War of the Immortals

Isolde

Isolde held onto Garret and let her body melt into his. It felt so good to be able to have someone to cling to when she had just lost all she had ever known.

She nodded into his neck when he said that they would stick together. Somehow she did not feel so alone now.

She even had a half smile upon her face when Garret moved back and grabbed her hand. Following him, never thinking to question him, she asked puzzled,"Garret, where are you taking me?"

Cristian looked at Adriana and said, "I want you to think of everyone that was nasty to you and focus on that."

Cristian then sat back and watched Adriana, seeing if she could control her anger as that was probably the hardest emotion of all to control but it was the one that she had to control or Garath was going to use it for his purposes.

Adriana

Adriana sat down and concentrated on feeling anger. She visualized all the humiliations and years of confinement but only a disappointment and lonliness filled her. She then pictured all the times that people had tried to kill or hurt her friends on this quest and she could feel the anger rise and wash over her.

She felt her breath taken away by the force of the anger. It was as if a dam had broke and she was caught in the flood. She opened her eyes and she knew that they were smoldering with the anger. She tried to get a grip on it but she had never before let her anger out so now it was controlling her instead of the other way around.

Cristian looked at her and saw the anger that was in her eyes then said, "Let it out. Because if you do not then it will consume you. That is what my master told me when I first went to him because I had a lot of anger in me. Now, let it go!"

Cristian closed his eyes and concentrated on a spell that would cause any energy released to hit him.

Adriana

Adriana felt a pull from Cristian. It was as if he was draining her anger from her. She started to let him do it but then realized that was not what he wanted.

Concentrating again, she visualized making the anger into a big ball of energy and, when it seemed to contain every bit of her anger, she pushed it away from herself and towards Cristian.

Cristian saw the big ball of energy before him in his minds eye and knew that it was the sum of all of Adriana's anger. The ball then began to fly towards him as he wanted and he put up an energy wall to stop it.

The ball then slammed into the wall and stopped for a second, making Cristian smile but then he felt the energy within the ball seconds before it ripped straight through the wall and slammed straight into Cristian, causing him to slide across the ground and end up under a tree.

Adriana

Adriana lept to her feet and ran to where Cristian was laying under the tree. She cried out his name as she knelt beside him, worry creasing her face.

"Cristian, are you okay," She tryed to control her voice,"Please tell me you are alright. I am so sorry. I didnt realize I had that much anger in me. Please speak to me Cristian."

Cristian

Cristian opened his eyes with a smile, "You did exactly what I wanted you to do. You got rid of all your anger, it was a crazy way for me to do it. I didn't think that that you had that much power but that was a slight mistake on my part."

He began to get to his feet but as he did he fell back again and shook his head. The blow had hit him harder than he expected. He closed his eyes but found that he couldn't concentrate on his magic, it was as though his mind had been hit with the blast as well as his body.

He looked up at Adriana again. She still had the look of worry on her face, as though she had hurt him seriously and he was secretly hoping that she hadn't himself.

He sat back down and asked Adriana to sit beside him which she did and then he asked her to close her eyes and just listen to everything and tell him how she felt.

Lokken smiled, unknowing of the fact that the general hadn't died. He heard of the conversing between the council members and cursed aloud. He set off to find his generals. Starting with Christian. He felt he would need more than just himself to look into her eyes.

Cristian sat there, looking at Adriana when he heard a noise off to his right. He looked over and sighed when he saw Lokken walking towards him. He got to his feet and said, "Yes, what is it that you want of me?"

"Isolde has been disowned by her family. I am part of the cause. Plus, we need our army gone by sundown. And since you are a general, you will lead part of it. You can take Adrianna along if you want", he said. Then all three of them headed towards where Garret and Isolde were.

Adriana

Adriana was sitting there and concentrating on her surroundings as Cristian had instructed her when she heard him get up and she opened her eyes to see Lokken approach.

Getting up, her eyes widen at his news. "Oh,no!," She said, knowing how it was to have your family disown you. "Cristian, that's horrible. What can we do?"

She hurried after the men as they went back towards town.

Cristian

"I could talk to her but I doubt that that would do any good as she might want to talk to someone like Garret. I noticed that they were getting close so I think that it would be best to leave those two to talk. But, we do have to get the army out of the village by sunrise and seeming as I am a general I have to be there to lead them."

Cristian started to walk away but then stopped and waited until Adriana was beside him then smiled. He was not going to leave without his closest friend and now student.

Adriana

Adriana smiled back at Cristain. "You are right, of course," She said with a nod. "But shouldnt we do something about letting Ether out of his magical prison? We cant just let him stay here."

"Oh, by all the gods I forgot about Ether. I was concentrating so much on helping you that I forgot. I will back as soon as I can," Cristian said before he disappeared in a flash of light.

When he reappeared he was in the healers house looking straight at Ether who was trying to break out of his prison. Cristian looked at him before he raised his hands and looked at the wall before lowering them. He then looked at Ether again and said, "You are free to go but on one condition. You must not attack Lokken, he is now an ally and as another ally I ask you not to attack him."

He walked towards Ether and before he knew what was happening teleported him to where Adriana and Lokken were standing. Cristian smiled before he disappeared himself and reappeared next to Adriana who smiled at him.

