What Are You Thinking? Continued 14

I only use it for a few months out of the year. The sun just peeks through my windows when the days are long and I wake up earlier than I should.
I have oily skin so even just a few nights helped clog my pores enough that it broke me out, which sucked because I was using it for the same reason.

I've got the opposite problem. My skin is naturally really dry and I have to lotion up all the time. Though that's also partially living in a dry environment. But even then my skin is drier than most people I know.

I'd rather have the drier skin. It’s horrible on my skin in the summer with humidity too. So I just gave up trying to use sleep masks.

Blackout curtains!
(Those sleep masks are great for travel, but could quickly get annoying with everyday use)

Blackout curtains and a moisturizer with salicylic acid!

Ey, I quite like that about Germany. The efficiency and rock solid quality. 😁

And, as it does not get really dark at night for many months, I could use that darkness!! šŸ˜†
I'm more north than you, and have even more light nights. I have no idea where my blackout curtains are from, though... I just know that dim-out is not enough, it needs to be black-out. And any crack between the curtains count.

Ooh yes!!! Your nights must be so light by now!!

Every crack counts, those I have are from IKEA, and oddly enough - they do not block the light that well! 🤨

I think that Ikea doesn't even promise full blockage. I've looked at them sometimes, and decided to pass.

Mine have a rubbery layer at the back. I had to wash them in hot water after moving (because my previous house was not fresh...) and couldn't dry them straight without folding... Well the rubber stuck to itself! So now I have a few points without rubber, and it shows. (Luckily those are below the window, so it doesn't matter too much.)

Oh!! Good thing it is below the window, but what a difficult job, to wash and dry them.

Must have taken up so much space!

Yeah, I was just checking up on those I have from IKEA. You are right, they do not promise full blockage.

I really need to find some better!

Check Jysk, they have different grades of blockage I think.

And yes, they aren't supposed to washed at 60°C but 30... Just 30 isn't enough to get the "old house smell" away. And no tumbling, only air drying. My drying rack is about 70cm wide, should have tried if outdoor lines are safe enough here. (We have them in the apartment complex, I just normally never use them.)

Surely it can’t get any wetter?

Unexpected downpour on an otherwise pleasant morning, you pervs!

Oh!! Good idea, they usually have a pretty decent selection of curtains. šŸ¤žšŸ»šŸ¤©

Thank you!

Oh, yup.. old house smell, you need to wash on higher temperatures, if possible then also using rodalon or vinegar, and then dry in the sun?

But, it is to darn difficult to get that smell out of textiles.

I am impressed that you managed!!

Outdoor lines sounds like a good thing. If they are clean I would not think twice before using them. I really love the scent of clothes that has been drying out in the sun. šŸ™ˆšŸŒ»

Cleaning tips rock!

If I could recommend anyone anything right now, it would be Arcane. The first episode didn’t catch me right away, but absolutely everything in the first season at least is intentional.

I really enjoy shows that have re-watch value. The Good Place is probably the best example of this, but I also enjoyed ā€œBehind Her Eyesā€ on Netflix.
Both seasons of Arcane were very good.

Drying in the sun can help, but it's not absolutely necessary - I was doing most of the washing in autumn anyway, so not ideal drying conditions . Washing in 60 once, twice for some things has helped. And yes, vinegar as softener. (Nothing with the name rodalon is sold here.)
