War of the Immortals

Cristian stood there, taken aback. He never imagined, even in his wildest dreams that he would be a general. He looked at Lokken and said, "I would be honored to be a general in your army."

"Very good. That's one reply. You will lead my great 225th, they are undefeated. Isolde, if you agree, wil be leading a brigade of your choice. The same with you Garret", he said, turning to them. Thenhe turned to a demon. "Altack, assemble the 225th for my friend, Christian. Also, we must give him a weapon", said Lokken. After he was through telling the demon instructions, Altack ran off to carry out the directions.

"Do I really need a weapon, my magic is as powerful as it has ever been. But if you feel that I will need a weapon then I will take your suggestion and carry a weapon."

Cristian looked at Lokken and tried to figure out what type of weapon would suit him. He had never had a weapon before as he had never needed them but he had the feeling that with the upcoming battles he would need one.

Isolde

Isolde was take aback by the offer from Lokken. She was a warrior but she did not feel ready to take command of an army. She was torn. Then Cristian walked in-or what used to be Cristian for as she stared at him, she seemed to be staring at her master also-as if they had become one and the same. Her mind whirled with confusion.

Her eyes fell on the one source of comfort and strength she knew she could count on, her father. He sat around the councel as an honored warrior and head of the elvin army. She could see the pride in his eyes as she was asked to fulfil this position and she knew that he felt she was ready.

Nodding to Lokken she said,"I accept and thank you. We need to discuss what help we can gain from the elvin people as they are great warriors themselves. Their long lives permit them much more training and practice than humans so they have more experience."

Turning to the council, she knelt,"Great Council. Wise men all. Please hear my voice. The archers of the elvin woods are among the greatest in all the land. I would ask that those who choose to volunteer should be allowed to join us in this great cause. With thier strength and that of my friends, I know we shall prevail in this cause."

The Council bent their heads and confered. The seconds streatched to minutes and then the head of the Council-a wizened elf, spoke,"You have honored us with your words. You shall have your archers. However you may only have up to a third of what archers we have in the village as the rest must stay and protect our village should Garreth's army break through."

Isolde stood and bowed low. "Your offer is most generous," She said and turned to her father,"Can I count on you to spread the word to those trained in the bow that their services are needed?"

Her father nodded and left to spread the word. Isolde turned to her friends,"While they are gathered I propose we rest. We will soon be facing a very great evil and we shall need what strength we can get."

Adriana

Adriana sat in a corner watching the goings on and ignoring the food in front of her. She felt out of place and was worried about Cristian.

Suddenly Lokken announced that Cristian was on his way and her heart lept with joy. Her friend was coming back-he had survived. She turned, eager to see him walk in the door but instead a stranger entered.

She could not believe it. He had changed so much. His face looked like Cristian but, then again, it did not. His ears were elongated as if he were half elvin instead of human and the haunted look on his face told her all he had been through in those two days.

Her heart plummeted again as she feared every remenant of the man she had called friend was gone to be replaced by a stranger. Tears welled in her eyes and, once again, she felt lost. Turning away from the stranger that bore Cristian's name, she tried to concentrate on the goings on before her.

A messanger burst into the room, and panting, ran up to Lokken. "Sir, Sir! their's trouble outside!"

"What is is?" he asked

"Sir, some creatures are attacking us. They look like giant beasts, but their made of glass or ice or something. Nothing we do seems to hurt them!"

Lokken soured. "Does that elemental Ever give up!?" he ran outside of the room, wondering why he hadn't felt anything touch or penetrate his barrier.

Outside the sceen was terrible. A large group of ice elementals were attacking solders and plowing through their skillfull defences. A few lay on the ground charred, melted or shattered, but the bodies of mortals far outweight them. Summoning a fireball, Lokken utilizes his nature to melt these fiends from another plane. THe going was slow, as they were a little hardier than usuall, not melting as easily.
A couple of the giants collapsed for no apparent reason. THe line began to break from the inside as if attacked. Eventually, the two in the front stopped moving and fell into pieces, evenly cut. Ether appeared behind them, battered and bloody. Aparently week, he attacked the other ELementals while trying to get away from them.
One appeared behind Ether and struck him on the head. His healmet cracked and more blue blood sprayed. With strength born of desperation, he brought his blizzard katana around and sliced it in half. But then others caught up and landed a punch that sent Ether flying. Collapsed on the ground, He began to suffer severe beetings by the elementals. His katana was knocked away, his Ice saber stuck in the back of another one still moving, Too week from bloodloss and fighting, Ether collapsed and stopped moving. THinking the job was done, the rest of the elementals lost structure and melted into the ground

