What do readers actually want in Loving Wives?

I'm coming for the LW crowd, going to drop one end of the week. Maybe I'll post a 'progress report' here on how it does. Its a mix, there's enough to really piss them off, but at the same time the husband isn't likeable either so it may be like my old burn the bastard story where I don't get hit as hard.

I had someone beta read this a while back and they had an interesting take that none of the three characters are likable or sympathetic so there's no one to root for or against.

I predict...very high threes to a low four.

There needs to be a way of making this statement into a story title.

I think they are using swear words. Is my guess.

Yeah, I think you are right.
Swear words? That's amusing, because the stories on this site are full of George Carlin's "Forbidden Seven" or other words that are pretty close to that definition. Actually, so are many mainstream novels nowadays.

For comments to be removed from an erotic literature site, they'd have to be pretty extreme - like on the order of death threats, perhaps.
Hate content gets removed by the site - regular word bot screening I'd say. Authors can of course delete anything they choose.

The comment review process is aimed at removing spam and spam links, and is a batch process, with periods of 2 -24 hours reported.

The site content purge is like sweeps, I think, run at regular periods across the whole story file. It is, so far as I can figure out, a separate event and a separate process.

One of my Anons from Loving Wives found my story in incest and left an angry all-caps posting about my "trashy story." I pondered on his words of wisdom on a story about father and daughter fucking and how my ending was the worst. The rant was against me, incest, and the end of the story, which is somewhat ambiguous. Twos seconds after I finished reading the comments, I hit delete, and one a second later, I confirmed the delete.

If the readers in loving wives understood what they wanted, they wouldn't be hand fucking incels. They'd still be married to those who hurt and traumatized them to their souls, minus the hurt and trauma because they'd have treated them like people, not property. But they are incels, and incels being morons, what can you expect. I'll tell you what, hateful, nasty comments if you displease them and expose their absence of self-worth. I mean, my god, they are incels, right?
Lol, I had to look up "Incels"... Look around at young adult men these days, effeminate, soft, incapable of rising to the challenge of having a relationship with a modern, self reliant female.
Bring Men back, lol

I wrote a loving wives story and holy shit, I never got this much of comments before any one of my best story. Here is the story: https://literotica.com/s/honeymoon-cuckold-pt-01
Pls someone tell me what's wrong with this story line.
There won’t be anything wrong with your story it’s just the morons who inhabit Loving Wives. Much of the time they don’t bother to read the story. They seem to have standard comments which are used for all stories.

I’ve only ever submitted one story in Loving Wives and that was using this name. All my other stories have been published under another name. I deliberately wrote an over-the-top story for fun and posted in the AH why I’d written the story. But it’s still been favourited 26 times.

If you have a look at the story (Poison Ivy) you’ll see the “interesting” comments it’s received and one devoted writer of LW stories actually got the thread in AH closed down because of his attitude. The stupid bugger started a campaign against a writer he thought was myself. He named the writer he suspected and asked people to 1-bomb all that writer’s stories. I’m surprised he never got banned.

That’s the type of idiot you get in LW and why Ill never submit an LW story under my real pseudonym.

One thing the LW readers frequently complain about is that stories posted here are to the wrong category.

For example, if the wife has an affair with another women, they say it should be in Lesbian Sex. If the wife has an orgy, they say it belongs in Group Sex. Stories in which the wife has anal sex outside of marriage they say should be in Anal, if it involves Cuckoldry they say it should be Fetish and if a major story theme involves voyeurism they say it should be in E & V. Any stories that involve mixed race cheating (white wife/black boyfriend or Asian wife/Latino lover) they say should be Interracial, if the wife has an affair with a male virgin they say it should be First Time and if the cheating woman is not married but a fiancee or girlfriend they say it should be in Erotic Couplings. Incest trumps LW so any stories involving a wife cheating with her cousin or stepbrother will be moved to Incest Taboo during the approval process, but if the wife cheats with a brother-in-law they claim it should be IT.

If authors followed these 'rules' that the LW crowd want, they would have very few stories to read.

The only thing they want is the Burn the Bitch story.

Would a disclaimer in an opening from-the-author paragraph explaining that it is an LW story, perhaps head some of the hatred off at the pass? I'll admit, I don't care for LW stories myself, but would never bash someone else for what they are into.

No. Disclaimers in an Author's Note at the beginning of the story such as "Note: If you are offended by swingers or stories of consensual sharing, skip this story." have no effect on the LW haters. If it affects them at all, it merely saves them the time of reading the story, and they can quickly skip to the end to 1-bomb it.

I have tried such disclaimers in my stories, and several named haters will still open the story to 1-bomb it and leave a shitty comment.

My latest Lifestyle Chapter 13: Single Swingers, "The wife flirts with and fucks a single guy." has an Author's Note saying "If extra-marital fun and sharing offend you, skip this story. Or read on, and learn why some people might do it."

Profile "Iammweasel" commented: "Note to readers my stories are about me dealing with my repressed homosexuality, if that offends you please tell me to go write in the gay section. Thank you in advance.
LifestylepreferMen66"

Profile "26thNC" commented: "Single swingers? Whores and stunt dicks."

So, there are dedicated haters out there 1-bombing for their own entertainment. This is their way of having fun, and I write to entertain them.

Like all readers, the Loving Wives readers want to be entertained. Some find entertainment in reading the stories, while others by bashing the story or the author. Either way, the writer has done his job in the category. I believe the job of the writer is to provoke an emotional response. If the reader loves the story, job well done. If they hate the story, the same thing. When they love or hate it enough to make comments, your job is exceedingly well done.

LW is a category with about four different factions all vying for what they want to read.

1. the Burn the Bitch crowd - they want the cheating wife to get burned, divorce, kicked out of the house, etc.
2. the Reconciliation at all Costs crowd - they want everyone to be happy and loving. Husband always keeps the cheating wife.
3. the I don't want to read about extramarital sex stories
4. all the others readers of loving wives stories who don't like anything.

Then there are the trolls that just go through the LW stories and 1-bomb them without even reading them.

I have many LW stories, some are BTB, some are RAAC, some are just a couple enjoying each other. All have their detractors, they also have their fans.
You are absolutely right. The "Loving Wives" category is completely batshit crazy.
That's also what makes it so fun to write in at the same time.
I find some pleasure in pissing off the different factions within

The one thing the story cannot do is reward or seem to approve of cheating. There must be drama about the cheating or extramarital sex. No matter how much one may wish otherwise, I'm giving facts on facts here, and I know the category.

You obviously are an authority on the subject of LW but … my two stories in LW both have the red H and neither creates drama about the cheating. In fact the cheaters prosper in both. One of those stories has 684,000 views.

I guess exceptions prove the rule? There are no absolute rules for success in the category.

If you have gained thousands of followers from other categories, and you are posting on LW, your starting point is much better because your tribe will support you.

Meh. “Office Wife” was the second story I ever wrote. I didn’t have a lot of followers when I posted it.

And my stories don’t have a “didactic message about actions and consequences”. That was the whole point of my comment. There’s more than one way to skin a cat in the LW category.
