OOC: Crazy-ass shit you probably never intended to exist.
But lets go with the basics:
1-A fountain of rather rank chocolate pudding has reappeared on campus (displacing a few students in timespace).
2-A fellow student was turned into a cabbage. (I no longer have this ability, as I didn't want to overuse it.)
3-A small chunk of sidewalk and grass has been turned unpside down, leaving dirt and rubble. (Sadly, The Professor of TimeSpace Displacement Phenomena perish during this change, so the displaced students will have to deal with it for a while)
4-Another giant rat (this time a mutant giant rats with extra limbs) arrived and was dealt with. We still have no clue what's going on.
5-We're off to Ari's place to portal jump to her spaceship or whatever, where Hy's char will rest, and Hellion will try his damnedest to get in Ari's pants.
OOC: sounds good to me. Lets see what I can do before I leave again on sunday.
IC: I rolled over in bed, I then glanced over at the clock a spark flew out from where I placed my sword. I then closed my eyes and prepared to go back to sleep. I then herd a strange sound and noticed the clock began to reconstruct itself. "damn Nano tech, it takes forever for it to kick in."
I pulled my sword out and walked over the restrooms, jsut a ways down the hall. "Man do I have to go, how long was I asleep."
"Yeah yeah, we're going," I said, matching the pace Jamie set. Odd how I was calling him Jamie now instead of "Zero." Oh well... things were nuts here anyway. And "Zero" is not the nicest of names, I think.
I uncoaded my door from a distance and the door flew open to both the dorms and my room as we entered. Slamming it shut behind us, I leaned against the door, my right hand shaking slightly.
Cursing, I forced the reaction back down and kept going. This room was not impenetrable and there were weapons to be recharged.
"Hellion- listen at the door for any company. This is going to take a bit."
I pulled an odd roll of material out from my bed while shooing Jamie into a chair. "You sit till I'm ready. There's a mini fridge behind you if you want anything."
Leaving the boys to thier devices, I activated my WC in full mode and took a deep breath before unfurling the jump pad. It was one of my Master's creations that he'd made me power/learn to use as a kid. But I knew I was out of practice, having not used it since I jumped from my homeworld back to the Layla[ my star cruiser.
Powering up monitors both here and on the Layla[ I set a pillow from my bed on the jump pad. I knelt on the edge, my hands finding the special interface latches. I released the flood gates that held my power in with a sigh.
Sparks flooded down my arms into the pad, powering it up. The thing chirped musically at me for a moment before settling into a smooth hum.
I analyzed the vectors and distances between me and the Layla[ for a moment then launched the pillow on its way up. It landed fluffily in my living quarters on the ship.
I smiled in relief- I still had it and it was still well aimed.
"Jamie- you next," I said not looking at him, keeping the destination in my mind's eye. "Once you get there, roll of the bed and take a seat- I'll send Hellion through next and then come myself."
James held the door. Which was a lot like leaning against it and breathing deep while checking his weapons. Of course, had anyone pointed that out, Hellion would tell them they were acting crazy and of course he was watching the door.
Then he might have turned around to do it. Instead, he was focused on watching Ari work. 'Whoa,' he thought, 'Bed? This could become very interest-What's that sound?'
As soon as Jamie sat down, he pulled out his gloves and opened a secret patch. There, layed two golden circular things. "Huh... the baterys... They're burnt... No wonder I'm so tired. I've been using up my extra energy faster than I thought... I'm just lucky I haven't used so much I get that retched headache."
Jamie pulled out two extra baterys, and carefully replaced them with the burnt ones. 'These gloves use my esp powers as well as these to make a plasma ball. I'll have to be careful for the time being, I only have enough power for an evil eye, and I may just need that.'
'Jamie- you next,' Ari said not looking at him, "once you get there, roll off the bed and take a seat- I'll send Hellion through next and then come myself.'
'Bed? Huh... Whatever.' Jamie stood up and walked over to- whatever it was Ari wanted him to stand on. Just then he heard an odd sound comming from behind the door. 'What was that?' For a few seconds, Jamie glared at the door, then shook his head. "Mind must be playing tricks on me." 'No... If that was true, then Hellion wouldn't be puting his ears on the door... Maybe its nothing but a student passing by... Lets hope thats all it is.'
Gathering my power around me, I forced it again into the jump pad, upping the volume for a larger mass to be transported. I linked with the ship and launched Jamie, grunting in effort.
I checked the ship monitor- he'd landed okay, a bit dazzed but okay. Those odd gloves of his flashed- I'd have to ask him about them later. I nodded when Jamie rolled off the bed and flashed a thumbs up to the camera.