Cristian

Cristian walked towards where Adriana stood and smiled. He could instantly see the apprehension on her face and knew what the reason for it was. He walked to her and placed his hands onto her shoulders and looked into her eyes.

"Adriana, what is wrong. I know that I look very much different but in my heart, my soul I am still the same person that you were sent to almost two weeks ago. I am still you closest friend and will always be that person. It is true that my outwards appearance may have changed and some parts of my inner self has changed but I am still the same person."

Adriana

Adriana looked up into Cristian's eyes and tears formed in her own. Her arms came about his neck and she sobbed.

"Oh, Cristian, I was so worried I would never see you again. I was so scared you would be killed by all that was going on inside of you."

"I am so glad to see you back. Please forgive me for being hesitant about greeting you but I did not know who had won the battle you have been fighting."

Isolde

Isolde frowned at this turn of events. They could not afford for their army to be depleated and it looked like Ether was trying to make sure their mission failed.

Then her puzzlement grew as the elementals attacked their own. Gesturing to two elves, she said,"Go and retrieve him and get him to the healers. I will have answers from him before this day is through. Also put a guard upon him and ask Cristian if he will lend us his magic so as to bind him to this place so he may not escape before I have my answers."

The two nod and run off to fetch Ether while another runs to convey the message to Cristian.

When Cristian felt Adriana wrap her arms around him he realized how much of a mistake it had been not to accept her offer. She could have been the anchor that he needed in his battle with himself but he also thought that he couldn't have endangered her life.

"Adriana, I was wrong. Can you forgive me?"

Before he could say anything more a elf ran up to him and told him that he was need as Ether was attacking Lokken's- their army. He said that he would be there immediately and walked away in the direction that the elf had come from to see that all hell had broken lose.

He walked up to Isolde, "What is it that you want me to do?"

Adriana

Adriana nods and lifts her face to smile at Cristian. She is about to say something when the messanger that had been dispatched by Isolde ran up to both of them and relayed the request.

Adriana lets go her hold on Cristian and says,"Go, they need you. I shall be here when you are through."

Isolde

Isolde points to where the two elves are bringing Ether's body barely alive to the house of the healers.

"Something has gone wrong and that fool has brought his feud with Lokken into this. It has cost us men that would have been necessary in battle and perhaps time as we must regroup."

"I plan on having him healed and then interrogated and the only other that might be powerful enough to hold Ether here is Lokken. I have no intention of getting those two together and perhaps having my village destroyed so I am asking you if you will make sure he does not leave until I have my answers."

She looked at him and a shudder ran through her. She could not believe the familarity of her master as she looked at him. It caused sorrow and unease in her but she sqashed it quickly. Everyone was needed in this fight and, if this was to be the way her master would be a part of this fight, than so be it.

"I will do as you ask," Cristian said before he followed the healers home.

Once there he watched the healers go to work on Ether and silently thought that they should fail as this person had caused us more trouble than they could afford. When he looked up from his thoughts he saw that the healers were gone and that Ether was slowly opening his eyes.

As soon as he saw this Cristian closed his and thought up a spell that would hold Ether. As soon as he opened them again he saw the blue white energy wall that surrounded the inside of the room and Ether looking at him.

"What have you done and who are you?" Ether said, moving towards Cristian.

"I am Cristian Cofaldeon. You have met me once before. You have also been to my tower and talked to me about the balance but I need to know why you have attacked Lokken, what has he done or what do you think he will do?"

Ether looked at Cristian before he sat back down on the bed that he had been laying on. Cristian saw that he was not going to get any answers from him so he sent out a message to Isolde, Come to the healer's house. Ether is awake.

Cristian then sat down on a chair and looked at Ether, who looked straight back at him.

