War of the Immortals

You know.... you are right about that one. Lokken must have been hit with that ice missile.

Ooc: Your absolutely right Cryo, but I'm not going to be the asshole to kill off Morgoth's character. Besides, you stated that no one could see the ice missile... no one was staring in the direction it was coming from, so logically no one would have reason to post about it... except Morgoth, who will either die or put up some sort of spell... or maybe even have it chip his armor... or hell I don't know, it's his post not mine.

Ic:

Garret smiled, embarrased.
"Well, I sort of ate some of the food and stuff, besides I never thought I would find you... it's lucky I did."
Although somehow he didn't think luck had anything to do with it.
"Isolde, tell me about you."
She seemed puzzled by the question.
"I don't...." he didn't want to offend her by the question, but he didn't want to seem like a love sick puppy either.
"Tell me..." why was this so hard? Just some simple words, his stomache felt like it was in knots though. His hands began sweating, and his mouth went dry.
Oh my god, you like this girl.
Garret shook the thought from his head, no way. Still, the thought lingered there, uninhibiting.
"Tell me about the elves?" He finally blurted out. It wasn't what he wanted to ask, but it was close enough.
... close enough.

Isolde

Isolde smiled at Garret and a puzzled look entered her eyes at his confusion. Then when he asked about elves, she thought she understood. He had never seen an elf before.

Shaking her head gently she said,"Dont worry about the food. I am glad it was able to do some good for someone."

Thinking on his question she said,"I suppose we are not much different than humans. We live, we work, we play, we raise our families just the way you do. We have the same emotions-saddness, joy, hate, love. The only differences are the longitivity of the elves and the fact that we tend to be closer to nature, with some exceptions, than humans do."

Her eyes sparkled as she talked. "My father is a warrior by heritage but, when he was off duty, we would go into the woods and he would teach me to hunt and track. I love the way nature surrounds you and kind of draws you into it."

"And my mother seemed especially sensitive to any living thing. She could make plants grow with a little loving care and kind words that everyone else had given up on. All of my childhood I remember our house was always decorated in living, growing things."

Breaking off from her trip down memory lane she blushed. "I apologize. You were asking about elves and here I go off on my own life. I didnt mean to bore you."

OOC: Let's sat it chipped his armor and he didn't notice. Sorry about replying, Cryo. Also, Could you not make Lokken look like a homicidal maniac that kills for fun. He never has been, isn't, and never will be. All he does, he does for Belial. That's pretty much his whoel 4,000 years.

IC: Lokken suddenly burst from the trees to the right of Garret and Isolde. "Get off the road, there is someone following", he whispered. They moved off the road and crouched low in the bushes. "I am going bacj to my dimension to retrieve my army", he whispered. He waved his hand and a portal opened up. He walked thrpugh the portal, waving to them.

Garret shrugged his shoulders, "What just happened?"
Isolde shook her head.
They continued on the trail.
Garret couldn't help but start to cry softly, all of this talk about family. His father was dead, dead by his own hands, his mother dead from a fireball, and his sister, his only sister out there somewhere ready to kill him without a moment's notice.
"I... you.... you have a very lovely family," he finally choked out, trying hard not to completely break down. He couldn't do that, he just couldn't. It's been three days now, he's been fine since then. Why now, why is it happening now?
Finally, after a long time, Garret breathed in and out deeply, trying to let it drown out into the background.
He saw Isolde was looking at him.
"I.. just had something in my eye," he laughed strangely into the open air.
Something was different in the air.
He could sense it, almost a feeling of transition. Nothing seemed different, but it was as though just something was no longer right.... no longer human.
"We're in elven forests now aren't we? I can tell because..."
Would she hate him if he told her he knew magic? Well, he didn't actually know any magic, but he could do it, not that he was going to do it anymore, thank you very much. Still, he couldn't tell her, what would she think of him then?
"... I can smell it."
He hated lying to her. He had lied before, many times, but somehow it just plain sickened him to lie to her.
"What exactly is this quest you are all going on?"
We... he thought after a minute, but he didn't let it sink in. He was just traveling with them for a while, to talk to the elf, thats all.
That was the only reason.

Isolde

Isolde's eyes opened wide and she pulled her horse to a stop to look at Garret.

