Volleyball Drills

Logan felt a slight stab of anxiety or perhaps even jealousy when he heard Savannah mention Jeremy. He tried to convince himself that he was just concerned about having his star player distracted by a boy, but some part of him knew there was more to it than that. He just hoped, whatever the source, that the discomfort he felt in that moment hadn't been reflected on his face. The last thing he needed was for Savannah Waters to think he was attracted to her in any way. He was a teacher and a coach and she was a student and an athlete and that was where it needed to end. Regardless of how hot she is, he added as an afterthought.

"So are you excited? Nervous? Think we're gonna do well?" Savannah asked, smiling, but not looking in his direction.

Well, at least we seem to have moved past the little dust up from this morning, Logan thought. "I think tonight's game will give us a really good idea just where we're at, and what things we need to work on," he answered. "Which I think is the diplomatic way of saying I'm scared that we're going to get our cute little asses handed to us."

Even as the words left his lips, the coach wished he had phrased it differently, not because he thought Savannah would care, but because his mind immediately filled with images of teenage girls in extremely tight shorts, their asses on display as they ran and jumped and bent over in front of him. And whether he knew it or not, every one of those girls playing through his imagination was actually Savannah Waters, with her face, her body, and her ass.

Savannah could see the weird look all over Coach Reardon's face as she had told him about Jeremy. Was it jealousy? Doubtful. He had a hot wife. He was probably concerned that she was dating a player and it would distract her from being a good volleyball player on his team. She noted that she should keep their potential relationship secret from him, if it came to that.

She sat back and listened as he talked about the game, laughing at her big, buff coach saying, "cute little asses". She raised her eyebrows, "Whose cute little ass are you thinking about, exactly?" she whispered, before getting up and going back to her seat. All the girls were sitting silently, as Coach Kline had sat in the back after the ruckus between Sara and Savannah, to keep them quiet.

"Hey Sara-I-" she was cut off by Coach Kline telling her to quiet down. She raised her eyebrow in surprise. She hadn't even been loud! She tried again, leaning over her seat to talk to her, "Sara-" she was cut off yet again by Coach Kline asking her to sit back down correctly.

She scoffed, "What?!" Once again, she tried sitting down next to Sara so that she could finish her damn sentance, when Coach Kline stood in front of her, "Ms. Waters, what did I tell you? Go back to your own seat. You were already late and caused enough ruckus today!" She waited for Savannah to go back to her own seat before returning to her own, in the middle.

"You're such a bitch." she said suddenly, to Coach Kline. And definitely not under her breath, "Just because you've been hired by Coach Reardon doesn't mean you have to treat us like little kids. We're allowed to be loud and screw around on the bus, as long as we keep our shit together on the court. So fuck off." she seethed.

Her face red with barely contained anger, Coach Kline rose from her seat and stalked down the aisle to where Savannah was sitting. Leaning down until she was face to face with the young, attractive teen, the coach lowered her voice enough so that only the handful of girls in the immediate vicinity of her would be able to hear her, "Just because Coach Reardon lets you get away with whatever you want when you shake your ass at him, doesn't mean that you can speak to me like that." She was so angry, she was actually spitting.

"Tomorrow morning I'm going to speak to the principal about this," she said, taking a deep breath and straightening back up. "And after I've talked to Mr. Reardon, will see if you are even part of this team after tonight," she said, shaking a finger in the girls face.

"You're just jealous because you're a fat, old bitch and I actually have an attractive bod that Coach Reardon would notice." She was so livid that Coach Kline was suddenly trying to act like shw was in charge. All the girls were giggling.

"Yeah, Kline. You're not the boss of us!" Sara yelled out.

Savannah slapped Coach Kline in the face. "Get. Out. Of. My. Face!" She yelled. "Obviously I'm not going to be cut. I'm captain and have been for years, you stupid bitch. You're not even technically a teacher, so stop acting like you have precedence." Nobody had ever seen Savannah this mad. "Leave me alone. And what the fuck are you going to say to him? That you were being a bitch and I actually stood up for myself? Go sit back down."

"You little..." Coach Kline was so shocked, so furious, that she couldn't even finish her thought. Instead, she reached out and grabbed the front of Savannah's shirt with both hands and started to lift the girl out of her seat.

It was at this moment, having heard the yelling, that Coach Reardon stood up and started toward down the aisle. By the time he stepped up behind the assistant coach, she had released her grip on the teenager's shirt and was muttering promises of expulsion and a littany of other potential punishments.

"What in the hell is going on back here?" Logan asked, his eyes flickering first to Savannah then to Coach Kline. "Wait, don't bother. Debbie can you please have a seat at the back of the bus for now? We should be there in about ten minutes. I'll get with you as soon as we get off the bus."

"You, please join me in the front seat," he said, turning his attention back to Savannah. "As for the rest of you, mouths shut for the next ten minutes and butts in seats."

Savannah's heart jumped out of her chest, scared, when she heard Coach Reardon yelling. He made Coach Kline go and sit down at the back of the bus and then he turned towards her, seemingly very angry. "You, please join me in the front seat." he said to Savannah, making everyone else sit down and keep quiet.

"I'm sorry, Coach. I...she's just such a bitch. And she was trying to control me! And us! And I didn't do anything!" she started to defend herself, scared of what Coach Reardon was going to say to her if she stopped talking. She bit her lower lip, looking down, "Please don't yell at me, too."

Logan could see that Savannah was nervous even before she said anything. He wasn't sure what had gone on between the brunette and the assistant coach, but obviously it had gotten out of control. Taking a deep breath to compose himself, he lowered his voice and did his best to sound calm, "I'm not going to yell at you, Savannah but I do need to know what just happened, so please, come up front and have a seat."

He turned to the side in the narrow aisle and motioned for the teenager to lead the way to the front of the bus, doing his best to not looked pissed. The last thing he wanted was to make whatever had happened even worse.

Savannah sat down at the window in the seat Coach Reardon had previously occupied, waiting for him to sit down next to her. "I already told you what happened, though." she whispered, "I don't understand. You know how Coach Kline is." she looked out the window, "I know you're mad at me. But I need to chill out, we're about to play a match."

Savannah looked back at Coach Kline, who glared at her, "I swear to God..." she seethed, "I don;t know why you hired that bi@#!."

Logan followed the upset teen to the front of the bus and sat down next to her, turning his body slightly toward her so that he could speak to her. He listened patiently as Savannah vented about Coach Kline. He knew that he needed more details as to what had caused the confrontation between the two, but he also knew that forcing the issue at the point was probably going to get him nowhere. And besides, she was right, they had a match to play.

"You're right," he said, patting the teenager lightly on the knee. "Let's focus on business for now so we can start the season with a win."

"I would tell you to channel that frustration and energy into the match but I don't want you to kill one of the opposing players with a spike," he joked, hoping to break the tension as he glanced out the window and saw their destination in the distance.

"I do need you to promise me one thing though," Logan said, his voice a little more serious. "Promise me that you will steer clear of Coach Kline for the rest of the night, okay?"

Savannah looked down at her coach's hand on her knee. For a split second, she wondered what would happen if he slid it upwards. Would she freak out? Would she like it? She giggled. He would never do that. He didn't think of her as anything more than just another student and great volleyball player. "I'm all business." she smiled.

"ME?" she feigned shock, a hand over her mouth, "I would never. I'll just knock 'em dead, as you would say." she paused, "We're gonna win, you know. I'm wearing my lucky panties." she laughed, knowing that was "too much information." Savannah looked directly at him, "I'm not trying to be sexy...it's true. These panties are winners."

"No problem. I'm happy to be nowhere near her." Savannah said with a casual shrug, "Just so long as she keeps her hands off of me!" she punched the air jokingly, pretending to fight Coach Kline.

"Okay, okay, slugger," Logan said, doing his best not to laugh as he motioned for Savannah to lower her hands. "We're here. As soon as the driver opens the door, you lead the girls into the gym and I'll run interference with Coach Kline so you don't have to lay the smack down on her."

Even as the coach joked with the beautiful teenager his mind was still pre-occupied with one thought...panties, or more specifically, Savannah Waters' panties. He had managed to bite back several comments that had sprung to mind when she'd mentioned her lucky panties, but the image of her standing in front of him in just her panties wasn't so easily shaken. He couldn't help but wonder what they looked like, and what she looked like in them.