Garret turned around, looking at Isolde.
"Oh, I thought we were going to Christian's," he walked another few steps.
Then it dawned on him, "Oh yeah, I have no clue where he is, or that other girl either."
He fell a step or two behind her, looking at the small of her back with deep affection.
"You are a better leader anyway. I can lead pretty well, but sooner or later we'll go around in a circle. Besides, at least you know these woods. We need to leave here soon, it's almost sun(I saw set and rise, both on different posts, so I'll just let whatever it is be there).
Garret felt a slight breeze come up, he couldn't help but feel a little cold. The air wasn't as summery as it used to be, winter was coming. That's what the wind said, winter was coming.
"We should get going, unless you want to spend all of our time in the forest alone," he smiled gently.

Isolde

Isolde gave him a puzzled look and burst out laughing. She felt crazy, laughing after what just happened but she couldnt help it around this man.

"First of all being alone with you is not the worst thing I ever heard of. Second of all instead of me leading why dont we go together? Remember? Thats what you said a little bit ago...together."

Looking up into the sky, she concentrated on the magics around. She had lived here he whole life and she knew every small stir of magic that the forest hid. But she was searching for something that did not belong in the forest and soon she found it....a powerful magic..no two magics...three and then an abscence of magic...a chaos and confusion in the peaceful forest.

"They are this way," She said as she looked at Garret again, her smile no longer there,"All of them are together...Cristian, Adriana, Lokken and Ether."

She tried to tell herself to go the way she knew they were but she was not too sure right now. She needed one favor from Garret first.

"Garret, I have a favor to ask you. I dont know how I will act around Lokken and Ether. I have lost my honor but I need to still act as if I had not. I need your support and I need you to keep me in check should I begin to say or do anything that is not hororable."

"Right now we have to get this menace taken care of. Only then will the elves and all other races be safe. I need you to make sure that I remember that goal."

As soon as Isolde and Garret walked in, Lokken fell upon his knee. "Isolde, I am so very, very, sorry. What you had witnessed was a brief state of madness. Can you ever forgive me?" asked Lokken, looking down at the ground.

Garret nodded at her lovely words. He was supposed to...
wait a minute. He thought about it again carefuly, he was supposed to make sure she didn't blow her top right?
Make sure she was honorable, yes, thats how she put it. He wasn't sure how a person went about keeping a promise like that, but he would try his darnest.
They walked into a clearing, as everyone else had arrived.
They were all here finally, together. Although, Garret didn't know any of them, except for the names of a few, and Isolde of course. She was such an angel, helping him go through all of this.
The big intimidating warrior apologized to her. Garret leaned over and whispered for her to be honorable. He hoped thats what she meant, if not he had failed miserably.

Isolde

Isolde looked down at Lokken. Many emotions shot through her and she had to fight to keep them from coming to the surface. The feelings were too new and too raw for her to deal with right now. She was fighting the wave of emotions-anger, fear, loss, sorrow, when Garret leaned over and whispered into her ear.

Smiling at him, she nodded. Just having him near helped her to keep her resolve. She did not know if she could find forgiveness in her heart as yet-she had not had time to deal with the situation but she could salvage honor from it.

Stepping close to Garret, she found that his presence lent her streangth and she was able to say,"Lokken....We have more important things to work on right now. You are not my enemy but you and Ether must put a hold on your feud lest it put an end to our mission."

Turning to Cristian, she said,"We must leave the area before sunrise and we have many men to move. I suggest we get a move on it."

And then to Lokken. "If Garret does not want to accept the position of general I ask that he be placed with me. I value his opinion and his insights."

Cristian looked at Isolde, "I would teleport them to another spot away from the village but I doubt if I can do it and I don't want Lokken opening up another portal. Sorry Lokken but Garath will be looking for it and then wait for you to open a new one and have an army waiting for us."

Cristian then turned to Lokken and said, "I would like Adriana to join me in my army. She can give me some guidance and tell me not to rush into things and I also have to teach her to use her powers to the fullest."

"Anything my generals want, they get", said Lokken, seriously. "My feud with Ether never started, but it was more like his feud with me", said Lokken. He then rose and walked them towards their brigades. "Isolde, I will have to ask you to pick a brigade of your choice: Paladin, Death Knight, Dragon, Mercenary, SSSlik, or mage? As for Christian and Adrianna, the 225th is right there", said Lokken, pointing to a great group of demons, and all of them outfitted with gold, symbolizing that they were also part of Lokken's elite gaurd.

Cristian

Cristian looked at the brigade with wide eyes and thought that any time before this night he would have refused out right to be in charge of demons but he turned to Lokken and said, "I will be honored to lead them."

He then turned to Adriana and said, "Let us go and meet our new army... this will be interesting."

Isolde

"The mages will do fine," Isolde said,"With my penchant for magic and the promise Garret brings in that area, I think we will have the best luck there."

Turning to Garret, she said,"What is your choice? Do you wish to lead yourself or would you do me the honor of leading by my side?"

Adriana

Adriana's eyes opened wide. Interesting is not exactly the word that came to mind. Scary and unnerving were on the tip of her tongue but she knew that she would be safe as long as Cristian was there.

Nodding to him, she said,"Lead the way, General." She could not help a giggle escape and hoped he would not take offense at it.