"You can SMELL it?," She said, a smile breaking over her face,"You're sensitive to magic too, arent you? I've never met anyone else who had the same gift as I have."

"I knew you had magic from the start," She said,"But I didnt know you could sense the magic around us too. Many times people have one but not the other. To be sensitive to magic is quite rare. To use magic much more common."

Echem. I said they didn't see it when it was just a sparkle in the sky. and it's not a snowflake. Also I never said you were a homicidle maniack, I'm just saying that I'm obsessed with completing my original quest. which by now I've diluded myself into thinking is killing you. Hatred is blinding and overpowering, as you should know.

IC; Ether jumped out of the forest, his eyes coated in blue with rage. His Blizzard Katana was unsheethed, eminating an aura of cold. Deftly dashing across the group, he slashes at Lokken, creating a thin trail of frost in the air. He then jumped back into theforest and out of sight.

Isolde's head whipped around when she saw the attack against Lokken and she slide off of her horse, bow in hand. Slipping into the forest, she lets her hunter/warrior instincts take over and soon spots the elemental.

Her bow and arrow are in her hand before the thought even forms itself and the arrow catched Ether in the shoulder and pins him to a tree.

Walking up to him, rage in her face, she says,"Now you listen to me. This is the entrance to my homeland and these people are my guests. I will NOT have you bringing your feud into my lands-I will not connect this petty fighting with my family name."

"Now, I know that you can get that arrow out of your arm easily, and I will leave you to do it. If you can find it in yourself to leave the feud behind, you are welcome to join us-if not than do not follow. We leave in two days-what you do after we are out of my homeland I do not care."

Turning on her heel, she walks back to her horse and mounts. Gesturing to the others to follow, she leads the way.

Cristian sat and looked at the wall, perspiration dripping off his brow. Most of the day had been like pure hell to him as he had fought for his sanity and his very existence and had come close to losing on a number of occasions except that one entity was helping him. He looked at the fire and saw that it had almost died but when he went to throw some wood onto it one of the other voices in his head attacked him and caused him to scream out in pain. He raised his hands but as he did a line of flame flew from them and slammed into the roof of the cave, weakening it even further. As soon as the flames stopped Cristian's head slumped forward and he said, "You will not win this, it is my mind and body and I intend to keep it."

Cristian's head suddenly flew backwards when a voice came into his head and said, "You have to, you are one of the people that has to restore the balance."
As soon as the voice disappeared another entity attacked him and Cristian screamed so loud that the roof of the cave got blasted apart and flew into the sky.

Garret watched her as she walked back to her horse... what a woman.
Elf, he corrected himself, she's an elf.
Although, she didn't really look like an elf. She had all the features and everything, but she felt like more to him, something much more.
You do love her.
Garret shook his head silently, no he didn't. He just admired her moves, and her ideas, and her beauty...
Garret stopped thinking about it.
"That was pretty good. You know a lot about the bow and arrow. I was trained in the sword myself..."
He looked at her bow more carefully though,
"If you weren't busy sometime, maybe you could teach me? Only if you wanted to though, I wouldn't want you to give away elf bow and arrow secrets or anything."
He sounded like a child, rambling on like this. Garret could feel the sweat pouring off all over his body. Why did she do this to him? It had to simply be a reaction to the elven lands, a perfectly rational explanation... right?
He honestly couldn't answer that question.

Isolde

Isolde laughed and shook her head.
"Do not think of elves as a secret society or something of that sort. Though most elvin folks do not think associating with other races is worthwhile-we are simply a people who are somewhat different than humans, dwarves and others."

Looking at Garret she said,"Would it not be a boring world if we were all alike? It is the differences that make life worth living."

"And I would be honored to teach you what I know of the bow and arrow. If you were to want an expert opinion, however you should talk to my father. He is the best in the elvin lands."

Looking ahead, Isolde added,"In fact you will be able to see him soon. There is my village just ahead."

With one hand, she points to a grove of huge trees just ahead. There is no one that you can see but lights seem to blink in and out of the boughs.

Riding ahead she stops just before the trees and calls out in elvin. Immediately elvin men in chainmail come out from the trees, weapons in hand. A tall man comes forward and addresses Isolde while gesturing for the others to stand down.

