Interesting question.
I think that we have some degree of control yes. That is not the same as "choosing," but I think that depending on your world outlook you can affect in a major way how you think, feel and act.

Example: I am at work, a worker is upset about about something major that is in my departments area of resposibility. Lets take it closer and say that they are upset about something I am directly resposible for. said work blows up all over and has a drama scene. Now, I can take it personally that they are attacking my "space," or I can blow them off, or I can NOT take it personally and look to see if there is a real problem, or if this person is just having a bad day.

I took me personally alot of years (not a spring chicken here) to open my eyes that the only person responsable for me is me, how I think, act, feel is a result of how i see the world and how I think the world sees me.

When the ex left me, I choose to left her actions affect me in a major way. some of it was active choosing, other parts passive choosing. but in the end where i am at now is that people do things, i do things, somewhere in all that is interaction. I have the option to let it affect me, and how it affects me.

sort of long winded and i hope that helps a small bit.

and yes i understand your fears now about playmates, all i can suggest is that you take a deep breath, relax it out and wait. stick to yahoo for a bit if you enjoy it or chat here on this chat area again. what ever you find that makes you smile and keeps you feeling "safe" and happy.

so here i am in cozumel, mexico...in a few minutes i am hopping a cab to meet some diving buddies i met here at a dive shop at the best disco in town, señor frogs. do they have any idea how wild i am ?? lol i have no plans to do anything but dance but that will be enough fun for me...in cozumel, with friendly hispanic people, and i left my mom home at the resort to sleep in blissful ignorance.
