War of the Immortals

Isolde

Isolde shook her head.
"I was only there as a conduit. I could never have managed to do that alone."

She took her hands and placed them alongside his face and gently brought it up to look at her. "Garret," She said in a calm and sincere tone,"What you did tonight. It did more for me than the best healers could have done. You have helped me redeem myself in my eyes and those of my people. I can never repay this-yet I will try."

Leaning forward, she let her lips brush his cheek-the only way she knew how to communicate to him her gratitude. Looking deeply into his eyes, she said,"No matter what, I will always consider you my friend. You have gained my loyalty for as long as you shall live."

Cristian

Cristian opened his eyes and looked at Adriana then raised his hands seconds before a line of pure white energy flew from his hands into the sky. He looked at her and said, "What did you think you were doing. I was training you to make your defenses stronger- I forgot to tell you that and I am sorry."

He then looked into her eyes and said, "Now, you have to make your defenses so strong that the energy will do several things; either fly straight into the air, disapate or fly straight back into me. Are you ready?"

Adriana

Adriana was taken back by Cristian's tone of displeasure. She had not understood what he had wanted. Nodding her head she again closed her eyes.

This time, she imagined a wall in front of her-one that no one could get around. Cristian's face was on the other side of the wall and he was probing it for cracks and kinks. He started finding some. Adriana could tell that her defenses were weak against him. She could not put up a strong fight against her friend.

Then the dissaproving tone entered her mind again and she frowned,"NO!". She would not fail him again. As the bricks came down from her wall, she imagined a wind that rose from her side of the wall and slammed against the intruder trying to get in. Again and again, bricks were taken from the wall and again the force of the wind prevented him from breaching the wall completely.

Finally with one mighty thrust, the wind shoved the power that was from Cristian away from her and.....she opened her eyes just in time to see the energy being flung back at Cristian in a brilliant flash of light.

Quickly Adriana got to her feet, concern showing for her friend,"I am so sorry!," She cried out as she looked to make sure he was alright,"I'm sorry, please forgive me!"

A friend? He blushed brightly. He had never had a friend before, and above all it was an elf.
Garret didn't know what to do. She kissed him on the cheek. Again he blushed. Did friends really do that?
He had no clue, but just to make things easier he kissed her back. A gentle peck on the cheek.
"If we are friends now. I want to tell you something. I have never told anyone else about this, and I don't plan on telling anyone ever again. It's not that it's a secret, but it's just something I don't want to live with anymore."
Garret stood up, and leaned over to the side. The bottom was far off. There was a feeling of weightlessness up here, a true feeling of flying.
Garret started from the beginning. A simple rose, and kept talking. He stopped in the middle, to grab a glass of water. And once in a while to change positions.
He kept looking at her face, expecting her to begin to hate him or show some discomfort for him.
He had killed his parents, anyone who did that had to be a monster, didn't they?
After a long while, way after that sun had finally set for the night, he finished. A long silence followed.

Cristian looked up at her, "I'm alright and there is nothing to forgive. You did as I asked and you did it well."

He then looked down and saw that his tunic now had a gaping burn hole in it although his skin was untouched. He looked at her with a smile and said, "If you can make it so that no magic can get through that barrier then you will be powerful but I do have a word of warning, never use you emotions when you are using your gift because even though that will give you power it will be a false power and I don't want to see that happen. So, the first thing that we have to do is teach you to control your emotions."

He then stood and grabbed Adriana's hand then the two of them disappeared in a flash of light. When they reappeared they were both far up in the sky. Cristian turned to Adriana and said, "The first emotion I want you to control is fear. Now, look down."

Isolde

After his tale was done, Isolde just stood there. A tear rolled off of her cheek as she heard in his voice how truly miserable he had been and what he had been through.

"By all the gods, Garret," She said finally, taking his hands,"How did you live through that with your sanity still intact? Were it me I would have gone insane-you must have great strength to be able to live with that."

Impulsively, she put her arms around him and held him close. "Never...never feel as if you are alone," She said as she hugged him close,"I will always be here for you. I promise."