He actually breathed an audible sigh of relief when the bus driver pulled into the parking lot and stopped the bus in front of the gymnasium. As the door opened and Savannah stood, he found his eyes drawn to her ass, but quickly turned his attention, if somewhat reluctantly, to the back of the bus so he could keep an eye out for Debbie.

Savannah jumped up, "Yes, Coach!" she saluted him, jokingly. As the bus came to a stop in front of the gymnasium, she lead the girls in a straight line up to the front door and inside. They filed around the corner, waiting for their Coach and his assistant. They knew they were fighting and did not want to wait outside the building to witness it. The girls all gossiped quietly amongst themselves, but Savannah pressed herself against the glass door, watching the bus doors, waiting for Coach Reardon to exit.

"Savannah, I'm sorry about earlier...I shouldn't have gotten so personal." Sara said, touching her shoulder. Savannah smirked,
"Didn't seem like you were sorry." Sara blushed bright red,
"Sorry about making you mad. Not sorry about your reaction." she bit her lower lip, "That's all. Please don't hit me during the game."
"Sara! I may be a bitch sometimes off the court, but you should always feel safe during a game. I would never do that kind of thing intentionally. You know I like to win, anyways."

She turned her gaze back to the window, wondering what the two were saying to each other on the bus.

Perhaps sensing that Logan wanted to talk to her, Coach Kline waited at the back of the bus until all of the girls had disembarked. Her face was still red and her hands were clenched into fists as she finally stood and started down the aisle toward the front of the bus. "Let me guess, you held her hand and told her everything was okay. Is that right, Coach?" her voice seethed, and the last word dripped with sarcasm.

"Debbie, please just calm down," Logan said, holding his hands up, palms toward the older woman. "There is no reason to make this about you and I."

"It's not about you and I, Logan. It's about you, and as long as you continue to let these girls get away with whatever they want, then it will always be about you," she sputtered as her hands moved to her hips.

"I'm not sure that is a fair statement, Debbie," Logan said, doing his best to stay calm. "It's not like I'm not holding them accountable, but they are still girls. High school girls, not professionals. Not adults."

"Are seriously trying to tell me that you have been holding Savannah accountable for her actions? If you were she would have been benched the second time she was late for practice, but no, Savannah can bat her eyes at you and wiggle her hips and you seem to forget that you're the coach," Debbie accused him. "And that you're a married man."

The last comment seemed to bring an unnatural silence to the bus, as Logan's eyes grew cold. He took a breath, struggling to refrain from raising his voice, "I think that's enough. We can talk tomorrow if you'd like, but for tonight, I think I'm going to handle this match by myself."

Not waiting for a response, the coach turned and made his way off the bus. It was a short distance from the bus to the gym door, but it gave him enough time to wipe the scowl from his face before he stepped in to address the team. The girls grew quiet as they saw him, and he was sure it was because they had been talking about him, and about what might be happening on the bus.

"Alright girls, hit the locker room," he instructed. "Coach Kline won't be able to join us, so you've got fifteen minutes then I'm coming in the locker room to get you."

Savannah turned away from the glass in time, so that Coach Reardon would not see her having been watching him, pressed up against the glass. She was acting inappropriately. Why did she care so much? What had gotten into her lately? She shrugged and tried to act naturally, "I'll meet you in there in a second, ladies." Savannah teased, as the rest of the girls filtered into the locker room on the side of the building, holding their bags over their shoulders.

"Is everything okay? I know I was out of line, but the truth is she expects us to act like professional adults. If I'm on a volleyball team in college or if I was on a professional team, I'd act differently. But the truth is that I'm eighteen years old and most of the girls on the team aren't even eighteen yet. She can't treat us with no respect and expect immense respect in return. You should have hired a man. Men are simpler." Savannah said, crossing her arms over her chest.