Wiping sweat from my forhead, I called to Hellion. "Oy, Hellion-kun, you're turn. Same thing- roll of the bed. I'm dropping you on it so you don't get hurt from the landing."
Hellion left the door, which was starting to bow in on itself and stood on the pad.
I winked at him before sending him on his way.
I shifted, putting myself on the jump pad now, sweat pouring off of my body, sparks following it. The door shattered inward as I made the final surge of power and jumped myself and the pad. Unfortunalty, I managed to bring a few chunks of the door, one of which was now sticking out of my left shoulder. The pad, wood scraps and I landed on the bed with a thud.
I shook my head to clear it, voicing commands to the ships computer.
"Amri- its me, code Alpha, Sierra, echo niner, tango. All securities stand down!"
"Standing down," The ships AI chirped at me happily. "Orders?"
"Raise all shields," I said.
"Raising shields."
I looked at Hellion. "Make yourselves at home."
I opened the door from my room, breathing deeply. I'd missed this ship, I realized. Missed all of my familiar things, the wirings, even though I'd only been gone a few days.
"Jamie- there's another bunk in here,' I said, opening a door. It was a small room with another bed in it, a single size. "Sorry its small, space is at a premium."
I swayed on my feet for a moment, catching the wall. No, Ari, a bit longer then you can get cleaned up and rest.
"Sorry bout that. I'm okay," I said then showed them the galley, food synthesizer and the public bathroom. It wasn't until then that I realized I had blood trickling down my arm and saw the wood splinter.
I left the boys in the kitchens and headed back to my room, leaving the door unlocked. I knew I'd left a trail of blood behind me, didn't care. Was too tired to clean it up. Damn living jumps on the jump pad took too much out of me, I cursed as I tried to pull the sliver of wood, about the length of my hand, out of its new "home" half way through the flesh of my arm.
Hellion was a little dizzy. He followed Ari to what he assumed was a galley. He thought she was going to get them something to eat, and leaned against a wall, gathering himself. Once that was done, he got up, and she was gone.
He looked around, and noticed blood on the floor, following it, it led back to the room they'd came in. Ari was there, and he saw she was wounded.
I sighed- careless of me to let him know I'd been hurt but still... I did need help getting it out.
"The door shattered in as I made my jump," I said, sitting down heavily on a chair next to my desk. The oil-absorbing coating on the desk was soft as I laid right arm on it, forehead resting on it. "Couldn't move and make the jump so I took the shard... didn't think it was that bad though. Didn't notice it at first, not till we were in the galley."
I sat up and reached for it but couldn't pull it out. "Hellion- I need you to pull it out for me," I said, opening the drawer and pulling out a first aid kit. I laid a bandage on the table after taking off the backing. "Slap that on once its off- it'll clean it and keep it from getting infected. Also stop the bleeding. Nifty little thing, these bandages."
I knew I was babbling- like being awake at 4 am after getting up the previous day at 5 am and working till then. Too tired to sleep yet, too dirty to sleep, but still exhausted. Damn jump pad took too much energy to run some days....
He smiled, and walked over. He looked at the wound, a look of concern on his face. Then he smiled at her, leaned over, and pressed his lips tight to hers as he grabbed another of the shard and yanked it rudely out of the wound.
He broke the kiss, a sheepish smile on his face as he put the bandage on. "Sorry about that. But those things tend to hurt more coming out, especially if you know its about to happen..."
I sputtered for a moment, eyes wide as I looked up at him. I looked at my arm, the bandage on it, then back at him.
Shaking my head, I laughed then looked at him again. I forced myself onto my feet.
"Thank you," I said, leaning into him. "You know... you have very pretty eyes, Hellion."
My magic sparked gently around me as I kissed him again, my lips meeting his gently. Unfortunatly, a wave of exhaustion washed over me. I regretfully pulled away from him.
"I'm sorry... but I- I need to sleep or my body's going to saw screw you and quit," I explained, laying my head on his shoulder. "Would you... um... would you hold me while I fall asleep? If you don't mind?"
"Crazy? This? Nah," I said, pulling away from him and grabbing a tshirt, shorts and unmentionables from my dresser. "I'm going to clean up, I'll be right back."
I stepped through the psionic shower, feeling clean finely and changed cloths, leaving the dirty ones in a hamper in my private bathroom. The tshirt took a bit to get on with the injured arm but I managed. I slipped into clean panties and the shorts and joined Hellion in my room. It was strange seeing a guy sitting in my room like that, felt good, but was still a bit ackward.
So I plunged ahead, determained to at least act confident even if I didn't exactly feel it. "So, which side of the bed do you want?"
I sank down onto the bed, sighing in happiness to have my anti-grav bed back, if only for a little while.
