What do you keep by the bed?

Our headboard shelves are filled with books, comics, maps, magazines, and trivia, and topped with lamps, landline phone, CD-radio, candles, and a big honking chunk of orthocera fossils, supplemented by Android tablets and phone, glasses, pills, keys, jewelry, and flatpicks. Instruments are nearby.

Couple of paperbacks, a notebook if I wake up in the middle of the night with an idea for a story, always a bottle of ice tea or flat coke(the only way to drink it, people!)

And a loaded .45 in the drawer of the nightstand. I think the only time I would ever have to use it is to fire it and scare the dogs off whatever idiot that would be dumb enough to break in after hearing said dogs going crazy.

Kleenex.
A wife.
Chapstick.
A gun.
Clock radio.
A few books.

A fan, a lamp, asst. sex toys, asst. lubes, herbs, a bottle of water.

Doesn't she get lonely and cold out there beside the bed instead of in it with you? Do you let her have an electric blanket?

My phone, and (in a drawer) my glasses. I used to keep a lot of other stuff on my bedside table, but then I got a cat, and she has informed me that the table needs to be kept clear so she can sit on it and stare at me while I sleep.

A lot of people complain about their cats doing that, and sleeping on their head, batting at them, getting between them and their other half...

Why do people let their pets in the bedroom? We have a cat and two dogs, none are allowed in the bedroom. I'm the only ill mannered animal allowed there.

Just "stuff". Besides, the cat and my chihuahua warrior play there when I try to sleep. I don't think there's any catnip or doggie treats under there......yet.

How did you manage such a polite cat? Mine will put her paw under the door and shake it in the frame until I let her in or out of my room. For such a tiny creature, she can be a big pain in the ass. Also the reason I can't keep elastic hair ties on my bedside table- she thinks they're toys. And pens must be kept inside notebooks or they too disappear.

My criteria for letting anybody into my bedroom:

- good cuddler
- good personal hygiene
- neck massages a bonus
- makes me feel appreciated (loud purring counts)

We had to banish one dog because he had some sort of canine PTSD and would reflexively bite anybody who touched him while he was asleep, but Her Majesty is pretty good company aside from demanding a clear bedside table.

I agree with you about Idris Elba. He is one fine and sexy black man.

What always amazes me is how English actors can nail American accents, especially when American actors tend to screw up English accents.

Since when do AMERICANS have accents? LOL

Do you only recognize Korean accents, traitor? Turn yourself in now or run for asylum. Numerous USA accents will bid you adieu, adios, bye, aloha, farewell, so long, sayonara motherfucker, g'd'riddance, don't let the door hit your ass, etc. You can amuse Kim with your impressions of Apaches.
