara's shorts. "Except I don't think Jeremy would be a premature ejaculator like that." she said gently, grabbing her crotch for a moment.

"I think you should go sit down now, Sara. And shut your mouth for Christ's sake." She waited for Sara to get off of her lap, and made her way up to Coach Reardon's row, sitting down in the empty seat next to him. "Hey Coach." she said softly, pretending nothing had just happened between herself and Sara.

At the sound of raised voices, Logan lifted his attention from his notes and glanced back at the rows of teenage girls. He could see Sara Weems sitting on Savannah's lap, bouncing up and down and making a show of it as the girls around them hooted and hollared. He could also see that Savannah wasn't happy with Sara at that moment. He was just about to stand up and ask Sara to return to her own seat, when Coach Kline beat him to it.

As the woman stood and tried to shout over the din of the bus, she stepped in front of Logan, blocking his view of what was happening. He turned his attention back to his notes, doing his best to concentrate on anything other than the chaos surrounding him. A moment later, he looked up to see Savannah taking the empty seat beside him.

"Hey Coach," she said, her voice soft, and her eyes forward.

"Everything okay back there?" he asked, sensing that something was wrong, something that didn't have anything to do with him. "Anything you want to talk about?"

Savannah shrugged, not wanting to tell him what had gotten into her. She couldn't explain it to herself, how could she talk to him about it, "Just Sara being rowdy about what it would be like between me and Jeremy. You know...cause he asked me to formal. And he likes me...etc." She said, checking for his reaction, and then quickly changing the subject,

"So are you excited? Nervous? Think we're gonna do well?" she smiled forward, not wanting to turn to look at him. She still couldn't believe how she'd kissed and groped Sara. She never would have done that. Savannah realized at that moment that it wasn't Sara she was lashing out against when she grabbed and kissed her violently, it was Coach Reardon.