Hearing Savannah tell the other girls to go on in without her, Logan suddenly felt a little nervous about being alone with the teenager, as if they were doing something wrong. It was probably just the things that Coach Kline had said, as well as the things she had implied. Not that there was any truth to them, he thought. Though, even as he tried to convince himself, Logan remembered the brief moment on the bus when Savannah had mentioned her panties, and he had spent the next five minutes fantasizing about her. And it wasn't the first time, he reminded himself.

"Oh, so we're simple are we?" he responded, smiling down at Savannah. "You care to reconsider that statement before I have a chance to assign you extra laps at out next practice?" His face looked stern as he said it, but it was clear from his tone that he was joking.

"Come on, you'd better get in there and get ready," the coach encouraged her with a hand on her shoulder. "You don't want to still be getting dressed when I come in. I might accidentally see your lucky panties." Shit, did I seriously just say that, he wondered, kicking himself mentally.

"Laps would be great. My ass is getting a little out of shape lately. I could use some extra exercise." she teased. Then she wondered if he would take her seriously, and took it back, "Except I don't really think I deserve to be punished or anything."

They talked for a couple moments longer, and then Savannah realized she should really be getting back to the girls and change. Before she could say anything, Coach Reardon was talking again,

"My...what?" she said, shocked. Her eyes were wide and her jaw slightly open. "You..." she closed her mouth, realizing it was wide open. She swallowed hard, scratching the side of her neck. She didn't know how to respond to that! "That was really inappropriate. I'm going to go change." she walked off quickly, not wanting to hear his repsonse or defense.

She entered the changing room, and half the girls were naked or getting re-dressed. She stepped out of her clothes, putting her hair up in a ponytail. Then she grabbed her bag, unzipping it, to find her volleyball uniform. "Sara, come here." she called out. Sara bounced over, only wearing her shoes and volleyball shorts. Savannah's mouth dropped open once again, "Holy shit."
"What?!?! Do I have something on me?" she said, brushing her hands down over her breasts,
"No. Just...wow." she smirked.

The girls finished up getting dressed as quickly as possible, waiting for their Coach to come give them the regular pep talk before their matches.

Coach Reardon wasn't sure if Savannah was joking or not when she said that his comment was inappropriate. Then again, that was part of the problem with her, he was never sure what to think of the things she said. She could have been completely serious, or she could have just been having fun. Shaking his head, he decided it wasn't worth worrying about, especially not just minutes before their match. Now was time to focus.

Logan waited several extra minutes before opening the locker room door and announcing that he was coming in, just to be absolutely sure that everyone would be dressed. And even then, he hesitated a moment before stepping into the room. "Alright girls, gather up," he said, taking a position in front of several rows of benches. Slowly the chatter died down and the team assembled in front of him.

"We've been practicing really hard for the last week, and now is our chance to see whether that practice is going to pay off. If we go out there and play the way we are capable of playing, we should win this match. If we don't then we are going to struggle," he explained. "Remember the three things we've been stressing in practice, listen to your teammates, watch for the blocking assignments, and keep your head in the game."

"Any questions?" he asked.

The girls all shut up and lined up on the benches as their Coach entered the room and leaned against one of the walls, obviously waiting for them to be quiet and give him their attention. Everyone but Savannah Waters, of course, who was standing behind the benches texting. She glanced up, barely giving Coach Reardon any of her free attention, "Yeah." she replied, as he finally finished the pep talk and asked if they had any questions.

She glanced quickly at the clock, noticing they had literally 2 minutes before the match started. That meant anything she said now, he wouldn't be able to discuss til after the match. A wicked smile came over her face, "Is it normal for a Coach to ask his team captain to see her lucky panties? Because...I'm sort of guessing that's not normal protocol?" She raised her eyebrows as every single girl looked back at her and then back at Coach Reardon, snickering.

"Alright girls! Let's hit it!" she said, ignoring any looks Logan was giving her, and leading the girls quickly out into the gymnasium.

Logan froze when he heard Savannah's question. Initially every head turned to look at the brunette, but in unison they turned back to look at him, as if waiting for a response. The coach could feel his face growing red, and his temper was sending off warning bells, as if steam might come out of his ears at any moment. As he started to say something, anything, Savannah led the rest of the team out onto the court, leaving him standing there, fuming.

