I appreciate your comments. I married a woman that went through a bad rape, I didn't have a problem with it. She couldn't get past it and 18 years later, divorced. Thank you for posting as not all surprises are good.Not as bad as during my freshman year of college, I was out for the evening with my new best friend, lisa ( okay more later on the ups and downs of having an opposite sex best friend) and her boyfriend and my friend's roommate. I was getting along famously with the roommate , we were laughing rather "touchy feely" in the east back to my dorm room. Upon arriving, I decided disposing of excess beer in advance of amorous activities was in order. When I returned, her head was in her hands, sobbing. She "couldn't go any farther" and left for her room. I was left with a "I thought things were going great" feeling of confusion.
I found out later, she had been the victim of abuse at the hands of her father... tragic and sad, but you can understand my confusion.
Lesson learned: not everything is as it might appear.
