You could argue that all porn is erotica (of varied quality) but that not all erotica is porn. If that is the case, most erotica is porn and is what most people are exposed to and the context in which they view erotica. Add to that christian/conservative elements of society that naively or disingenuously conflate the two and you end up where we are. But that's just, like, my opinion man.
