Want...

And it's almost the tartan I want too.

*whines*

it's almost Royal Stewart. Pretty damn close really.

close enough that it takes a good eye to tell that it's not. :)

but that's the difference between buying plaid and buying tartan. *shrug*

btw....what size are you dear? ;)

Ever had Walker's Short Bread (crack, in the form of buttery cookie goodness)? That's the plaid I see in my dreams. It's a sept off of MacGregor. I'm not registered with my clan or sept though, so it's not like it matters as to what I wear.

Size as in waist? Erm, not sure. I'll grab a tape measure and see. I buy all sorts of different sizes in trousers becuase my thighs are huge from all the lifting, and I'm twitchy about not having tight pant legs. Which, of course, is another reason why I like kilts =)

I know what you're talking about....not terribly hard to find in plaid.

I've got a pic of myself in a fairly nice kilt, but it's a fat-guy pic. Booo. One of my best friends was getting married and asked me to be the Best Man. As it was a Scottish themed wedding, I got to wear a kilt instead of a tux. It was brilliant. The best part, in my eyes, was that his wife bought him the truly gorgeous Irish-hilted Claidmorh from Museum Replics.

I was intensely jealous, as I  that sword with a passion. It's the only commercially produced Claidmorh I've handled that has a basket large enough for my mitts. Very sweet sword. MRL and Windlass did a great job with that one. Their standard basket-hilt is teensy for me, as is their Schiavona. I can barely get my hand inside the basket =P

Ah, why not? Fat guy in kilt

You're making me twitch, woman. Stop teasing me.

KILT!

*purr* :cathappy:

oh, and just to tease you a bit more....wenchie used to play with that same sword you're talking about. The shop that sold my costumes carried a lot of blades from MRL. ;)

I won't claim to understand the first part of your post (not my area of experise), but the pic???.....now that I find incredibly sexy!! I happen to like larger men......makes me feel smaller (which I like, of course!) and feel safe and protected. You look awesome in your kilt!!! Now you need to take a pic of yourself in a kilt with your NEW body!
:p

Oddly enough, aside from a Qama I own, that claidmorh, and a few of their zwei-handers, the vast majority of MRL's sword are too small for me, or just are not interesting. They've a few hammers, axes, and maces that I dig though. Then again, I'm a mass-weapon kinda guy.

And I doubt that anyone would be surprised to hear that I'm a fan of blunt-force trauma...

Claidmorh is Gaelic for "Fookin 'uge sword". And, yeah, I would like a pic of me in a kilt sans gut and fat head =P

I'd need to lose about 20# more to be rid of the gut fully though, boo. I weighed in at 266# this morning (at 5'11"). I've gained 7# in the past 3 weeks or so, and it isn't muscle. Not happy. My diet has sucked, and I've not been doing anywhere near enough lifting and biking.

Bad Homburg!

(And thank you for the compliment  )

*giggles* most are too long for me to be able to drawl.

besides, I pretty much stick to a bodice dagger and that's about it.

I do a passable cheesy Scottish accent.

My wife has the scissors/dagger that Windlass made a number of years back as a bodice dagger. Bloody cool bit of kit, it is.

It really is just terribly pretty, and cuts fabric surprisingly well. I figured it would just be decorative. Nah, it scissors! The handle is a bit less than comfortable for scissoring though. Who cares when it is as cool a piece as it is =)

I thought it would be totally kick ass for the days I sat in the shop. and there's usually something for the sewing wench to fix, so....yeah....I want it BAD!!!

I'll see if I can dig it out and use it as a prop in a photo shoot or something. It's certainly decorative enough.

That's it! if you do that, then I'll....I'll....

Oh no! Don't make a kilt in my size? That would be horrible! Terrible! Don't throw me in the briar patch!

Think about it. If you make a kilt in my size, I'm pretty much guaranteed to have to drive to Ohio and just beat it out of you. Do you really want that?

It's Oct 29th, and I've almost made it! :nana:

tho being sick the past couple weeks prolly has helped things a bit, but I haven't bought any material, other than what I needed for special orders. Even made it thru the columbus day blow outs!

Just a few more days, and then I can pick up a few cool after halloween sales, and start on some christmas gifts. :cathappy:
