What are we all writing right now?

I just finished a free verse (posted in the poetry forum - 2025 holiday poetry) in honor of today - national ugly Christmas sweater day.

Halfway through the negative stuff. Once that's done, I have the insincere apology to write. Then I'm gonna sit on it until I figure out how to divide this up, because right now I expect to have a single 30,000 word chapter and a 12,000 word chapter, and I don't love that.
Still exactly here. I've figured out a better way to divide the story into chapters, which fortunately/unfortunately has caused the introduction of a scene where our heroine fucks the drug lady for drugs, loses her shirt in a space-poker game, has super unsatisfying p-in-v sex with a super unsatisfying dick and takes her frustrations out on herself with her fingers (or a toy, if I can find one laying around). So I guess that's what I'm writing tonight. That plus some minor revisions will let me close the chapter. Then I can finish the negative stuff with a bit of sex that hopefully threads the line between uplifting and exploitative, and that plus minor revisions lets me close chapter 2. The apology, once I get it done, will let me close chapter 3. That'll bring this project to ~50k words, I think, but I'll be at a stopping point and able to switch gears to a Valentine's Day story.

Then, before I know it, it'll be time for Nude Day and Summer Lovin', both of which I have bunnies for and need to start before the bunny hops away.

I'm working on a BNWO story about a black woman going to work for a wealthy white family as a housemaid/personal educator for their teenage children, who are adults with a boy and a girl twin who are 18, and an adopted biracial daughter who is 19. She systematically takes control of the family. It's called The Walls Come Tumbling Down, and the family name is Jericho. See what I did there, it's biblical, right?

Finished episode 8 of 'Adam at Large' this morning. Now working on episode 9, 😲 I know, which hopefully will be finished before the end of the year. I may add to the series later, but that will be it for now.

Then it is on to a new series, of which I already have two episodes written, with another five planned.

Finishing up a nine-novella series and feeling pretty gutted about it while equally as glad I will never have to write a ten-person MFF+ orgy scene ever again. Maybe. Probably.

I think the minor revisions are going to be more extensive than expected, but the plan tonight is to knock those out, then get started on the negative stuff. Last night was quite productive because my newborn slept for quite a while; if tonight is like most nights I'll only get about two hours of writing time.

I have finished one 750-Word event entry and started another. I'm typed -30- on my entry for the Pink Orchid event and am awaiting judgement from somebody far wiser than I. I spent much of today working on the final sex scene on my April Fool's tale, maybe 650-700 words done. That's more productive than I've been in months. 😁

Posted this on the wrong thread initially:

I’ve been taking a brief writing break. But am now at the very beginning of a new story.

It’s a slight departure for me. It will be in Lesbian (that’s not the departure) but a sort of dramedy / homage / satire. The working title is ‘A Study In Harlot’ and it will feature consulting detective Augustine Maison and her girlfriend Doctor Johanna Wyson who live together at 32C Hooker Street, London.

Of course it may implode under the weight of its own satire. But we will see.

I have a 1940s Harlem Jazz free verse currently pending waiting to be posted. It is a companion piece to my 1960s free verse My Tribute to The Beat Generation. Currently I am working on a 1950s free verse piece based on Hemingway's A Movable Feast.

I think orgies are the hardest things to write.
With my VD draft, I’m just about getting to the group sex scene, but it’s gonna be just two couples who do a swap later. I don’t think it should be difficult logistically, but I’m not sure it even qualifies as a “proper” orgy.

I think the challenge comes if you try to write the scene from multiple POVs. So far, the ones that I have written have focused on the experience of a single MC, their own experience and the activity that they see around them.

Back on my bullshit. Revisions done, negative stuff started. Got a too-impaired-to-be-precisely-consensual sex scene to write, today or tomorrow, then some more very bad decisions, then a big dramatic speech moment. Then I can close the content-book on chapter 2.

I'm still writing my probably-200,000-word series, but that will take a while to finish. To get a hit of that sweet, sweet dopamine from finishing a story, I dashed off a 2100-worder based on a forum post. Took literally less than 2 hours to write, and I kind of like it. Very different from other stuff I've done here.

Now to see if my proofreader is available.

I was writing a teenage (18+) sex for tutoring story, with a twist, when I got another comment on one of my stories complaining that it was a male teenage fantasy and improbable. I replied with a definition of fairy tale that I think applies to many of my stories, but suddenly I was inspired to write an actual fairy tale. So, I switched to gender-bending a Grimm Brothers classic. It strays well away from the original story, but I don't think anybody will have a problem recognizing the original tale I used for the groundwork.

Then, yesterday, I was saying some not-so-kind words about certain so-called AIs when the thought of a modern version of SkyNet came to mind. So, I punched out a fun little 750 word story that I will put in Humor & Satire come February. That brings me up to seven that I have queued up for the project.

Now, I'm back to trying to write seven consecutive sex scenes that are fair and somewhat consistent for each of his partners, without being repetitive. (Yes, it's that fairy tale, but you won't find any hairy dwarfs in it.) Three down, four to go currently.

Was having a conversation with @SamanthaBehgs about how best to describe characters, and I'm trying a really dumb framing device, where the FMC (in the story) reads a passage from a book where the FMC (of the book) describes how the MMC (of the book) looks, because it's how the FMC (in the story) thinks the MMC (in the story) looks too, at least superficially. The MMC (in the story) makes fun of how over-the-top the author of the book describes the MMC (of the book). It's fun to write, but it's a challenge to switch sentence to sentence from 1P present to 1P past when going from quoting the fake book to the characters offering commentary on it. It's also a nice change from having a non-described male character or shoehorning in a mirror scene or doing a bunch of indirect description.

Bro what? Lol. I got it, but it took a few reads.

Also thanks for pointing out the non-described MMC thing. I struggle with that, so much that it's been an insecurity for TWO of my MMCs. For both of them, I settled on the FMC reassuring them about said fear and leaving it at that. Yet there was still no physical description. Bleh. I really like this idea. Wish it wasn't so specific so I could co-opt it.

Got the negative stuff done, but it ran longer than expected as it always does. Thought I'd have ~200 words to write, then the sex; turned into 2000 and the sex hasn't started. But the follow-up bad decisions should go quick, and the big dramatic speech moment has a theme that's developed organically, I think, out of what I wrote this evening. Sssssssssso hopefully the content of this chapter can be closed tomorrow, and I can move to the third chapter, or work on the V-Day entry, or the Summer Lovin' entry or outline the Nude Day entry or maybe an Oggbashan entry that'd be a prequel to a different series. Too many things to write and too few hours when I'm not caring for a newborn in which to write them!

I have about 7700 words done on my current WIP, The Melody In My Heart. A romance told from the MMC's viewpoint, the story is the passion that develops between him and the title character, Melody. I hope to finish before the new year. Took a break to outline another story I'm thinking of writing in January.

Christmas morning, I finished the sex scene of the draft of my new year's eve group sex story. Finished the ending this morning, now going through the first pass editing. If I can avoid purgatory, it should be up by NYE.