Isolde gets down from her horse and walks over to the man and flings herself in his arms, still talking to him in elvin and, occasionally pointing out her companions. His arms go around her also and he kisses her fore head.

Standing away from the handsome elf, Isolde catches his hand up and walks with him to her companions.

"This is Tareel, my brother and Captain of the Elvin army," She says with a smile,"Forgive the welcome but, in these dark times, caution is needed."

OOC: I had said that Lokken was through the portal. That means in his dimension. Trust me, Cryo, Ether would not like to visit if he wants to kill Lokken.

IC: Lokken conjured a horse and set off at top speed toward Taros. He was ust off the borders and would soon be pulling out the army. The army that had for so long rested was now needed again. He quickly passed the borderline. As he rode through villages, the peasants and nobles alike stood and cheered for their great Emperor.

Garret smiled at the three people. He couldn't believe it, they were supposed to be speaking another language, one that was foreign to his entire people, but he understood every word.
The words weren't the same, and he knew they weren't, but he understood exactly what they said just the same.
Garret got off of his horse, and bowed to the elves. He wasn't sure exactly what was tradition around here, but he supposed respect was the same in every culture.
"My name is Garret, I'm a...." he paused for a minute, "I'm an adventurer."
It's was the best he could come up with on the spot.

As Cristian sat there he had a feeling that his first day of torment was over but the second would be the worst. It was then that he felt another attack coming on and closed his eyes to battle it, feeling the other entity within him back him up. Before he knew what was happening the attack started and hit him with such a force that it caused perspiration to stream down his face.

As Lokken's horse neared the palace, 20 Blade Demons, covered with golden snakes(symbolizing their status of Lokken's elite gaurds), walked forward and bowed low. "Get me Thrinta, immediatrely!" shouted Lokken. One of the demons sped off instantly. Two minutes later, the demon came back, bringing a larger and much more formidable-looking demon. This demon stood 3 feet taller than the rest, covered with different pieces of gold. He had a gold breastplate, two gold horn coverings, 4 large gold claws that were tied to his back that held his long black cape, and 5 golden claws that were 4ft long each made up his left hand. He had no sword, although his presence suggested one. "Lord Lokken", he whispered, bowing low. "What is your command?" he asked. "Rise, Thrinta. assemble the army quickly. Time is of the utmost importance", he said as Thrinta rose. Thrinta dispatched a messenger quickly. They waited there for 4 hours until the army had assembled. Dragons, demons, Paladins, normal humans, Necromancers, zombies, mages of every element, wurms, gargoyles, and skeletons all stood assembled in battle formations. "My soldiers, a new threat that is multi-dimensional is about to destroy a plane and move on. Soon they will come to ours. Belial commands us, therefore we must obey!" he shouted. He pointed with his large sword and a swirling portal opened. He made as if to stretch it, and it began to grow. "Take me to Isolde", he whispered. A large, eleven city suddenly appeared. He walked through first. "Elves, do not be alarmed. I am bringing an army through this dimensional portal. This army is to destroy Garath", he said as the first of his troops, the Paladins, walked through.

Garret watched as the portal took up pretty much an entire forest.
"How many people does Garath have working for him?"
"One."
Garret sighed wistfully, they must be the most powerful people in this... or any world. He wondered exactly why he, or anyone else was in this war. It seemed as if this army could take over an entire universe, and defeat these powerful people on the side.
"You think he might have overdone it?" he whispered to Isolde. A sudden lifting feeling came into his gut. With all these warriors and things he wouldn't have to do much, in fact he could finally go on to pursue his own things now...
He looked back at his horse, that would be nothing at the moment.
His lifelong quest, which he took simply to keep his mind off of his family was to find the elf, and now he did. A whole village of them.
What was he supposed to do now?

Crsitian's eyes opened when he felt the great influx of power and cursed himself for being stuck here. Suddenly a voice, the same entity that had been helping him appeared in his head and said, There is one way that you can speed this up but there are consequences.

I don't care... I want this over with so that I can be with my friends. Cristian said to the entity in his head.