Hellion amused himself by staring at the wall while she was away. When she returned, he stood up, and smiled at her. She asked which side of the bed her wanted, and he laughed.
"Well, you might want to put me on whichever side is downwind."
He grinned, and went over, testing the anti-gravity bed. "Good Lord, but technology is strange."
I laughed. "Yeah, its a bit odd at first, but its the best thing to sleep on. Auto adjusts to... oh yeah, auto adjusts to what your body needs to sleep well."
I was stumbling over words- time to sleep or the whole ship would pick up on it. Sad thing when your AI starts singing nursery rhymes cause its gone as stupid as you have.
I used what I had left to put a barrier between me and the ships' computers before taking the side of the bed against the wall.
"Come on, lay down," I said with a giggle when he hesitated.
After a few odd attempts of arranging arms, legs, etc we were settled comfortably, me on my right side with him holding me from behind.
Before I drifted to sleep, I managed to whisper, "The ship will keep its geosynchronous course till I tell it otherwise. Its stealthed and sheilded so only Master can find it. Oh- and if I start getting glowy, don't worry. Just my power recharging."
With that, sleep claimed me, and I let it, feeling safe in Hellion's arms.
Jamie sat down on a chair in the kitchen, he felxed his now gloved hand a few times. It sparked quite a few times, meaning that he was starting to recover a bit. "Phew! That was a close call. I have to be alot more careful now. This is the only set of baterys I have left!"
Jamie laughed at himself. "Me? Worried about my health? Gee, haven't done that since I was... 8." The young assassin stood up and walked over to a what looked like a food dispenser. "I wonder... Can this thing make a triple delux cheeseburger?"
Jamie looked at all sides of the thing, at the same time, he was figuring out how to use it. "Huh... I'm guessing if I press this... Then push this, and..." Jamie heard something drop out. He looked around to the front, and saw exactly what he wanted, with fries and a cola. "Bingo! I suppose I can't make a frosty... can it? Nah!" Jamie picked up the tray and walked back to the table, and with amazing speed, he ate the food in less than 4 minutes. (Anybodie who ate the food at I.O.U would have eaten it just as fast, maybe even faster!)
Jamie looked at the now empty tray and cartons. "Hmm... They look... dispensible! Guess I can just put it in the trash." Jamie got up and placed the stuff into the nearest trash bin, and walked out of the room to his room. He opened the door and looked at it for a few seconds. Ari said it was small, "she hasn't ever been an assassin before..." Jamie shuddered at his memorys, remembering one time he had to stay in an capsule that only gave him two inches of moving space, for at least two days, he lost count of time after 46 hours.
Jamie sighed and closed the door behind him, puting down the backpack he unoticingly had on his back. The heat of battle and near complete exhaustion did that to a person. He sat down, and looked at the wall for a bit, just thinking about what happened in a matter of two days. "Two giant rats, an teachers aid, 3 near death experiances... and..."
Jamie bent over and clutched his head. "Here it comes..." Jamie prepaired for the thing he hated the most. A light milky-white like lavender smoke emited from his shoulders and up. "Ghhhhugh..." Jamie started to rock back and forth, trying to do anything to ease the massive headache. "I really, fucking hate this shit!"
Jamie began to tighten his clutch on his head, putting more presure on it, slightly easing the pain. "Damn... damn, damn, damn! Just stop!" But it didn't, in fact, it increased more and more, so much that every thing he saw became a odd, off-wall crimson color. Then, all of a sudden, it stoped.
"Haaaaa... Its... over? Already?" Jamie looked around, something seemed odd to him. "Why is the room all wobbly?" Then something tottaly unexpected happened. The room began to twirl around, spinning faster and faster by the second, even though he wasn't standing. 'this is almost as bad as the headache!' Jamie couldn't take it much longer, he curled up into a ball position, placed his arm on his knees, and his head on his arms. He shut his eyes and did his best to ignore the spinning feeling. The feeling became more rapid, and Jamie let unconsiouness overtake him.
Hellion was asleep while Ari was still whispering. He slept soundly, quietly, unmoving. Unlike most creatures, Hellion's species did not dream. It meant that no matter not bad your life was, at least you'd never have a nightmare.
It wasn;t much, but it would seem their creator had a little mercy for the decent ones when he created them. His arms wrapped around her kept her held close to him while they slept.
I came to with a mental start, though I didn't move. My eyes flew open and it took me a moment to realize I was back on ship and... oh dear. There was an arm around my waist! Another moment and it all came flooding back to me, the day before.
Sighing happily, I snuggled back into Hellion, cozy and warm. I rolled onto my back, still tucked against him. Experimentally, I ran an arch of electricity from fingertip to fingertip. It was a dim arch, a sign my power reserves were still low. A grumble from my stomach let me know it was running on empty too.