What the fuck is she thinking, he wondered to himself. Does she not realize that she could get me fired, saying shit like that? She's the one who brought up her panties in the first place...FUCK! Shaking his head, Logan ripped the locker room door open and stormed down the hallway, determined to not let Savannah distract him from the match. And also determined to have a word with her after the match. She needed to be told that she couldn't keep acting like that.

Staring daggers at Savannah as the girls took the floor, Logan took his jacket off and took his position on the bench. Within a five minutes the match had begun, and the coach went in to coach mode, analysing his teams performance, looking for the opposing teams weaknesses, and doing his best to think of Savannah as just another member of the team. An infuriating member, but that was all.

As the girls huddled for a minute on their side of the court, she couldn't help but feel a little badly for what she had said to Logan. He hadn't deserved that, even if what he had said to her had shocked her and been quite inappropriate. She had brought it up first, even if not in a sexual manner. She was just so wrapped up with everything going on, and frustrated that she found him attractive, that lashing out had seemed an appropriate thing to do.

But the match was starting and she was taking her position. Her mind was totally focused on the game. Four minutes in, one of the girls broke her nail. Savannah found herself yelling at the girl to suck it up. Five points later and the other team had already gotten two sideouts called on them. Savannah was happy her team was winning, yet she couldn't help but feel frustrated that the match could have been won by a team of toddlers.

Twenty minutes later and they were at 20 points over 6 points. Savannah knew there was no way the other team could win, but her team still had to get 5 more points for it to be over. She looked over at Sara and nodded. She knew what that meant.

The girl serving for the other team was concentrating as she hit the ball up and-- "Your mother's a whore!" Savannah said loudly, the girl again serving improperly and yet another Sideout was called. Sara served the ball over to the other team, most of whom were still distracted by what had just occurred, and didn't catch the ball.

"GO WATERS!!!" she heard a voice from the bleachers. She glanced over. Jeremy. She giggled and waved, and then bent forward, ready to hit the ball when it came by her. She stole a look at Coach Reardon, who still looked mad, despite the fact that they were about to win.

Exactly three minutes and seventeen seconds later, and their school had won the match. All the girls shook hands and headed back to their respective locker rooms. Savannah stayed behind to wait for Jeremy to make his way down the bleachers to meet her. "You didn't have to come. It wasn't an important match." she was consciously aware of how sweaty she was and that Coach Reardon was still in the gym.
"I know. But I couldn't pass up an opportunity to see this." he tugged her ponytail gently and gestured to her little shorts.

To his amazement everything went exactly as he had drawn it up, though to be fair, it was due as much to the inexperience of their opposition as it was to his own teams execution. Overall, there were definitely going to be some take aways from the match, but at least they were starting the season with a win. Maybe that was the spark they needed to pull things together at practice and start to build.

There was one small hitch to the game plan, and of course it was all because of little miss mouth, Savannah Waters. Near the end of the match, with the outcome clearly already decided, Savannah had decided to distract the other team's server by shouting an inappropriate comment out. The tactic had worked, and more amazingly, the officials either didn't hear what she said, or just didn't care. Normally something like that could get a player thrown out, and potentially cost the team the point.

Coach Reardon apologized to the other team's coach for the incident and promised to have a talk with Savannah as soon as possible about her lack of sportsmanship. After short exchange the two coaches shook hands, and Logan turned back toward his team's bench. Most of the girls, having finished shaking the other team's hands, were starting to file into the locker room, but he noticed that Savannah was still on the court. That was when he realized that she was talking to Jeremy, who had apparently decided to come watch the match.

He noticed the way the football player was looking at the teenage girl, and he knew exactly what he was after. Not that he blamed him, if he was ten years younger he'd be after it too. Feeling an odd mixture of nostalgia and anxiety, Logan turned his back on the two teenagers and followed the rest of the team into the locker room.

"We are the champions, no time for losers," Sara shouted just as Logan entered the room, raising her arms over her head in celebration. She had already pulled her jersey off and was walking around the locker room in just her sports bra and her shorts. After one short glance at her barely covered chest, Logan decided it would be better to step outside.

