What Book Are You Currently Reading?

90% way through Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb. As an avid reader this series took me 3 tries to get into it after 2 DNF's!

I used to be embarrassed about my DNF pile, but not anymore. If the book isn't for me, it isn't for me. Doesn't mean it's a bad book, just not my preference.

Pines by Blake Crouch. I think his books are outstanding.

So far, so good. I would recommend any book by Mr. Crouch. I've read several of his.

I feel your pain! I read Assassin’s Apprentice and thought it was terrific.
However, Royal Assassin could have done with some judicious pruning as the narrative started to feel rather leaden. Many words are used to describe relatively few events.
I took a break several times because I felt weighed down by it. The events of the end of the book were signalled well in advance so it was something of a relief to finally get them out of the way.
Unfortunately, the third book in the trilogy is even longer …