Suddenly his whole body began to shake and Cristian began to shout in languages that he had never heard before but yet he understood every word that was spoken. Several hours later he opened his eyes and looked around to see that the cave was almost destroyed. He then looked up at the sky to see that it was night and got up off the rock that he had been sitting on for most of the night.

I have to show you something. the one voice in his head said, the one that had helped and guided him through his ordeal.

Before he could raise the question of what the entity meant a mirror that had a silver frame appeared before him and he looked at it, getting a shock. In the mirror was a face that was his but not his as his hair was now pure white and his ears were now slightly pointed like those of an elf.

He gasped when he saw his face and said, Thank you to the entity before he walked out of the cave and called to Nimbus who appeared instantly. He climbed onto the horse and then leaned down, whispering in his ear, "To my friends boy. Take me to my friends."

Isolde

Isolde nodded to Garret's question and walked up to Lokken. "I suggest you have your army camp without the walls of the city. There is not enough supplies or lodgings for them in the city walls."

Looking around at the elvin people standing around, some gawking and some trembling she added,"And I do not think that reassurances are enough to keep the fear of my people at bay."

Taking Adriana's arm in one hand and Garret's in the other, she said,"Come, while our friend settles his army. I must speak to the elders of the city so they will not be alarmed and they may be able to help in this matter also."

With that, Isolde and her companions walked into the trees which were the village. All of the elvin homes were built into the trees and they were reached by ladders made of vines. It was for protection as well as the fact that elves loved to be close to nature.

Lokken knew that Garath had felt his power and that of his army as soon as it had entered through the portal. He was probably summoning his own soldiers now. This would not be easy. The soldiers moved outside the city and set up their camp. Lokken set a large energy field about it that would keep out any unwanted guests. The soldiers quickly went to their commanders and began training. A few battalions had no general, but Lokken had done this on purpose. He gathered a few of his elite gaurds to him, with Thrinta at their lead. They walked into the city and walked up to an elf. "Excuse me, but where are the humans and the elf woman?" asked Lokken. The elf replied that they were with the leaders. Lokken and the Blade Demons quickly pinpointed the Great Hall, a tree much larger than the rest. They climbed up the ropes and walked in to find the elders and Isolde talking in whispers. "Hail!" shouted Lokken. "I am in need of three generals. Anyone of fighting status will do. These generals will lead some of my best brigades", he continued. "May I suggest Isolde?" he asked, bowing low to signal his respect.

"Aren't you popular," he whispered. Everyone wanted Isolde it seemed. She was the elf woman of the hour. Garret had to admire her, she was everyhting, a mage, a warrior, and now a respected general... well sort of.
Garret took another bite of his... well whatever it was it was delicious. He hadn't eaten a decent meal in forever, and this was certainly a delicious meal.
Garret had never seen one of those things hanging around him. They seemed like humans, but weird ones, difigure or something. A shutter went down his spine as one grimaced at him, at least he thought it was a grimace. It was hard to tell.
Garret nudged Isolde in the ribs, "Aren't you even going to answer him?"

"And, the young boy, Garret I believe, has the trappings of a leader. I would be honored if you two could accept my invitations", he said, still on his knees.

Cristian had been riding hard and when he looked out he saw to his amazement that he was near the elven village but something was different. Outside of the village there was a energy field that he could feel from where he was. He got down off Nimbus and walked to the field, raised his hand and touched it. As soon as his hand touched the energy field there was a loud sound and he found that his hand was stuck to the field. He then looked around, woundering who was going to kill him next, the elves or whoever was on the other side of the field.

Lokken felt the life force touch the field. "Christian, is that you?" he asked through his mind. After an affirmative, Lokken powered it down to let Christian through. After he had walked through, the field powered up again. "This is me, Lokken. You need to come to the great Hall", he said, before turning back to Isolde.

"Understood, I know where it is," Cristian said before he closed his eyes. He then disappeared and reappeared a second later in the great hall and looked at Lokken who he saw was on his knees and looking at Isolde.

He stood there and watched the scene, unsure of what to say or do as it looked as if something important was going on and he did not want to walk straight into it, therefore ruining the proceedings.

Lokken thought to himself for a moment, then decided. "Christian, why don't you become one of my generals as well?" he asked.