"The bus leaves in twenty minutes. Everyone meet me in the hallway as soon as you're ready," And with that, he stepped out of the locker room, his head turning away from the girls just before Sara started to pull her sports bra off. The congratulatory speech would just have to wait until they were all on the bus, he told himself.

Savannah smiled at Jeremy, "I gotta get changed and congratulate my girls. Call me later, handsome." he grabbed her hand and kissed it, letting go as she pulled away. She jogged off, across the gym, and into the locker room. She saw Logan waiting outside and ignored him, walking past and shutting the door behind her.

Sara, like most of the girls, was stripped down naked. The girls got into the communal showers and started to soap up. Savannah shed her clothes and followed suit. "Hey, all the shower heads are taken." she said, whispering to Sara as she joined her, their arms touching.
"No problem."

"So girls, awesome job. I'm sure Coach will be taking us out or at least giving us a cute little speech. But I wanna say I appreciate all of your hard work. We did well. And I hope you never get the idea that I think I'm the only one on the team just cause I'm captain." For a minute, she forgot she was naked, because most of the girls were straight, but she caught Sara staring at her bare pussy lips for a few moments too long as the rest of the girls turned around.

"Sara?" she said, softly. "Something you wanna tell me."
"Yeah, you got something there." she whispered back, reaching out to brush her fingertip across Savannah's hardened clit. Savannah's knees buckled, but Sara just smiled and got out of the shower, wrapping a towel around her. After finishing her shower, Savannah followed the rest of the girls out and got dressed, putting her socks and shoes on at the benches. Her mind was whirling. What the fuck was wrong with her lately? Girls? Married guys?

She shook her head and gathered her belongings, waiting until the rest of the girls were done. She lead them out into the hallway, feeling stressed and on edge, despite having just won.

Logan checked his watch and saw that it was time to start getting the team loaded onto the bus so that he could get them back to the school and back to their homes at a half way decent hour. He pulled his team roster out of his binder so that he could make sure he wasn't missing anyone. The last thing he needed was some half crazed parent yelling at him because he'd accidentally left their helpless flower of a child three counties over.

A couple of minutes later, the girls began to file out of the locker room, most of them ignoring the coach as they chatted and checked their phone messages. He began checking names off his list, walking up and down the hallway to make sure he hadn't missed anyone. Once Sara, Savannah and the last group of girls made it out of the locker room, many of them still with wet hair, Logan checked off the last name.

"Okay, girls. Everyone on the bus now," he instructed, holding the door open for them. "Savannah, hold back a second. I want to talk to you."

Savannah rolled her eyes and stood in front of Coach Reardon. Many of the girls giggled and snickered as they exited the building, "Ooooh, Coach is gonna punish you." One said, biting back a laugh,
"Yeah, he's gonna spank that ass." Another said, bursting out laughing. All of the other girls filed out and towards the bus, as Savannah's face flushed bright red. She ignored it and picked up her cellphone, flipping through some missed calls and texts.

"Oh, can I help you? Or were you hoping to see my panties?" she said, her face hard. "What's with you wanting to talk to me alone all of these times? It's not really proper conduct."

Logan heard some of the comments from the other girls after he'd asked Savannah to stay behind, and saw the way she blushed. He smiled, hoping to make it clear that he wasn't upset with her, but Savannah wasn't looking at him, having turned her attention to her cell phone. Having waited for the last of the girls to make their way out through the doors of the school and onto the bus, the coach was just about to speak up, when Savannah decided to open her big mouth.

"Oh, can I help you? Or were you hoping to see my panties?" she said, her face hard. "What's with you wanting to talk to me alone all of these times? It's not really proper conduct."

Damn this girl likes to make everything difficult, doesn't she? Logan took a breath, swallowing his initial response. No, he wasn't going to let her push his buttons this time. He was still in too good of a mood after their victory to let her ruin it.

"Actually, I wanted to tell you great job tonight. I'm really impressed with how you've taken on that captain's role, and brought the girls as far as they've gone in such a short period of time," Logan said, looking the teenager in the eyes. "As for the whole panties comment, I apologize. I had simply intended to break the tension after what happened with Coach Kline, but if I offended you or made you feel uncomfortable, I am sorry."

"It won't happen again," Logan added, feeling a strange tightness in his stomach.