I kissed Hellion's forehead and disentangled myself, rolling off the foot of the bed and onto the floor with practiced ease. I stretched going up on my toes with it, working a small kink from my back. After a fond glance at the bed, I padded silently into the kitchen, thankful for the warming floor tiles I'd installed a few trips back.
A few moments later I sat at the table, a plate bearing frech toast and another bearing a large med-rare steak and a glass of fruit juice in front of me. I thanked who ever was watching over me for my life and my food then dug in. After yesterday- someone had to be watching over at least one of the three of us, I mused as I ate. The kitchen clock declaried it to be about four AM, but then I'd gone to sleep in the afternoon- wow, over 12 hour sleep. No wonder I was hungry.
Hellion awoke rudely, turning in such a manner that he ended up ina very uncomfortable position with his wings. Clumsilly, he managed to disengage himself from the anti-grav bed, wondering where he was idlely. After a minute of getting his feet back under him, he glanced around.
Well, wherever ARi was, she wasn't here. As always in the mornings, Hellion's belly told him to consume mass quantities of food. Wandering out of Ari's room, he came across her in the galley.
"Food! Okay, where do I get some of that? But more. Much more."
IC: I moved my way back from the restrooms to my room. I smiled in my mind I had a picture of a t-shirt I once saw. "How dedicated are you to rock? Are you ready to get out of bed at the crack of noon to rock?" Man I love that shirt.
I opened the door to my room and saw my home work siting on the desk. Well I should do the home work but I did extra credit last night, or was it a couple of days ago? And I really jsut want to sleep. I went back to bed and laid down quickly falling back to sleep.
Jamie slowly lifted his head. He looked as pale as scratched up blocks of ice. He knew that the pain had stoped, and he knew that the dizzyness has haulted, yet his body was still in pain. Without any warning from his mind, Jamie stood up and trudged out of the room. He ignored every thing, including Ari and Hellion, and headed straight torwards the bathroom, shuting it behind him.
Without any thought, he headed straight for the sink. Jamie filled it water with freezing cold water. He taken an deep breath, and plunged his head into the small puddle, then screemedas lound as he could, letting the water muffle his screems of pain.
Jamie pulled his head out, the water drenching him, yet he was still in agony. He cloutched his right side and fell to his knees. "Wh-whats going on?!"
I laughed at Hellion and smiled. "You just tell the synthesizer what you want and it'll spit it out. Easy as pie."
I finished my food, tummy full at last when I felt an echo through the hull. I looked toward the guest bathroom and got up.
"No, you eat," I told Hellion with a smile. "I just want to see if he's okay."
I knocked on the door... waited a polite moment and then listened. That didn't sound like a normal bathroom noise to me!
"Amri! Override the door lock," I called out and the AI chirped as the door clicked. "Scan bathroom- is occupant clothed?"
"Yes, occupant has pants on."
"Thanks, Amri," I said, opening the door. Jamie was on his knees, paler then newly fallen snow and almost as cold. "Jamie! What happened! I know you're not okay."
I hesitated to touch him, knowing my magical control was worse when I was in pain- perhaps his was too.
Hellion didn't bother thinking, but started naming foods right away. After a moment of smiling, he began scarfing things down, taking Ari's absence to devour food at what was considered a 'rude' speed.
He smiled when he was done, and looked at the synthesizer. "A bottle of IBC root beer?"
It appeared. Hellion stared in awe at the synthesizer for a moment, and then began calling for more and more of them, chugging them down like a fiend.
"Boss- minor problem," Amri chirped at me as I knelt next to Jamie.
"Damn it, what now? OK- what is it Amri-chan?"
"I'm running out of (insert chemical names here). Too much rootbeer. Can't make much more. And glass. Its not in my recycler so I can't reproduce it."
I sighed and hung my head for a moment. "Tell him I'll shock his tail feathers off if he doesn't give it a rest."
I heard my own voice relay from the kitchen, "TELL HIM I'LL SHOCK HIS TAILFEATHERS OFF IF HE DOESN'T GIVE IT A REST!" then Armi saying, "I think she means you. I can't make much more ya know. Damn draconians...."
"This is not Anime," I told the AI to no avail. Damn thing watched way too much.
I turned back to Jamie. "Jamie- you awake in there? You hurt more then we thought yesterday?"
Hellion glared at the computer, and finished drinking the one he had. He felt full. He cleaned up after him, but sat, staring at the synthesizer, licking his lips. His leg began to shake as he stared intently at it, feeling the acute need,...
So cool, so refreshing, so delicious,...
He glanced at the ceiling. "Draconian? I'm a Demon, thank you."
