I agree, I want some real guitar riffs, not some guy beating his strings to death, making blood fly from his fingers.

yes, please! those cover my flavor too. don't forget to add some southern rock to that list, though...

Thus my inquiry. I can never tell specifically what people mean when they say rock and/or rock & roll. I'm a guitar player. So, I like pretty much all guitar music; from jazz to classical to classic rock to bluegrass travis picking (at which I becoming none too shabby.) But, as to the shredding, anything beyond Eddie Van Halen sounds decidedly unmusical to me.

I used to like joe satriani, until i saw him perform. only saw him once, but it looked like he was in pain, and was having trouble with his guitar, like he was strangling it to create his sound.

I like that I have more friends who are like family to me than I ever have had before. I like that my father lives quite a distance away from me.