Somewhere, deep within the bowells of an energy prison, the elemental began to stir. Slowly at first, as if waking from a long deep sleep, Ether groggilly opened his eyes. His first impression was that he was in a room or basement or dungeon somehwere. Where, and how he got there, he couldn't remember. He lifted his head to look around a little more.
Big mistake.
Pure exaustion, dizzynedd and disorientation flooded Ether as he tried to lift his head. Managing to turn over, he collapsed again and tried to regain his composure. After a few minutes, the dizzyness passed. Ether was fully awake now, and aware of his exaustion. Raising his head again, slowly this time, Ether saw a table with his father lying on it. "...F-father..." he muttered, extending his hand weekly towared the table. The Katana began to shimmer, and vibrate. Sliding across the table seemly of it's own accord, it fell off and clattered on the floor. Rising an inch above the ground, the weapon began to hover towared his extended hand, penetrating the energy field as if it were not there. Ether managed to grab it before falling into blackness once more.

Adriana

Adriana did as Cristian bid her and looked down. Panic swept her and she threw her arms around his neck and held on tight. Her breathing was ragged and she was shaking.

But she knew Cristian wanted her to conquer this fear so she concentrated on calming her breathing first. Made herself breath in and out slowly. Once that was done, she forced herself to calm down and stop her trembling.

Opening her eyes, she again looked down at the ground. For a moment, she felt as if her head was spinning but then she began to feel a different feeling. It was a feeling of invigoration. The feeling of being up in the air and looking over the land beneath of her was exhilerating.

"It's beautiful, Cristian," She breathed as they floated there above all of their problems and cares,"So very beautiful."

Lokken suddenly snapped out of the time prison and cackled psychoticly. The runes shimmered now and suddenly erupted. Light poured forth as a large figure covered in spikes was hurled through. It had it's helmet in it's hand and was obviously a skeleton. "Damn you, that was intended for your master!" he shouted loudly, bringing in different people. Lokken's elite gaurds rushed into the hut. "New generals and old, Lord Lokken has found something!" one of them shouted, the voice letting everyone within 20 miles know what the demon had said. The skeleton leapt outside with agility not available to them. "Ah, a Turn spell", Lokken whispered before leaping out as well. The skeleton put it's helm on and pulled out it's sword. Lokken pulled out his sword. Lokken's sword suddenly had fire racing up and down it's blade. The skeleton's had black fire. "Give me power, oh almighty God of Darknes!" shouted the skeleton, but nothing came. "You fool, the spell takes the God's power away from you. But no, you had to get into the spell's way! That spell was meant for Garath. He is nothing without his god!" laughed Lokken.

OOC; what, now I'm not worth your attention? you are standing just outside of my energy prison you know!

IC; Oh..... uh.... Ether slept through the battle, though his father, the blizzard katana, managed to protect him from the powerfull energies at work.

OOC: Hey Hey... don't kill my general yet as I had some plans for him, and he ain't a skeleton it is just his face that is devoid of flesh.

IC: Cristian looked at Adriana and said, "It is beautiful up here. There is not a care in the world up here and it it most peaceful."

He looked around and took a deep breath then sighed, he knew that he was going to have to go back down soon as this war was gaining momentum and as a general he would have to lead an army into battle although he wished that he could stay up here for all time.

Garret hugged her tightly. There was nothing else to do, he suddenly felt all alone. His own sanity being questioned, no friends, no place to call home. He hugged her, crying softly into her shoulders, trying to drown these thoughts away.
Slowly, after time they did, they subsided back to where he had put them before.
Isolde's grip was so comforting. She cared for him. He didn't know why but she did. Something strange and warm flooded throughout his body.
He placed his hands on her shoulders, and looked deep into her eyes. Yes, he did see her care, he didn't even know what he was looking for, but it was there.
Garret's lips found hers, and he kissed her deeply. He wanted nothing more in the world then to be with her right now.
Garret broke away frightened. He placed his hands in his lap, rocking nerviously.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that."

Adriana

Adriana smiled and nodded.
"You could almost believe that the war we are in does not exist, couldnt you? Its as if we were the only two people on the earth."

She laughed at the irony of the statement and her attention was caught by some birds flying buy. She reached out her hand as if she would touch them but didnt. It was so peaceful up here in their world.

Looking at Cristian, she said,"But, I suppose we have to come back to reality some time."

Cristian

"We do.... I wish that we didn't because there is nothing that I would like better than to stay up here and forget about everything but you are right, we do have to get back to reality."

With that he closed his eyes and the two of them floated slowly down to the ground. As soon as they were on the ground Cristian looked at Adriana and said, "Now, for the most difficult emotion to overcome- Anger."

Isolde

Isolde felt her breath catch in her throat as Garret kissed her. She had never in her life been kissed-not even by an elvin male. She had been so caught up with being trained as a warrior and then being trained as a mage and then this war that she had never even thought about someone special in her life.

