10 or 20 years ago I started wearing only buttoned shirts, mostly silk and some seersucker cotton and linen, to stay cool in summer heat, and stopped buying anything else with short sleeves. But natural fibers that don't stretch will eventually rip. After tossing many ripped shirts over the years I finally decided to buy some T shirts for the colder seasons. I have 2 T shirts now and I'm wearing one. I will probably buy a few more. All the T shirts I've seen are either plain solid colors or some sports team name or text, so I lean towards the solid colors.
