What do you like?

I like...

a good friend ringing me up with good news
really cold water in my water bottle
pizza
finding no angry messages on my answerphone
decorating eggs
my very soft acrylic/polyester blend blanket
silver nail varnish

...the random thoughts that fill my head.

Welcome to Lit!

I like these choices. Some very good ones there.

Today, I like. . . .

Dancing around the living room like an idiot with my daughter.

The weeds coming up through the dead grass in the backyard, reminding me that it's about to be spring in Texas.

Girl Scout Cookies. Thin Mints, specifically.

I like that Packersfan's thread is seeing so much action.

I like the aroma of cooking food in my house.

I like that the hubby is cleaning the bathroom as I type this. Don't be too envious, he won't touch the comode or sink...I still have to do those.

I like sleeping in a cool room, under some warm blankets.

I like the male chest...and think that someone who has good luck with threads should create one for just that. Photo's of the male litsters chest...and random ones as well.

I like that my 16 year old cat still plays like a kitten at times.

Good choices for Today. Are all your daily selections this good?

I'm sure I would like it if it was available to be veiwed. I like the memory of the woman she was, not the stanger she is.

Thanks, Lynn, I like that it is, too...

I like to cook, much less smell something cooking.

I clean them all. Just the other day, as a matter of fact.

I would start one for that, but it would be suspect, since I am a guy.... And I am still reeling over how this one is doing...

Again, Thanks to everyone who comes to visit!

I was watching it as I posted it. Not sure what the problem is.

It's John Legend, called Ready to go, on Youtube.

I like going to Guitar Center and banging on $5000.00+ Martin Guitars (which I have no intention of buying) and marveling at that fact that my humble Yamaha LL16 (which cost a paltry $750.00) sounds better... especially since I replaced the plastic nut, saddle and bridge pins with fossilized walrus jawbone (fossilized walrus ivory would have cost as much as the guitar)

maybe, but then you would have had a great sounding guitar for $1500.00, not to say it doesn't sound great now, since your jawbone addition, instead of the new one you're going to bang on...

I also like my Dremel... which enabled me to fit my own fossilized walrus ivory nut and bridge, thus avoiding having to pay some frustrated guitar tech (who insists upon calling himself a luthier, though he has never actually made a guitar) a couple of hundred bucks.

Now we're talking! Portable tools, the reason for our existence!

Call him a Luthier, Jr., or Junior for short. That'll motivate him to do a quality job on your repairs...

To my ears, fossilized walrus and/or mammoth ivory doesn't sound any better than synthetic Tusq®, which runs about $20 for a set of bridge pins. I just got the FWJB because it was on sale... and so that I can say to other guys who play guitar, "Oh, those bridge pins, they're fossilized walrus jawbone."

If I was going to drop $1500 on a flat top acoustic guitar (I'm primarily an electric guitarist) I'd just go another grand and get a Yamaha LL26. I'm completely sold on Yamahas at this point.