But when Garret kissed her, those thoughts definately came into her mind and much more. It was as if a floodgate of emotions had been awakened with that one gesture and, when he broke of the kiss, she was left with confused feelings and her lips tingling from where his touched hers.

Looking at him, she barely heard him say that he was sorry, she was too busy trying to sort out the feelings inside her. The only thing that she could think of was that she wanted his lips back on hers again. That seemed to be the only time that she had been sure of what she was feeling.

Slowly, she put her hand under his chin and turned his face to hers. She looked deep in his eyes for a moment before placing her mouth over his and returning his kiss. Her arms went around his neck as if on their own accord and the kiss deepened. She could almost feel the electricity between them in the very air.

Adriana

Adriana looked at him and shook her head.
"I have rarely felt anger in my life. Even when they closed me up in that tower I did not get mad at anyone. I suppose I knew why they had to do it."

She shrugged,"But if that is what I have to work on than I will. Lead on, Teacher."

She was an elf, she probably had a husband and little elf kiddies running to and from school. She certainly didn't have time for love, she was a warrior, and a magician even, better than him. At least she knew some spells, how could he think he ever had a...
She looked at him. He couldn't help but stare back. Her eyes burned into him, exposing him. He wanted her too though, as much as he wanted to pull away he knew he couldn't.
She kissed him. Her lips like fire on his. She kissed back, putting his arms around her. He wanted her at thie moment, he needed this, but more importantly he wanted it. She was close to him, near him, kissing him.
He let his tongue find hers. It was romantic, no it wasn't romantic it was more than romantic. It was like something he had never experienced before, and he loved every minute of it.
He did love it. Letting his fingers trace down her back lightly, Garret kissed her lovingly.

Isolde

OOC: Double post. Please ignore.

Isolde

Isolde let her tongue play with his. His hands sent shivers down her spine and she deepened the kiss, wanting more of him. When she broke of the kiss, her breath was coming heavy and fast. She couldnt think...didnt want to think...just wanted to know that he was there.

With a sigh, she placed her head against his chest and closed her eyes, feeling his hands tracing patterns on her back. She didnt care if the world ever entered into her thoughts again. In fact wished the world would just go away.

It was not to be though, as she was getting lost in her newfound feelings, she heard the clang of metal on metal and it slowly dawned on her that it was coming from the healer's hut.

Sitting bolt upright, she looked at Garret and said,"The healers. Something is happening with Ether. Come on, lets go!"

Feeling the loss of his closeness, she got to her feet and grabbed his hand. Of all the times for the elemental to interfer. Quickly running to the hut, she burst in on a scene that stopped her cold. It wasnt the elemental at all. There was Lokken fighting with the ugliest guy she had ever seen. In a moment, her sword was in her hand and she signaled for one of the healers to come to her.

"Go find Cristian," She said to him,"Tell him he is needed. We have to close whatever portal this fool opened before he lets in more of these abominations!"

With that, she lunged forward and swung her sword to connect to the kight's armor. Hoping to distract it long enough for Cristain to arrive.

OOC: Actually, I also have plans for the general. And not to die. There is no portal. The spell was a simple teleportation, except it took away any power the god could have or would have given you. It was originally aimed at Garath, but the general got in the way as he tried to make his report. Lastly, Lokken thinks that the general is a skeleton.

IC: Lokken saw Isolde lunge at the skeleton. Lokken's own sword soon sought the armor and burned a hole through. Lokken gasped as he saw human flesh and insides beneath the armor. But he quickly hid his surprise as the thing lunged at him. "I will have to drain this spell from Garath's corpse", he muttered, dodging the blade barely. Then the skeleton was off, running into the forest. But Lokken quickly caught up with him and they resumed their fight. Lokken made a fiegn to the right and the thing accepted it. Without warning, Lokken threw the sword up over the thing's head and swung left, taking off it's head. The mouth opened in a scream but no sound came out. Instead a blue thing in the shape of a dragon flew out, and began to snake it's way towards the mountains. Within an hour, it had found the Shadow Dragon's cave. It flew in and a roar that was heard everywhere was sounded. Now this dragon flew out, only in both eyes it had a dark, dead look. As if it was being controlled from inside by a soul.

Ether started to stir. How long has he been out, who knows.

Looking up slowly, he sees His accursed enemy fighting an undead corpse. He was backing towared him though, slowly and seemly unaware of his existance while fighting the thing. the elf was there too, battling along his side. Ether had not seen that though, he only saw his enemy. Faining to still be unconcious, he regripped his katana, and waited or Lokken to inch closer.

