What do you like?

I'm the opposite. I can't buy online, since I have some preferences I can only identify while trying on shoes. I like one of the local stores, since they have many sizes of many styles of shoes.

You can try on shoes that you've bought online. If they aren't to your satisfaction, just send them back. I bought three pairs of shoes just last night (including a pair of New Balance running shoes which retail locally for $150-ish; I paid $35 for them... free shipping, no tax.) If there is a problem with any of them, back they go. Generally, the big online retailers aim to please. So, if you have to send something back, a complaint will often result in a little swag in the form of a coupon.

What constitutes "many" is relative. If I wore a normal size, e.g. a men's 12 U.S., I'd have a few thousand choices of loafers on Amazon alone. And, in any event, I doubt if local stores would have even a single pair--of anything other than, possibly, basketball shoes--in a size 16 U.S.

Edit: I actually saw a pair of shoes that were too big for me in Marshall's; a pair of hideously gaudy basketball shoes in a men size 18 U.S. Of course, there wasn't another pair of shoes above a size 13 U.S. in the entire store.

I guess I didn't think of that.

I know one of the local stores includes larger sizes in their inventory, including non basketball shoes. There is a guy locally who wears size 16, and he was in the local paper talking about his clothes, and mentioned going to this store.

There are a couple of "big and tall" stores around here that occasionally carry shoes in my size. However, they are usually no-name utilitarian oxfords or old man shoes, like Florsheim's.

The next time you find yourself with some time to kill and nothing better to do, have a gander at the shoes offered at Amazon dot com, filtered by your size and some really outrageous discounted price (e.g. under $35.) Just be prepared to have your mind blown.

I bought a pair of Kenneth Cole slip-ons for $30 a few weeks ago, and they are back north of $100 as I type this.

I have a sickness in that I can't stand to pay retail for anything. You should see me in a car dealership or at a furniture store. I'm really quite shameless.

I like that I got to chat with someone just a bit today. wasn't enough, but better than nothing.:kiss::heart:

I understand, I have to get my clothes from a big and tall store, and I usually wait till there is a sale or a BOGO offered.

I'll check out Amazon. That is a really good ceiling for a price, since I usually pay so much more.

I have the same sickness, unless I can't get around it. My first question at a car dealer is What kind of deal can I get?

I like the word copacetic.

It is such a cool word to describe a great feeling...:D

If you catch them on the right day, you can find some insane bargains on otherwise very expensive shoes.

Edit: E.g., the NB running shoes that I bought last night; the color scheme wouldn't have been my first choice, but they were $75 cheaper than the same shoe in blue.
What do I care? I'm going to run them into the ground in 2½ months.

Being in the moment is great!

if you spend time in several moments, you feel spread out and segmented, which is ok for an insect, but not for a person...

hehe! I am liking that mental image of a spread-out extra-long worm! *snicker*

today, I like alone time, sooo much! over-much even! (is that just a mother/wife thing? lol)
and second to that . . . errrrrr well there is no second *ooopsy* haha