Isolde

Isolde entered the healer's house as soon as she got the message and looked from Cristian to Ether and back again. The look in Cristian's eyes told her all she needed to know and she approched the elemental in his prison of energy.

"You will give me the answers I seek," She said to him in a low and threatening voice,"Or I will call all of the elvin mages in the village to slowly torture you with fire until we have undone all of the healing that has been done."

"Heed me well, Ether, we elvin are gentle folk most of the time but we are also very protective of our families and lands. You have put that in danger with your fued with Lokken. I care not for the hatred you have to each other and, once this is done, you may go into any deminsional plane you choose and be locked into battle for all eternities."

"But you will not endanger those I love by eliminating the army that is to help us crush this evil or you will have me to deal with through the eternities also."

"So answer my questions. Why did you attack Lokken's army and why did the elementals turn on you and try to take your life?"

Lokken stood there, a look of suspicion on his face. He went into his tent and sat down on the throne. Demons scurried forward to do his bidding, but he dismissed them with a wave. He sat and thought and thought, until he leaped off his throne as if it was made of hot coals. He ran out of his tent and through the camp and into the city. He felt Cryo's presence first, and then the others. He charged up the stairs and leaped into the room. "I know it. I know it!" he cackled maniacly. He drew his sword and began to cut strange patterns into a wall.

Isolde

Isolde jumped up and cursed in elvin.
"What is this madness, Lokken?," She said,"Explain yourself!"

She looked over at Cristain to see if he could make out what Lokken was meaning.

Cristian looked at Isolde and said, "Calm down. He is just bringing up a spell. Now ask Ether your questions and let me deal with Lokken."

He then disappeared and appeared next to Lokken who was still carving symbols into the wall.
"What are you doing Lokken. Is it something that will destroy us or even endanger us, if so then I will please ask you to stop. I know that we are comrades in this war but if you are doing something that will endanger all of us then it is something that I can not allow to happen."

OOC; Hey, give me time people. I'm not online 24/7 keeping a close eye to this place you know!

Oh, by the way. I would have kept my character mentally broken, unresponcive, and mute for a while, though amnesia is still good.

IC; The elemental looked at the strange people with a blank stare. They were asking him complicated questions and not answering his own simple ones. Attack? Lokken? Plans? He had no clue what these people were talking about. Before, someone made a thread, emplaszing that the tourchur would be by fire. What's so special about that compared to other methods of pain?

They did tourchur him eventually. Spells of pain, Fires, stretching, Various things were inflicted upon him for deals of time. He screamed, and raved, but when all was over, knew no more how to answer their questions than before.

A forboading man appeared outside of his cell of force, and started to angrilly cast some spells. Ether stared at him blankly, having no knowledge that there was anything special about this stranger, save his obvious power, and anger.

Eventually, their mistreatment got to the confuzed elemental, and he began to weep. Asking why repeadedly, his tears ran unchecked down a pleading face.

Isolde

Isolde turned away from the weeping elemental. She had hated what they did to him but they had to know what was going on. She called in the healers and instructed them to heal his wounds and the mages to wipe his memory of the torture.

Turning to Cristian, she said,"I dont think we are going to get anything from him. I will leave instructions to for him to be taken care of while we are away at battle."

To Lokken she said,"It looks like your fued is over, Sir."
Then she exited out of the healers place and into the night, disappearing into the trees she loved and trying to find a way to forget what she had been forced to do. She wished she could have had the mages wipe her own memory but she knew it impossible. Besides, she was going to have to do much worse when the battle commenced and she wondered what kind of monster she would be once this was over with.

Sitting there, on a large branch that spread out over the forest, she let the tears she had been keeping back from the time she had known of her master's death until now flow down her face. Sobs wracked her as she let the emotions take her and sweep her away.

Cristian watched Isolde walk away and then turned to Lokken. He had to get out of the building and see someone or he would be haunted with the picture of that torture for the rest of his life. He then closed his eyes and disappeared in a blue white flash of light and reappeared in the meeting place again but this time it was void of people except for the one person that he hoped was still there. He walked up to Adriana and said, "I need to ask you something and if you say no then I will understand. I want you to be with me, in my army in the upcoming battles."