SLASH

Ether jumped up and slashed with lightning speed across Lokkens back. But the evil mage appeared to not even notice it, and no damage was evne sustained. It was as if his weapon had slid across some sort of invisible energy field. Hacking and slashing at the wall confirmed this notion.
Lokken noticed the comotion. "Instead of wasting your energy like that, how about helping us against this abomination!"
Anger began to welt up in Ether. Summoning his inlane power, he willed the air to freeze around Lokken. He moved out of the way though, accidentily, and the cold only managed to chill the air a little. THen something weird happened. The walking skeleton breathed a blue fire dragon, which clew off into the distance. Confusion took over the elemental then.

Isolde

Isolde looked at them with disbelief. She could not comprehend how these humans, who were invited into her village could act with such total disregard for the safety of those in her village or her family's honor.

She was not surprised when she heard a voice at her elbow. A young elvin male with a stern face was there and reporting that she was wanted in the councel building. With a sigh and a gesture for Garret to stay put, she left.

Approaching the building, her heart fell to her stomache. She knew what would happen. She had brought shame to her family name and danger to her village by inviting the strangers in. Now, instead of the prejudges between elves and humans lessening, they were made stronger by the unthinking acts of a few.

Stepping inside, she knelt down in front of the councel and bowed her head in respect. The elder frowned her way and said,"We have much to talk about, Young One." "Yes, Elder," Isolde murmured softly as the door was shut behind them.

It was several hours later that Isolde emerged behind the runners that were spreading the word that the village was to treat her as an outsider. She could see the people turning their backs on her as she walked by and she could see the pain in the eyes of her family as they did the same.

Because of the actions of Ether and Lokken, the councel had decided that Isolde was to be stripped of her family title and honor and exhiled from the village. They held her responsible for bringing the outsiders into the village. It was the only way that her family could be saved. By her sacrifice, they would remain with honor in the village. Isolde had promised that the army and all of the outsiders would be out of the village and away from elvin lands before the sun rose in the morning.

Walking into the healer's hut, Isolde looked at Garret and then turned away. "We leave now," Was all she said before leaving to find Cristian and have him remove the spell from around the elemental. When she turned to leave, it was evident that her elvin sword with her family crest was missing and all she had was an empty scabbord.

Garret wanted to fight. He truly did, he wanted to tear something's head off. He could feel the anger rushing through him.
He didn't have a weapon though, he realized he never did have a weapon. So, reluctantly he watched and waited as Isolde and Lokken fought the good fight.
She had to leave. He wanted to kiss her goodbye, maybe even give her a hug, a welcoming hug. She seemed like she needed one at the moment.
She left, telling him to stay.
Two hours later she came back. She didn't even look at him. He wondered what had happened. They had to leave?
Garret ran up to Isolde, she seemed so sad. Was it something he did? He came on too strong didn't he?
Garret had no idea how elves did things.
"What's wrong?"
He touched her shoulder softly, "Please speak to me. You said we were friends, please tell me what's wrong."
She looked so sad, he wanted nothing more than to snap his fingers and make whatever happened not happen. With the amount of power everyone else kept saying he had, he might have been able to do that, but still he knew he could do nothing.
She did look so pretty though.

Isolde

Isolde stopped. They were now out of the village and on the way to find Cristian. Looking at Garret, she almost felt her resolve weaken and the tears she was holding back, flow.

"I have been exiled, My..friend," She said, a sad smile on her lips. The title did not seem to fit with what they had shared a short time ago,"I was held responsible for what happened in the village and rightfully so. By bringing this to my village, I have endangered everyone there. I used bad judgement."

"I no longer have a family or honor. It has been taken because of my foolishness. Do not worry about it," She said, placing her hand on his arm,"The councel knows best and I accept the decision. I knew when I brought everyone here that the actions of those I brought would be considered my own by the councel."

She looked away from his inquisitive gaze. If she looked him straight in the eyes, she knew she would break down and cry.

Garret hugged her tightly. He cared for her so much, he didn't want anything to happen to her, especially not this.
"Shh, it's ok. I know what it's like to lose a family."
They had both lost their families. He felt so close to her at this moment. He needed someone to hang onto, someone to help him get through this.
He needed to help her get through this as well.
"We'll stick with each other ok? You and me, we'll help each other out."
He whispered it into her ear softly, almost like a whisper. Wisps of her hair fell ont his face. He cherished every minute of it, laughing softly as a tear fell down his cheek he remembered hugging Rana, and her hair doing the same thing.
He held onto her hand tightly.
"Come on, we have a few things to do before the time is up."
