My gut tells me you are lying and have been for a very long time. It's funny,though, how the heart hears what it wants to hear despite the clanging alarm going off in the brain. In this one instance, the heart got what it wanted if only for a brief time. It's hard to let go of what you want.
A small sign or gesture would be enough, I think, to keep the brain fogged enough so the heart can enjoy the lie a bit longer.

I wish I had been able to sleep. I saw the Imitation Game last night, and sobbed for a good 30 minutes at its end, because of the horrid injustice... and it's disturbed me so much that I lay in bed all night, just thinking about why human beings are so horrid to one another.