Lokken rambled on madly. "Danger... yes... all... yes... us... yes" he muttered, too busy to comprehend Christian's words. Suddenly he stepped back and the symbols began to glow.

Garret sat down. He breathed in heavily and let it out in a sigh. Things were going too fast (hello, we have made more posts today than in the past week, whats up?).
Him a general? He didn't even know how to shoot an arrow, much less tell a whole army to do so. However, there wasn't much out there for him anymore. He didn't have anything to do, or anywhere to go. At least General's got dinner.
But he would be responsible for people's lives? He couldn't do that, he was barely 17. He couldn't have taken care of his own sister for longer than a day, now he was asked to take care of soldiers? With weapons?
They would probably yell at him until he started crying. If they are brave and strong enough to be in Lokken's army then they are brave and strong enough to have their own general's, he didn't want anything to do with it.
Garret sighed again. That felt like a big weight lifted off of his chest. He looked up at the trees, taking in the beauty of the forest. Elven forests were beautiful, he couldn't doubt that. Their sturdy trunks, long elegant branches, sobbing elves hanging from them, even the little leave that...
Sobbing elves?
Garret looked back at the branch. Nope, he was wrong, only one elf. It was Isolde, she was crying?
Why was she crying? What had he done now? Garret cursed himself, whatever he did, he must have done it, there was no one else here who would make a mistake and then not know how to fix it.
Garret started climbing the tree, maybe he could apologize. It seemed as though elves were better climbers than humans. He fell down with a loud thud.
Stars danced into his eyes. Garret looked up and saw Isolde staring back at him. Actually it was two Isolde's
"I'm sorry, I should go," he said, as soon as Isolde became one elf again.

Garath

Garath sat there and stared down at his most trust general, Garik Darkthorne.
"Arise and report the progress of the army."
Garik rose and looked at the dark mage. As he rose the first thing that the light from the torches shone onto was the scar that ran from the bottom of his hairline on the right side of his face and ran diagonally to stop at the bottom of his face at the left side of his face.

"Very well my lord. We have encountered some resistance but our lichs and dark knights have destroyed them without any trouble. They have levelled every village that they have come upon and making the villages become refugees that move towards the ruling city. Your plan is working lord, very soon the city will be inundated by the refugees and the king will have to fight through them to get to us and by the time he does it will be too late."

A smile came to Garath face as he stood up and walked down the steps to stand before Garik. As soon as he was standing before him he said, "You need armor that is best suited to your fighting style. Here."

Garath then laid his hand onto Garik's shoulder and then backed away, watching as Garik was enveloped by a dark light which seemed to suck all the light out of the room. Within the dark light Garik had his head raised in a silent scream as Garath stood there, an evil grin on his face.

Then, as suddenly as the dark light had enveloped his general it disappeared to reveal that the person within it had become taller and was now wearing dark armor that sprouted spikes everywhere and seemed to have the same properties of the dark light that had made it. Garath walked to the throne and after sitting down told Garik to take off the helmet and after he did he smiled for he was looking at a skull.

Adriana

Adriana looked at Cristian in puzzlement. "Of course I shall be with you," She said,"I have made you that promise and I will not back out of it."

She reached over and touched his arm lightly. "Cristian, what is the matter? Why do you look as if you have visited the bowels of hell itself?"

Isolde

Isolde gently pushed Garret back onto the leafy branches of the tree and looked at him in concern. "You are not going anywhere until I make sure you are all right," She said as she ran her hands over him to make sure there were no broken bones or other damage.

Having satisfied herself that he was okay, she sat beside him and said,"What are you doing out here? I thought that I was alone?" "Not that I don't like being around you," She said hurriedly, wiping the tears from her cheeks,"I was just....I was..."

Looking off into the night she could feel the tears flow again. "Oh, Garret, I have become a monster and all in the name of saving people's lives. I can't get out of my mind what I had to do today. How am I to be able to look at myself again knowing what I did to Ether?"

"I am not worthy to lead men into battle and I was a fool tho think I was. Is it right to hurt one or a few so that many survive? And how do I live with myself knowing that I might have to do it again?"

She sat there looking out into the night, not really expecting an answer but just being content to sit there with him.
