I prefer the way of the Dao.
Buddism is based on self study to achieve personal enlightenment and elevation to the higher planes. This is done through a cycle of suffering and rebirth.
Daoism is the aligning of oneself with the universe to free the self from society and align it with nature.
Both are very close in ideology and practice but Daoism doesn't require the suffering and rebirth bits necessary in Buddism. Even so both are slowly being merged, along with Taoism, into a religious pantheon which uses the best parts of both.
This works for me because Mr. MorningStar is all about being a force of Nature. My only suggestion is that you take extreme care to not end up sitting next to the volcano.
I’ve never worked very hard to draw distinctions between the two. I, too, am inclined to agree that picking the best parts from all tends to simplify things. Along in the short seems to be the cultivation of humility, such that we don’t take ourselves too damn seriously or get consumed with thinking that we are all that in a sack of chips. One can learn that if one is observant by watching libturds rattle on about how important what they’re rattling on about is, and the truth is, at the end of the day, no one could care less, as it simply is not possible. We have many notable examples.
I also think it’s nice to get out there and help somebody as a regular way of doing business. The thing I like to do most of all is to do something for someone else and make it a point not to tell anyone about it. That way, my “good deed “is between me, the recipient, and the universe. Among. The deed is among us.
