What are you fuckers reading now?

Richard Osman's books back to back, Thursday Murder Club and The Man Who Died Twice. Both wonderfully written, had me laughing out loud endlessly and having quiet wee moments and a wee tear now and then.

Highly recommended for a bit of escapism, read each in a day, def not a chore.

Also 2/3 of the way through The Sandman being re-read for the umpteenth time.

Have Confess by Rob Halford on the side to get to but I keep getting distracted by other recommendations.

Just checked a cupboard and realised I've been buying books without realising and have a stack now been ignored.

Sleeping Beauties by Stephen and Owen King
The Traveller and The Dark River by John Twelve Hawks (I remember buying them at different times from charity shops and putting off reading them till I get the 3rd book in the trilogy)
Billy Connolly by Pamela Stephenson
Rob Lowe and Rob Halfords autobiographies..

When I used to commute for work I'd read a book or 2 a week, working from home the last year or so its something that's been neglected

Just finished

After the Revolution
By: Robert Evans

Amazing book highly recommend

I read those dumb Jack Reacher books on airplanes.

Need to find something else. He’s always beating people up. Dude needs to get laid more.

Phew.... well I started reading Handmaid's Tale and got as far as her new introduction and the first chapter. I decided we're already living in her dystopian world and to read further would send me looking for a high building. Nopes, thanks.
Instead I've ordered Talking Women by Miriam Toews, the soon to be a fillum novel which might prove to be just as depressing

Waited months for Hayder's The Book of Sand. So far, meh. I'll stick with it, though, and see if it gets any better. 🤷🏾‍♀️
Turns out she did three more rough drafts for the series. Wonder who, if anyone, they get to finish writing them?

I enjoyed The Blind Assassin more than Handmaid's Tale.

That’s why I prefer smut.

I feared it would be shite. Bloody shame though.

The Wild Oats Project (once again) by Robin Rinaldi.

Imagine all you wanted was a child with your husband. What if he went and got a vasectomy?

That’s why she started The Wild Oats Project.

This is a cautionary tale.

That happened to a friend of mine. She wanted kids, and was clear about it when they were dating. After marriage, they tried and tried and she didn't get pregnant and she made an appointment with a fertility clinic and finally in the car on the way there he confessed that he'd been snipped. Bastard.

Assembling a Black Counter Culture by DeForrest Brown Jr
The Hour of the Star by Clarice Lispector

The Kaiju Preservation Society

by John Scalzi. A fun summer read about the freelance economy, COVID isolation and giant monsters.

Oh my gosh, that’s awful!

The Cat Who Saved Books by Sosuke Natsukawa (Translated from the Japanese by Louise Heal Kawai)

I had an urge for some Pratchett last night so dug out Witches Abroad. It's still utter fucking genius.

The Arrangement by Sarah Dunn.

It’s actually making me smile. Their rules are cute.
